The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 131 Book 2 Chapter 63

Instead of at the borders, the pack warriers were lined out in front of the pack house. The women, the children were already hidden in the safehouse as Zillon had planned. They had food, water and was told to bring a set of change of clothes.

The opening was hidden among the grass that tainted the land and mask was poured around it, the stronger one that Celia had been talking about, the one that could last for days… The doors were locked from the inside and Celeste held the key in her hands

It was hell to get her to take it, hell to get her to go inside. She had been so adamant on wanting Zillon to come with her. She hadn’t seemed so scared before, but it seems the nearer the war drew, the nearer her anxieties drew too.

Tears had drowned her face as though it was a waterfall and she had held him so tight with no aim of letting go. Zillon found it hard to leave her as well, but he had to, didn’t he…?

The last thing he did was k**s her forehead and whisper to her words of reassurance. He told her he’d come back, that she’d see him again and he told her he loved her too, that she didn’t have to worry.

He made her promise not to open the door until she concluded that it was safe, he told her to be a Luna, keep the kids safe, reassure the pack, make sure they ate. He told her that that was her job, but still she had held onto him, it was Xavier who made her let go.

His words seemed to have convinced her more than his did and though he hated that fact, he could do nothing about it.

‘Is this the little fighter I trained? I thought you how to punch and not how to cry…it seems I trained you for nothing, I thought you were stronger than this…but you’re no fighter Celeste, you’re an omega.’

Celeste had wiped her eyes and stared up at him. ‘No I am…I am a fighter.’

‘And you can’t do this? What’s so hard in protecting those who are weaker than you.’

‘I…I—’

‘Go Celeste, close the doors and keep them safe, if you can’t do that, how can you call yourself a fighter? How can you ever call yourself strong? The men are going to war and we are placing this duty in your hands because we believe you can do it. Don’t open the doors unless you are certain it’s safe to do so. Keep them from panicking even if you are panicking yourself, he said he’ll be back, believe.’

‘Will you be back too?’

‘I will, now go.’

She had loosened her grip around his hand then reluctantly walked over to the door, stepping down a few steps, one wave and then she closed them.

All the women were beyond that door except for Celia and Celine. Celia claimed that she was strong enough to fight, that a wolf with the b***d of a beta had no right hiding from a war and Celine said something along the same lines. They both were too courageous for their own good….

Sighing, Zillon exhaled, the breath harsh and heavy as he waited. The sky was dark even though the moon was full and the night was quieter than any other. He could hear no birds chirping, no crickets singing, it was just silence and in nothing but a couple of minutes, that silence was destroyed by distant running.

Paws…he could hear them, many of them, so much that the earth beneath his paws shook as they approached; swiftly. His heart started to beat like a drum in his head, his position changing into a fighting stance and so did the other wolves around him.

Zillon knew they were scared, he could hear the anxiousness in each of their breaths, even Xavier’s. The black wolf that stood like a merciless warrier beside him reminded him so much of his father.

Jet black, nothing to taint the shiny furs, not even a spot of white. Zillon hoped everything would go as smoothly as he planned, he hoped they’d win and Liam and Fredd who stood alongside each other on the front lines would walk away from the war in one piece.

Looking forward where the wolves were approaching from, he breathed out heavily again, even if he was confident in Xavier’s plan, he still had to try his best to stop the war.

It made no sense b***d spilled for something could maybe have been prevented. He’d have a word with the alpha king, he’d try to figure out what really happened, what big mistake did the Forrester pack make to be in the left hand of the red blud pack.

And so he waited a little more, waited until wolves many more than his stood before his pack. They were out-numbered, the opposing pack had men twice the amount of his.

It made Zillon all the more anxious, all the more scared, but still he stepped forward, his bones cracking as he changed forms.

As skin covered his bones, he stayed crouched down, not moving even when he was fully coated with flesh. His orange eyes changed back to obsidian and with them, he looked up at the big, black wolf that stood in front of the opposing pack.

It tilted it’s head, seeming to be in confusion until Zillon decided to speak. “Why are we fighting? Why is there a war?”
