The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 87 Book 2 Chapter 19

“Look at him, the f*cking idiot can’t even move and you know why? It’s because of you and his lousy brother. He loves you more than he does his own self, he knew that bringing you down here would cause him pain and he still did and yet in front of him, you’re asking another man to k**s you? If he truly loved you, it wouldn’t have been this bad, but Xavier is just using you…”

“W-What?” Celeste’s eyes zoomed in on Zillon who was stooped against the floor, hanging to his chest as though his life depended on it. His face was buried against the wall and even from here, Celeste could see how tight his jaws were gritted. “W-What do you mean?” She asked, the matebond tying knot around her heart.

Was he really that pitiful because of her?

Did he really lov—?

Celeste shook her head, looking away from him and to Liam with a frightened look. “I don’t understand, I don’t k—”

“You see that pain his brother is now enduring? That’s what Xavier wants to see. He wants revenge and you are his only way to get it. He knew he couldn’t beat Zillon in a fight and thus why he’s trying to use you to fight him instead. You’re the only one who can hurt him…even without touching him… you’re just a mere thread on Xavier’s needle, you’re a pawn, just like your stupid siste—”

“Liam st-stop…”

Liam turned to Zillon, not liking how weak and strained his voice sounded. “No, for her to come to her senses, this needs to be done…for her to stop hurting you, this needs to be done. He’s using her to get to you and instead of playing along, as your beta, your friend and hers…I’m telling her the truth.”

Celeste wrung her wrist out of Liam’s hand, once again stooping before Xavier’s cell. “They are lying, aren’t they?”

Xavier looked towards her, smiling softly. “Do you even have to ask? I’m truly hurt that you really asked me something that is so blatant. Is the time I spent with you not enough for you to see that they are lying? Why would I use you to get to him? That’s all in the past, I forgave and I forgot, but sadly you’re the only person I couldn’t leave behind. Don’t listen to them, they’re just looking for someone to pin the blame on. That pain he’s going through is something you’ve went through yourself… don’t mind him, let him bear all that he had previously done to you, it’s only fair.”

“But I—”

“Sweets…don’t tell me you believe them, don’t tell me that you pity him…don’t tell me you’ll leave me for him…” He gripped onto the bars, looking up at her with desperate eyes. “Don’t tell me that.”

Celeste shook her head. “I won’t, I don’t believe them, I’d never believe something so absurd, and you’re right, this pain is fitting for a bastard like him.” She covered his hands over the bars with hers. “I’ll get you out of here and we’ll reunite right after…”

She rose to her feet, eyes not once meeting Zillon who was still groaning on the floor. “If you don’t mind, I’d like to go back to prison since it isn’t a room anymore.”

Liam nodded. “So this is how you’ll play? But then again, you’ll be the one to feel pain in the end and I wish by then, Zillon will ignore your pain too.”

He gripped her arm tightly, dragging her away from the cell. “Zillon? Can you walk?”

Zillon nodded. “Yes, but I’d like to speak with my brother before coming back up, go back without me.”

Liam nodded with a straight face, hauling Celeste pass Zillon who was just a step away from Xavier’s cell.

Zillon waited until they’ve disappeared up ahead before creeping towards his brother’s cell. He sat by the bars, staring at Xavier who too sat in front of the bars, head held down. “Stop this now Xavier, or you’ll be sorry in the end.”

Slowly, Xavier raised his head, displaying his face expression to Zillon. As unexpected as it may sound, Xavier was smiling at him, the twitch of his lips seeming so spiteful and mocking. “Do you really think I’d stop? It’s enjoyable, just watching you suffer like I did brings me joy. How does it feel to ‘feel’ unwanted though? I’d like to know, knowing would make me even more ecstatic.”

“Xavier!”

Xavier chuckled, licking his lips. “You had always been the favourite kid and now I understand how you felt back then since I’m now Celeste’s favourite. She’s so clueless, I treated her the best way possible even though she’s carrying your child. I really can’t believe I didn’t get to mark her, just a second later and you wouldn’t be able to call yourself her mate anymore…her skin was delectably soft, my teeth were dying bite into it and she was so desperate to forget about you too, how pitiful.”

Zillon gripped the bars. “I should’ve sunk my teeth deeper into your f*cking neck, I really should’ve killed you.”

“And ‘my’ Celeste would’ve hated you more.”

“Your Celeste?” Zillon took a deep breath in, trying to calm himself down. “Even if you had marked her, she still would’ve been mine because I would’ve bitten right into your f*cking mark and replace it with mine.”

“That’s unfortunate because she wouldn’t have let you.”

“And so what? Does it look like I care? This battle you’ve started, I’ll win it and I’ll revenge all the pack members I lost because of you. You took my mate away from me and yet that wasn’t enough…every night we’d lose a patrol man for two months straight, no matter how much we tried to avoid it. You’re ruthless Xavier and I will kill you with my own hands.”

“Do as you please brother, I’ll be right here waiting.”
