The Alpha's Unwanted Mate -
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 78 Book 2 Chapter 10
Celeste sighed as she rose up to a sitting position on the bed, rubbing at her eyes. She was sick, the dizziness from last night had dulled, but it still hadn’t eased up yet, and even though that was bad, she was glad that Xavier was by her side.
Unlike every other morning, he hadn’t left before she woke up, he was here, trying his best to take care of her. He brought her food and of course forced her to eat it, he brought her to the bathroom and they had brushed their teeth together and he brought her back to the room and they were now laying together.
But Celeste was tired of just laying down, she wasn’t used to it. She wanted to go out and train, she wanted to once again try to beat Xavier in a game of chase, but she doubt he’d let her step through the door… at least not without him.
Sighing again, she turned to look at him. “Can I go outside?”
“This again? Celeste go to sleep…”
“I don’t want to sleep, I tried…I just can’t…”
“Do you feel better then?”
Celeste shook her head.
“Then no.” He sat up, throwing an arm over her shoulder and pulling her against his chest. “I don’t understand the pattern of this thing though…the first time you fell ill was the night after I brought you here and it lasted for a whole week… I thought that it was because you were new to the environment and perhaps it was. Two weeks after, it happened again and it lasted for just two days, I understood why though, I had forced you to eat even though you didn’t want to, but what’s the explanation now… It is because you’re…you…”
“Because I what?”
“Because you ate late or probably because you ate something bad…I should scold whoever made you food, or probably I should scold you for eating it.”
“I…I didn’t…I just…” She peeked up at him. “Don’t.”
Xavier chuckled, “Don’t worry, I won’t scold you…”
“Promise?”
Xavier nodded.
“Then what if I asked you to go outside again?”
“Then maybe I would let you, as long as you can promise that you won’t fall over and die.”
“I won’t…”
“Then come…” He shuffled off the bed and to his feet, stretching out his hand to her. “Some fresh air would be nice.”
Celeste took his hand and together they walked outside.
“Do you still feel dizzy? How about your legs…are they weak?”
Celeste shook her head, waving at two kids who were playing outside. “I’m okay Xavier…”
“But I don’t think you are… How about we go for a walk? I’ll carry you on my back since I’m not comfortable with you walking on your own while you’re sick.”
“But I can walk.”
“Ye right…” He stopped in front of her. “Get on.”
Celeste scratched her arm, looking from him to the people around them. “Xavier I—”
“Don’t you want to go for a walk?”
“Yes bu—”
“Get on, little devil, I’ll change my mind in three.” He lifted his hand, putting up three fingers and as he counted, he deducted one. “One…two…thre—”
Celeste quickly leant down, wrapping her arms around his neck. “You’re so annoying…”
“And you’re so shy…I bet your cheeks are red now.”
“Shut up…”
Xavier chuckled as he grabbed her thighs, raising to his full height as though he was only carrying a feather on his back. “As if I’ll ever shut this mouth of mine…”
Celeste glared at the left side of his face, clicking her tongue. “Just as I expected…”
She held onto him tighter, ignoring the now dull headache as he walked forward into the woods. This was why she liked him; he cared about her, he loved her…and she couldn’t wait for the day when she could wholly love him back.
Throughout these two months, he had treated her much better than Zillon ever could…his smiles were so contagious and she only felt comfort when resided beside him. They weren’t mates and yet it felt as though they were meant.
It seems Zillon was right, the moon goddess did make mistakes; Zillon really wasn’t supposed to be her mate, it was Xavier…
Only he knew how to love her and he did it flawlessly. He was so patient with her and he managed to keep his cool even though he was an alpha like Zillon.
He didn’t restrict her from anything unless it was really dangerous, he gave her freedom and told her that she was strong despite being an omega.
He was so perfect and manly, but he was a bloody liar as well.
“Hey Xavier…I forgot to ask, but about the ghost that hums in the bathroom…”
“What about her?”
“Gabriel told me that it’s all a lie!”
“And you believe Gabriel over me?”
Celeste shook her head. “No and that’s why I asked Davia about it too…she said there’s no such thing as ghosts and even if they do exist, they wouldn’t be in our bathroom…why did you lie?”
“I guess you caught me red-handed.” He chuckled, stepping over a tree stump that was in the way. “You always train too hard…you should at least go to bed before 8:00, but you’re a stubborn girl, thus why I made up a ghost to scare you in early.”
“You’re evil, you know that? Even though I’m a brave fighter, I was still scared.”
“You’re lucky I didn’t tell you that if you spoke or asked about her, she’d visit your dreams. That way you wouldn’t have asked Gabriel or his mate about anything.”
“Tonight I’m not going into that bathroom until it strikes 10:00pm. You shouldn’t have lied, if you had asked nicely, I would’ve listened.”
“Test me, Celeste…you’ll get to know how evil I really am tonight.”
“Bet…”
