The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 26

She was nervous, more so when the door was pulled open, revealing the alpha and Luna of her pack.

As usual the Alpha’s face was stern, depicting nothing but austerity. His aura was powerful, his scent even stronger than Zillon’s. Unsurprisingly, that made Celeste’s nervousness reign a little higher and the fact that the Luna only stood, twisting her neck like a peacock while she looked at her made it even worse.

Celeste took a shaky step back, bowing her head as a sign of respect and submission. “I…I…good evening sir, good evening ma’am, I’m Celeste.”

Seconds went by and nobody answered, she felt the need to look up, to see their expressions, but she was too scared to, so instead, she continued. “I-uh…I’m…I’m Zillon’s current mate.”

More time ran out and her heart rammed against her chest as if it was trying to break out of it and what made it worst was the stern voice that broke the silence. “Raise your head.”

There was no denying it, that was the alpha’s voice and it sounded as if he was angry at her, scorning her. Slowly, she acquiesced to his orders, the omega in her unable to defy it.

His face looked just the way his voice sounded; scornful. He looked just about to hit her when he raised his hands, but instead of on her cheek, his big, rough hand rested atop of her head. “We don’t do that around here. I’m the alpha of the pack, not the alpha of my family. You can relax, there’s nothing to be scared of. Come, let’s get you inside, you’re still feeling unwell, are you not?”

His hand dropped to her shoulder, gently pulling her forward and through the door. “Honey, were you done with dinner?”

“Yes, but tell me honey, why is Necessary for Zillon to stay here too?”

“She’s my mate mom, of course I’ll stay.”

“Your mate my a*s, look at the girl, she’s a goddess walking on land, do you really believe the goddess of the moon would just hand her over to anybody, especially to you?”

“Well yes, she did, didn’t she?”

“A mistake, that’s what this is. I thought your mate would be just like you…ugly, disrespectful and ugly.”

“Mom, you know I’m not ugly, they say I get my looks from you. If I’m ugly, you’re undoubtedly ugly too.”

“Shut up, you traitorous son. Nobody sa—”

“Will you two shame yourselves in front of guest? It’s an immature argument, but let me add this fact…’both of you are ugly, a mirror image of each’.”

With that,me lead Celeste further inside until they made it to the dinner table. “You’ll sit beside me, dear. The only spot for a princess, is beside a king. Now come.”

He walked her over to the seat beside the one at the head of the table and pulled it out for her. “Sit.”

Celeste reluctant sat down, not sure what else to do. Her expectations were completely broken, this was everything beyond it. An alpha being so gentle, the sun must’ve stopped shining outside. Shuffling nervously on the chair, she watched as Zillon and his mother came in, both shouldering each other as they walked.

“You’re not my son anymore.”

“And you’re not my mother either.”

“That’s what you should tell people, that way, they’ll stop thinking we look alike. I was so pretty back in my teen days that I seduced your father long before he knew I was his mate.”

“Ye, right…it was more like you tried to seduce me and failed.”

“Shut up Gregory Macre.”

“And come and sit down Celena Zest Macre.”

The woman rolled her eyes and sat in the chair adjacent to Celeste’s. Zillon walked over to the table after her dropping the bags and the suitcase in the corner of the room. “Then why is it that Celeste is sitting in my chair?”

“Because this where she belongs.” The alpha replied. “And you should sit beside your mother, she’s mine whenever we’re around the dinner table.”

“Did you forget that your wife can hear you?”

“Of course not, she knows that ‘mine’ meant nothing, right honey?”

“Shut up, Gregory and sit down son.”

Zillon rolled his eyes and sat down beside his mother. “I swear to god if the food didn’t smell nice, I’d go straight to my room.”

“It’s not your room anymore, it’s Celeste’s. Your room is the living room because you aren’t sleeping anywhere near her.”

“What do you mean, mom? Is she my mate or yours?”

“About that, we’ll talk after dinner.”

She rose out of her seat, uncovering each plate and revealing all that she cooked.

“I cooked up a feast, fried chicken, baked chicken, quesadillas, rice, spaghetti, pasta…I wasn’t sure what you liked and you’re the person I was cooking for so….”

Celeste looked down at the food, honestly grateful. “I-I…thank you so much.”

“You’re welcome sweety, why don’t you start the dinner? Take the first bite.”

“But the first bite is always reserved for the alpha.”

“What did I say outside? I’m no alpha when I step foot in this house, do you see them treating me like one?”

Celeste shook her head.

“Then do the same, take the first bite, the dinner is yours anyway.”

Celeste looked up at Zillon, then at the Luna and then at the alpha of the pack before reaching for a quesadilla, she liked this…the gentleness in his voice as he spoke to her and the look in his eyes was no different.

Smiling, she brought the food to her lips, taking a small bite out of it and chewing.

“How is it, sweety?”

“It’s…it’s good.”

“As always, now….lets eat!”

A/N// Woah! I love the parents, they’re so god damn nice, especially the alpha. About Zillon and his mother, that’s a total different story, the two are idiots!

How do you think Celeste felt though apart from being nervous?

There wasn’t a lot of her POV in this chapter, but sure you could just imagine it. Our girl has finally been accepted in a family, I felt so happy to write it.
