Dr. Peter was taken aback to discover that Brittany's distress was due to matters of the heart.

"Miss, did he make the first move?"

"No, I've only seen him a few times," Brittany clarified. "It was love at first sight. For the past six months, I've felt like I was missing something crucial. When I saw him, it was as if I found what I had lost." Dr. Peter smiled gently. "Have you talked to Mr. Lynette about this?"

"Not yet," Brittany shook her head. "I was hoping to keep this between us for now."

Falling for a married man wasn't something to be proud of. If her father found out, she'd be mortified.

Dr. Peter lowered his gaze. "Miss, we can't control who we fall for, but there's a natural order to these things. If he's already got a family and he reciprocated, that's on him."

Brittany was vague, but from her demeanor, Dr. Peter could tell she was holding back. He didn't press her for more details.

After the session, Dr. Peter spoke privately with Yuri for over an hour, learning that Brittany had developed feelings for someone other than Willard.

Yuri was somewhat disappointed but still showed his support.

"Mr. Lynette, the miss wishes to keep this matter private for now."

"Understood."

After Dr. Peter left, Yuri set out to trace Brittany's recent whereabouts, aiming to uncover the identity of her affection. Unfortunately, his search turned up nothing.

Post-visit, Brittany seemed much more composed. That evening, she called Willard.

"Mr. Willard, I'm sorry."

She couldn't muster any feelings for Willard. Willard was undoubtedly a catch, but it wasn't about being outstanding for her; it was about love. Willard probably sensed Brittany's stance. She was too composed around him, lacking the spark of romance. "Ms. Lynette, is there really no chance for us?"

Brittany remained silent.

Fortunately, Willard didn't persist. "Can we still be friends, then?"

Brittany happily agreed. "Of course."

From any perspective, Willard was a great guy, and staying friends was a plus for Brittany.

After gently turning down Willard, Yuri tried setting Brittany up with a few more dates. Perhaps influenced by a dream, Brittany slowed her pace. She met them, but nearly all attempts ended in failure.

Yuri tried to get the truth out of her, both openly and covertly, but Brittany never admitted to having someone special in her life. He couldn't outright confront her about it.

Time flew, and soon it was early autumn. Brittany had arranged a passport for Daniel in advance, taking him to Imperial City.

Brittany grew up in Imperial City, but sadly, she had forgotten nearly everything about it. Over the past six months, she reconnected with KariHannah, who never mentioned their past.

Upon arriving in Imperial City, Brittany headed straight for the luxury hotel she had booked. With a busy schedule, Daniel stayed at the hotel while Brittany was out.

When Noel found out about their return, he cleared his schedule to visit. After half a year, Daniel had grown taller. Noel had shed his last bit of youthful innocence, becoming almost a mirror image of Isaac, decisive and ruthless. Strangers dared not approach him carelessly.

"Uncle Noel."

Hugging Noel, Daniel felt a long-missed gentleness. "It's good to be back."

...

Brittany's return was for business expansion. Her schedule was tight, with meetings with branch managers in the morning and site visits in the afternoon.
