The Alpha's Unwanted Mate -
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 85 Book 2 Chapter 17
Celeste wasn’t sure if she was suppose to feel guilty or victorious. Zillon was now going through all the pain she had previously felt, but Liam’s words kept rolling around her head.
He said something about Zillon enduring enough, but had Zillon yet to endure all that she had?
Had he yet to feel all the pain and sufferings she had to bear…all the heart ache, the unpleasant desperation and the unrequited love?
She was sure he hadn’t and even if he had, she wouldn’t care… She had moved on and he needed to do the same…
Sighing, she took a seat on the edge of her bed, it was still night and she still hadn’t gotten any sleep…she kept thinking back to the awful occurings that took place only hours ago, the b***d, the unfortunate deaths, and Xavier.
She wondered if he had woken up yet, she wondered if he was okay… That poor man, he had been so confident that Zillon would never be able to replace them even if he tried…
That night two months ago when she had crossed the borders, even after taking his hand she wasn’t sure. She had known the Forrester pack all her life and she thought leaving it would only bestow more disaster upon her life.
Rogues were always looked down on, and at first she really didn’t want to be one. When she had stopped walking and told him she’d turn back, he had let her go, he wasn’t at all forceful.
He told her that it was her call…
‘Go back home and suffer or come with me and replace yourself as well as your happiness…’
She wasn’t sure why she had chosen to go with him, but the word happiness had appeased her. If she went with him and still couldn’t replace happiness, then she could always leave, that’s what he had went ahead and said…and Celeste took the chance.
It was a hassle to get her down that cliff and she was honestly scared and reluctant, but Xavier had talked her through it and somehow, she ended up holding tightly to his back, eyes clenched shut and heart beating faster than it ever had…
There was so much fear in her heart, she couldn’t stop thinking that she’d fall, that she’d die, but if she did die, perhaps none of this would’ve happened. His pack would’ve still been safe and he wouldn’t be in a dungeon right now.
He shouldn’t have pitied her, he should’ve left her to suffer and then right now he wouldn’t be the one suffering. Running her hand through her thin, blond hair, she laid down against the pillow, her eyes fluttering shut. She’d see him tomorrow, she would stop at nothing to see for herself that he was safe. She’d beg Zillon if she had to…no matter how much that would hurt her pride.

Celeste woke up when the sun was bright outside, only to replace Zillon seated at the edge of her bed, looking straight down at her. She scooted back a bit, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. “What are y—?”
“Good morning, kitten…”
Celeste wrinkled her nose at the nickname. “Don’t call me that, Celeste is fine.”
“Ki…Celeste…”
“What?”
“Can you stop now? I’m tired…I feel so helpless, just let me explain myself, let me set things straight…please.”
“I really can’t stop and if setting things straight is your aim, then it makes no sense you explain yourself because there’s nothing to set straight, our relationship had been bent from the beginning.”
“Celeste please…”
“Leave me alone.” She turned away from him, facing the walls instead. “I want to see Xavier, even if it’s just a glance.”
“No.”
Even when he was desperate, he was still controlling… Celeste sighed. “I-I’ll listen…if you let me see him, I’ll listen to whatever it is that you to say.”
Hope circulated around his eyes as he looked down at her. “You promise?”
Celeste nodded, sitting up on the bed. “But listening doesn’t guarantee you my forgiveness. I really don’t care about that night, but if you’re so eager to have me listen, I will. Can we go now?”
Zillon looked towards the door. “Yes, but Liam and Fredd has to come…my emotions have been switching from calm to anger often lately, they kinda keep me in check.”
Celeste shrugged, “I don’t care if you want to bring the whole pack along with you, I just want to see him.”
Zillon swallowed, his palm burning due to the tight clench of his fist. He rose to his feet, walking over to the door. “Come then…”
His words were so tight, his throat almost dry. Why did she have to think about Xavier so earlier in the morning?
Instead of Xavier, why not ask if he was okay?
Yesterday, she almost killed him, her words, her sharp eyes, everything was so deadly, he honestly thought he’d die, especially when instead of consoling him, trying to help him, she pushed him away.
She was so cold, such a different person from the angel he use to know. He was so sorry that everything he put her through was what caused her to change, if he had left Celeste from the very beginning, then perhaps instead running away, she would’ve stayed to replace out just what was going on.
She probably thought that he had gone back to his old ways, that he still didn’t know what he wanted…or perhaps she thought she just wasn’t enough for him.
She had given him her all, he didn’t have to ask, he knew, but his incompetence had stopped him from giving her his all too.
Opening up the door, he waited for her to walk through it before stepping outside himself…
He walked down the stairs behind her, noticing that the curves she had before she left still remained. Her h**s were even wider now, her bum—
Zillon shook his head, gripping the staircase and turning away. He could barely hold his composure already, looking would only throw him into deeper torment.
Quickening his feet, he walked in front of her, heading straight for the living room. As soon as he got there, he sought for Liam who sat on the couch. He walked over, gritting his teeth as he spoke. “Celeste wants to see Xavier…please accompany us.”
“What? Are you really taking her to see that traitorous bastard? Lock her back in her room, we had lost enough because of that fool, do you want to lose her too?”
