The Alpha's Unwanted Mate -
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 53
Pulling the door open, Celeste stepped back, her eyes greeting her sister’s harsh ones. “H…Hello Celia…”
“Hello sister.” She pushed pass Celeste on her way inside. “I was wondering when Zillon would call. It must’ve been boring to pretend he was in love with you in front of his parents. You’re so worthless, I can’t believe your jealousy lead you to slice your wrist.”
“It’s not…it’s not—”
“I know, sister…how unwanted you must’ve felt, and sadly that feeling won’t end here because Zillon will never choose you.”
Celeste stiffened, her hands clenching by her side, her eyes watering. “You might be right…B-But then again, don’t be so confident, he’s changed…maybe this time around you’ll be the one to know the feeling of being unwanted.”
Celia twisted on her feet, grabbing at Celeste’s collar. “What did you say you weak, little rat? Are you threatening me?” She smirked. “I wonder what built your confidence, just wait until I tell Zillon about this.”
“Go ahead, I’m sure he won’t slap me.”
“He won’t, but I will.” She lifted her hand, heavily bringing it down towards Celeste’s face. However before she could land the hit, someone’s hand latched onto her wrist, stopping her.
She quickly turned, staring back at Zillon with wide eyes.
“What are you doing?”
“Well…well I was teaching her a lesson, she said…she called me a b*tch.”
“But did she slap you?”
“No bu—”
“Don’t touch her.” Zillon let go of her hand and glared at her until she let go of Celeste completely. “Don’t manhandle her, she did you no wrong.”
He stepped back and continued to eye Celia.
“I’m sorry, I was just anxious.” She apologized, bowing her head. “It’s been a week since I’ve seen you, it’s inevitable for me not to feel self-conscious.”
Zillon nodded, gesturing to the hallway. “How about we talk in the living room?”
He lead the way, hands in his pockets, heart beating in his ch.est. Behind him were the only two women he had ever loved, one was his mate and the other was someone who had saved him ages ago. The moon goddess really was cruel to him, finally he’d have to let one go, he’d have to let one go no matter how hard it was.
Celia had been his confidence back then, but now Celeste was his pride, his heart had never been so tied to someone in his life. He now did everything to please her, never had he ever thought of making Celia breakfast and never had he ever wanted to protect something or rather someone so much.
How could he ever choose Celia when Celeste was here? Everything about her corresponded with him. Her submission pleased him greatly, how timely she picked her words and how desperately she held him. He liked that he was essential to her, liked that she was needy and clingy and craved for nothing but his attention.
He liked it when she said his name and he loved it when she screamed it whenever they were making love. He also liked how her arms would welcome him and how her tight clutches would grip him…
He liked a lot of things about her, how openly she displayed her feelings, how kindhearted she was and honest… She was who he wanted and if he had to lose Celia, then so be it.
He wanted the ceremony, he wanted her mark to finally be on his neck, he wanted to officially and irrevocably make her his. He wanted…he wanted so much and yet so little.
He just wanted her to continue to love him, to need him and he’d never feel out of place again and never have to fight for a position in her life like he had fought for his alpha position. He didn’t want to lose her like he lost his brother, perhaps he should’ve gave up his position and maybe then his little brother would’ve stay, but now he learned his lesson…
He’d give up Celia in exchange for Celeste to remain by his side…
Taking a seat on the couch, he looked up at both girls, patting the spot beside him. Celia was the first one to stop forward, but Zillon stopped her with the flick of his wrist. “Celeste…I was calling for you.”
Celeste swallowed the saliva that had settled in her mouth, slowly walking over to sit beside him. She felt awkward, this whole situation did, but she’d have to pull through until it ended.
“You can sit there Celia.” Zillon said, pointing to the spot across from them.
Celia looked down at the couch and shook her head. “What… what’s going on? I want to sit there, I want to be beside you. Why is she…? What is she…?
“We’re breaking up, Celia…that’s exactly why I called you here.”
“What? A break up?” She chuckled, no humour in the sound. “You must be kidding. You want to break up with me? This must be a joke.” She clenched her jaw and folded her arms across her ch.est. “Zillon you promised, you said you wouldn’t leave me, at least not for her. You said…Zillon you promised.”
“I know Celia, but I’ve thought about it. Your mate will come one day and despite the affection you feel for me, you’ll have to leave me for him. We both have different paths to walk, it makes no sense we continue down this dead end, we’d have broken up sooner or later anyway.”
“I don’t want a mate, I want you…I’ll always want you. You said you didn’t want to mate Celeste either, you said that you wished it was me, you said you’d reject her, you said you’d never love her.”
Celeste’s ch.est pained her at those words, her eyes glued to the shaking hands in her lap.
“Well it seems I was wrong because our mating ceremony is tomorrow, I shouldn’t have lead you on, I should’ve chosen Celeste from the start, that’s the only thing I’m sorry about.”
“A mating ceremony? I bet it won’t happen if I kill her.”
She marched over to the couch, hauling Celeste from off of it. “You don’t hit women, do you? Well for successfully seducing you with whatever method she used, I will hit her.”
