THE BILLIONAIRE IS INFATUATED WITH HIS EX-LOVER
Chapter 5: Boss's sexy secretary

Returning home, Sara was deeply annoyed, spending the entire time in silence, which puzzled Jessica, prompting her to inquire persistently. "So, did you meet him at last? What did he say? What kind of person is he? You're driving me crazy."

"Stop asking; I'm also boiling with anger here. What on earth is he?"

Sara paced back and forth, simulating Leon's demeanour, recounting every word, every syllable.

"Miss Roberts, I've been around for years and never seen anyone as hot-tempered as you..."

"Is that so? Did he say that? You're making me burst out laughing. What else did he say? Your man is quite intriguing."

"What do you mean 'your man'? He's so peculiar that I don't know if he accidentally took the wrong medication or what. But I won't back down."

"You're planning to compete with him? If it's too difficult, give up. We're women; why bother competing with men? Let them surrender on their terms."

"Exactly, I'll make him admit defeat," Sara said with a mischievous laugh, her mood vastly different. Jessica had never seen her friend behave so strangely, wondering if Leon had infected her.

"Jessica, you're truly a good friend of mine." Sara hugged Jessica tightly, leaving her puzzled about why her mood could change drastically in a single day. Jessica tried to push her away but ultimately failed.

When Leon entered the room, he saw Mark waiting for him. Leon sat down and picked up the newspaper in front of him to read - instead of watching the news on TV or browsing social media, he had the habit of reading the newspaper every morning. Mark nervously handed him a thick file.

"Sir, our partner just sent over an exclusive distribution contract for a new cosmetics line, which contains many favourable terms for us..." "She didn't come today?"

"Who, sir?" Mark looked puzzled, not knowing whom the boss was referring to because he had never seen him show interest in women.

"I get it; she has given up, right?"

Suddenly, the door swung open, high heels sound echoed, and a beam of light shone directly toward Leon, surprising him and Mark. A slender girl with a natural makeup style, dressed in elegant office attire unlike their first encounter, approached politely.

"Hello, boss, who said I've given up?"

Leon's gaze lingered with a hint of fascination on his cold face, focusing intently on the newspaper.

"You're late, so You can't blame me."

"Quickly make me a cup of hot coffee."

"Yes, sir." Mark bowed and immediately left but was called back after going a step.

"Who said you could leave?"

Mark looked puzzled; Leon put down the newspaper and shifted his gaze to Sara, who was engrossed in her phone.

"Disturb Miss Roberts."

Sara immediately reacted displeasedly, as someone arrogantly mistook her for a servant.

"I'm here as a secretary, not a lackey. Don't be overly demanding."

"This is the secretary's duty."

"Then let him do it; he's also a secretary."

"Then you can leave; cooperation from now on doesn't need to be considered."

Anger boiled inside Sara, wishing she could make him disappear from her sight immediately, but due to her promise to her father, she had to endure. Sara took a deep breath and glared at Leon, muttering, "Just hold back this time." "So, what type of coffee would you like?"

"Any type is fine."

"It's rare to see you being so easy-going; wait for me momentarily."

Sara turned away, her fist clenched tightly, ready to explode someday.

Leon smiled faintly at Sara's demeanor, not understanding why such a proud and high-minded person could easily change. Why did she come just to let him boss her around, something she had never done with anyone, not even her father? Mark, standing beside them, couldn't understand why the boss was so talkative today when he usually strictly adhered to the rule of not speaking more than three sentences to anyone. Mark shook his head softly.

Sara had never made coffee before and didn't know where the coffee machine was. She asked someone until she finally managed to bring up a cup as Leon had requested. But as soon as he took a sip, he hastily spat it out, his face expressing annoyance and reproach.

"Do you even know how to make coffee?"

"I see everyone drinking coffee from that machine; what's wrong with it? Why are you irritated with me?"

"I'm allergic to sugar, and you added so much; that's why I'm annoyed."

"Why didn't you make it clear from the beginning and even say 'any type is fine'?"

"Knowing the boss's preferences is the duty of a secretary; if you can't do it, then resign. Do you understand?"

Sara thought he was becoming more and more unreasonable; when the project ended, she wouldn't hesitate to leave, and before she went, she'd teach him a lesson. For now, she has to endure and wait for the right moment. Sara curled her hands tightly, appearing calm on the outside, but inside, she just wanted to strangle Leon to death.

"Sir, besides being allergic to sugar, are you allergic to anything else?"

"When the time comes, I'll tell you."

Sara left with the coffee, and Mark whispered to Leon.

"Sir, when did you become allergic to sugar?"

"Just now, didn't you notice?"

"Boss, are you sure you don't have a prejudice against her?"

"Do you think I'm the petty man who compares with women? How long have you been following me? Have I ever unjustly discriminated between men and women, or are I irritable with subordinates? If she can't work with me, how can she survive elsewhere?

Leon made Mark didn't dare to believe his ears. Everyone at the company knows Leon is difficult to approach, if not strange. Yet he dares to assert that he is very lenient with his subordinates. Leon's move was truly unexpected.

Since reencountering Sara, Leon seemed to have taken the wrong medication, been irritable, or been nitpicking on trivial matters as if intentionally. Mark speculated Leon's outward dissatisfaction with this girl concealed more profound, harder- to-decipher thoughts. Mark had been by Leon's side for years and had never seen him so talkative with anyone before.
