The Alpha's Unwanted Mate -
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 32
Hesitantly, she rose out of her seat, leaving her breakfast as well as Zillon’s mother and father at the table as she followed after him up the stairs.
She wasn’t sure why she was doing this, but something deep within her wanted her to or perhaps she was just curious…
About that look in his eyes and about his actions.
There was a chance that she had her hopes up again too, perhaps she was putting too much faith into him. He had done so much to discourage her and yet she still had the courage to approach him.
How foolish she was, walking right into another heartbreak, giving him another chance to tear her right open. But would he?
She couldn’t help but ask…he had promised to never hurt again and even though he broke his promise last night, she couldn’t help but trust him. He said it was a mistake, it probably was…he was in rut, something so similar to her heat.
She knew how it felt, she knew how fast your control could slip, how fast you could turn into someone you never thought you could be and she knew how torturous it was having to crave for something you couldn’t have. She pitied him, but she pitied herself too.
For she knew he had the ability to hurt her, one word from him could break her and another could fix her. He was her heartache, but he was her medicine as well.
It was confusing and she didn’t plan to live in such confusion for the rest of her life, but at least for today she could let her expectations soar…at least today she could hope…
For a change and for happiness…
Stepping foot up the last step, Celeste took a deep breath, looking towards the door Zillon resided behind.
If she went into that room and Zillon once again shunned her, she’d probably wither like a flower, but if he embraced her, would she grow?
Celeste shook the thought from her head as she walked up to the door, she was 99% sure he’d shun her, just as sure as she was that she wouldn’t be his mate…and look at her now, carrying his mark on her neck.
Fate had always been the one to decide for her and today it’d be the same.
Pushing the door open, Celeste stepped inside and just as she did, she was grabbed and roughly pulled further into the room.
Surprise filled her, her heart jumping like a kangaroo in her ch.est. “Z-Zillon…?”
“Shhh…” He hummed out, pushing the door closed and shoving her against it. He leaned in, resting his head in the crook of her neck. “Can I…Can I mark you?”
Celeste’s breath hitched in her throat, an electrifying feeling running straight through her. “I…I-no.”
“Then can I at least stay like this, if not can I hold your hand or even the tip of your finger. I can’t—it’s hard Celeste…to not touch you.”
“I-uh…” Celeste weakly pushed him away, granting herself space and only then did she offer him her hand. “I gu—guess there’s no harm in you holding my hand.”
Zillon looked down at her hand, slowly reaching to take it. “I really am sorry about last night, you know that right?”
Celeste looked away from him, a prominent blush appearing on her cheeks. He sounded so different from how he usually did. The tone in which he spoke, the expressions on his face and the way he touched her, everything was so gentle as if he was trying hard to prevent himself from scaring her.
“I never thought that it would be this hard to ignore the matebond, at first, I thought it’d be easy. All I had to do was push you away and put up a wall that you’d be unable to climb over, but it seems I won’t be able to do that anymore, I’m the one being vulnerable now. I bet you’re laughing at me, not too long ago I was telling you to stay away from me and now I can’t even keep my hands to myself…I’m so f*cking pathetic.”
“Y-you’re not, it’s b-because of the rut.”
“It’s not just because of the rut, it’s been like this since that night I marked you, the only difference is that I could control myself and now that I can’t, I realized something.”
Celeste’s heart was on fire in her ch.est, the matebond strong in every bone in her body. What did he mean?
What was he saying?
Slowly her eyes glided over to look at him, curiosity in their depths. “What? What did you realize?”
Zillon leaned in, once again resting his head in the crook of her neck. “That it wasn’t hard to choose you from the beginning. The attraction was there, the matebond was strong and you were such a sweetheart. It didn’t have to come to this…” He took a whiff of her scent, situating himself even closer to her. “Is it too late to choose you now, Kitten?”
Celeste shivered against him, undoubtedly we.tting her panties. What was he saying?
Was she hearing him correctly?
Choose her over Celia? The rut must be playing a dangerous trick with his head. Was he drunk? On drugs? Celeste was confused…why did he want to choose her now?
What changed between them?
She couldn’t come to understand him.
He wanted to choose her, he was asking her for a chance. What was she suppose to say? What was she suppose to do?
“I…Zillon…”
Celeste pushed against his ch.est, her legs almost giving out when he l!cked at her neck. “Is it?”
Celeste pushed him again and didn’t stop until there was distance between them. Could it be that this was only because of his rut?
What if she said yes and then later on found out that he only coaxed her to get between her legs. She’d be broken if that ever happened, which was why she took her time extinguishing the little hope she had. “I…I don’t think you deserve a chance or rather I don’t think you mean it.”
“Celest—”
“I want to go, I haven’t finished breakfast as yet.”
She turned her back to him, grasping the door knob, but unfortunately, she wasn’t able to twist it…
A/N// As the author, I want to slap myself…you guys can slap me too…
Anyways, Zillon seem to have made his choice but Celeste doesn’t believe him, do you think he’ll be able to convince her. Comment people‼️💣🔥
