The Alpha's Unwanted Mate -
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 52
After one last failure, Zillon finally succeeded in frying his first egg perfectly. Well it was really perfect since it was burnt on side and overly seasoned, but he was somewhat satisfied with himself. For breakfast, they had eaten the eggs along with toasted bread and now they both had nothing to do.
They were sitting on the couch in the living room, both staring at each other, probably expecting a conversation, but what was really there to say?
Sure their relationship has grown, the bond between them was bigger and their s****l connection was out of this world, but they weren’t so fond of each other. Zillon knew Celeste was shy and Celeste knew Zillon was anything but, but was there anything else they knew about each other?
Sighing, Zillon leaned back against the couch, not liking the silence. In the past, all he had done was feign ignorance, wrongfully accuse Celeste of seducing him and curse her as if she was dirt and now that resulted in him not knowing just how to start a friendly conversation with her.
How pitifully… A mate not knowing how to correspond with the other, but how would he learn if he didn’t try?
Sighing again, he peeked over at Celeste, licking his lips. “Kitten…I umm…what’s your middle name?”
Oh yes, ‘what’s your middle name?’ that’s the best f*cking way to start a conversation.
Face palming, Zillon shook his head in disappointment of his ability to start a conversation with someone he had s*x with more than once. “I meant what’s your…your…yo—”
“It’s Kayan…that’s my middle name. What about…about yours?”
“Well it’s Ace, Zillon Ace Macre, that’s my name and one day, my last name will be tied to yours.”
“We’re not in the human world though…that only happens in the movies.”
“It’s not like my mark and the mating ceremony isn’t enough to display the fact that you’re mine, but just like them I want you to wear something —under than my mark— that also shows that you’re mine, it doesn’t have to be a ring or a necklace, I just want to own you completely, to know that no matter what you’ll never abandon me like I did you when you were first here. I can’t even imagine how you had felt because I really don’t want to. I was blinded by my greed, I didn’t want to let you go and yet I didn’t want to let you in…I must’ve seemed cruel…”
“Y-You were…At some point, I was dying to hate you even though I was fully aware that I couldn’t. I thought you’d never accept my feelings, I was certain you wouldn’t…and then after the pain, after the suffering…t-there came a blessing…y-you told me that you’d choose me.” Celeste wiped at her glossy eyes. “And even though you explain why so many times, I still don’t understand.”
Zillon sighed, spreading his arms. “Come here, Kitten.”
Celeste threw herself into his arms, hiding her face in his chest. “You really do love me, don’t you?”
Celeste nodded against him. “And that’s why-that’s why you should continue to choose me even when Celeste comes here today.”
Zillon ran his hand soothingly down her back, she acted so unbothered and yet she was worried about him abandoning her again. What a precious little soul. “You don’t have to worry about that, kitten, I’ll choose you no matter what and then I’ll buy you a ring, a necklace anything to convince you that you’ll eternally be my choice.”
He kissed at the top of her head. “Do you want want me to get down on one knees too? I mean those stupid men on tv always do it.”
“You d-don’t have to.”
“Ye, but I will…on the day of the ceremony…”
“Should I…Should I get you something as well? To show Celi—I mean the world that you’re mine too…”
Zillon chuckled, the movement of his hand ceasing against her back. “You can buy it if you want to or rather if you want to show Celia that I’m yours.”
“It’s not t—”
“It’s alright, Kitten…you’re inclined to be possessive too. I’m sure you’re insecure as well.”
Silenced dwelled between them after that, a silence that was in someway comfortable. None of them felt the need to talk or even move until the doorbell rang.
A sudden chill ran down Celeste’s spine when her sister’s scent greeted her nostril; that familiar of mint, that…that…
Celeste look up from From Zillon’s chest, replaceing his eyes instead. “I-I…she’s here.”
Zillon kissed her forehead, then gestured to the direction that’d lead her to the door. “Why don’t you go let her in, Kitten?”
And though Celeste didn’t want to, she eased out of his arms and stood to her feet. “Okay.”
Celeste walked out of the living room and straight to the front door. Reluctantly, she reached for the knob, slowly twisting it. She was nervous, nothing Zillon said could stop her from trembling in fear. Her sister was better than her in everything except her studies, she was loved by everyone too, anyone would choose her, she was strong, she was pretty, so much more perfect than Celeste thought herself could be.
She couldn’t get rid of the thought that Zillon would change his mind, he said he wouldn’t and it’s not that she didn’t trust him, it was herself that she didn’t trust. She wasn’t confident, she didn’t think she could ever win against her sister, she had lost many times before, why would she win today?
Pulling the door open, Celeste stepped back, her eyes greeting her sister’s harsh ones. “H…Hello Celia…”
“Hello Sister.”
