The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 132 Book 2 Chapter 64

It tilted it’s head, seeming to be in confusion until Zillon decided to speak. “Why are we fighting? Why is there a war?”

The wolf scoffed, crouching down against the tough soil. Zillon could hear fluently as each of it’s bones cracked and then before him, stood a man seeming to be in his late 30s. “I wonder if you’re him…” He smirked.

“I’m who?”

“Why don’t you ask Gregory and by the way, where’s your brother?”

‘My brother?’ Zillon thought, why was he asking about Xavier?

“Why do you want to know?”

“It’s unfair to start a war with someone so clueless, but regardless of that, the red blud pack will not lose its liability and trust because of this. If it takes eradicating this whole pack to replace what I’m looking for, I will do so without remorse and Gregory…please bear in mind that you’re the first person I’m coming at…”

His eyes flashed from hazel to a bright blue and his bones once again started cracking. Zillon mirrored his actions, his fur too coating his skin as though it was his armor. In slow motion, he watched as the king howled and his men started sprinting pass him, heading towards Zillon with no hesitation.

Zillon’s heart hammered against his chest, his howl sounding like a broken cry as he signaled his pack. They ran forward and just as planned, sharpened wood flew like birds from the right and the left side of the woods hitting random men from the opposing pack.

B***d started to spill, growls of pain, and of threat now the only thing he could hear. Spears kept coming, some of them hitting his pack members instead of the Alpha king’s, but it was okay, it was working…more of his men were dying, and the more the better…just like Xavier said.

***FLASHBACK***

“You’re right I don’t know how that feels and after today, I really wouldn’t want to, but can you put that aside? I know you hate me, but can you share your plan?”

Xavier clenched his fist and looked away. “I have some left over mask back at my packland…we could use that and have some of the men hide amongst the bushes. No sound, no scent would mean they’re undetectable and that way we could lay surprise attacks. Back at my pack, we use spears to hunt…we sharpen woods and throw them at our prey, my men are very good at it, them plus some of your men could stand on the sidelines, we just need to sharpen enough before night falls…have everybody help expect the children…we just need to kill enough to be able to strike him. If we kill their leader, the war ends, they’ll stop attacking.”

“Are you sure it’ll work? What if they approached from a different angle, what if the hidden men are discovered? And how will they they throw spears in the woods, the trees will get in their way.”

“Thus why we won’t go into the forest, we’ll stay in the open, in front of the pack house where it’s clear and one of us could create a diversion which would make it possible for the men to sneak out of hiding and fire on command. They can join in as soon as the spears are finished.”

“Are you sure this will work?”

“Can you come up with anything better?”

“I suppose not.”

“Then this it is…our best shot.”

***END OF FLASHBACK***

Xavier’s little plan was going good so far, now it was on them, take down as many wolves as possible in order to get to the alpha king.

Zillon’s paws dug deep into the earth as he ran, sighting by wolves and spears that came after him. He had only one aim and he’d see it through. His men were fighting with their all, from the corner of his eyes, he could see them, effortlessly being taken down and effortlessly taking down enemies too…

Men that had been injured and inevitably turned back into their human forms laid on the floor, gasping for breath and Zillon ran over them all. He pretended he was blind to the b***d and deaf to the whimpers and pained growls, he pretended as though they were all invisible, inaudible.

A growl rumbled through his chest as he took down a wolf that ran at him, his teeth sinking into the wolve’s neck drawing b***d.

The war wasn’t near its end, there were so many wolves left and he had yet to fight any of the big and powerful ones. He ran faster on his feet, his eyes flashing to the right, unmistakeably spotting Xavier…

He had the same goal as Zillon, his eyes were fixated on the wolf that stood in the centre taking down his men as if they had no power no strength, there was another beside him, just as big, just as powerful…

It was said that the alpha king had a son, that must be him, killing as though his bloodlust was higher than the devil’s… Xavier sprinted to a stop before him and Zillon in front of the alpha king…

His heart felt like fire in his chest and all he could think about was his promise to Celeste…

‘I’ll be back…’

‘We’ll win…’

He hoped he could keep it and whether or not he could take down this wolf would determine that. His paws scraped against the surface of the earth and only just now he had realized that the spears had stopped coming and the men who were throwing them were now wolves fighting for a cause, fighting to win.

He had to do the same…an alpha against an alpha, he trained hard, he could win if he tried and plus, he had a family to go back, Celeste was waiting for him, he couldn’t disappoint her or his pups….
