Chapter 641 Brittany

let out a heavy sigh, trying her best to keep her emotions in check.

Isaac came back into the room. He was now dressed in black pajamas, with shopping bags in his hands. "Nathan sent these clothes over. Yours are in there too. You can change into them tomorrow morning." Brittany pulled the covers over herself, grumbling, "No need. I brought my own clothes."

Isaac saw her embarrassment, but he didn't call her out on it. He walked over to the bed and climbed in.

The hotel bed was more than seven feet wide, so there was plenty of space for three people to lie down comfortably.

But Brittany could still feel the overpowering aura emanating from Isaac, causing her to instinctively draw back.

She clung to Daniel, shrinking into herself as much as she could.

Isaac reached over to flip off the light, and the room was plunged into darkness.

In the darkness, her senses seemed heightened. Brittany could even feel the press of Isaac's intense aura from beneath the duvet.

She closed her eyes, forcing herself to sleep.

Isaac was also uncomfortable. As a man who hadn't been with a woman for five years, it was torturous to have the woman he loved right beside him, yet he couldn't do anything.

He closed his eyes, trying to control his emotions. He couldn't afford to act rashly again. He didn't want to scare Brittany, let alone do something irreversible.

His breathing gradually steadied as he realized that Brittany had already fallen asleep.

He opened his eyes as his gaze landed on her. There was a hint of desire in his eyes.

When Brittany woke up, Daniel was nowhere in sight. The space beside her was empty.

If it weren't for the crumpled sheets, she would have thought that everything that had happened last night was just a dream.

She got up and looked around the room, but found no one.

Breakfast was laid out on the table, along with a note.

"Daniel needs to go back to school. We're heading back to Imperial City first. Come back as soon as you can."

Brittany stared at the note with her lips pressed together.

They flew all the way here just for dinner and a night's sleep?

Could Daniel handle all this back-and-forth travel?

She heard a knock at the door. It was the secretary. "Ms. Dustin, it's time to leave."

They had some projects with the Martinez Corporation. Once she had finished the negotiations, she could go back to Imperial City.

"I know."

Brittany crumpled the note into a ball. She was going to throw it away, but she changed her mind and smoothed it out, sticking it onto the table.

She ate her breakfast, ready to start a new day of work.

Leo Martinez's attitude remained the same over the next few days. On the last day, he invited her to dinner.

Leo walked up to Brittany. "Ms. Dustin, I apologize for what happened before. I didn't know you were married."

Brittany knew she couldn't hide it from Leo. She gave a small smile. "Actually, we ended things a long time ago."

If it weren't for Daniel, she wouldn't want to have anything to do with Isaac.

Leo had seen the news about their estrangement, but Isaac had not been involved with any other woman over the years. It was clear that he was waiting for Brittany. And they were still married. A reconciliation was only a matter of time. "Ms. Dustin, if you two ever decide to have a wedding, make sure to invite me."

Brittany thought this was unlikely. She raised her glass and clinked it with Leo's, ready for one last hurrah.

That night, Brittany and her team boarded the plane.

By the time she arrived in Imperial City, it was already late at night. She returned home to replace Daniel missing.

Isaac had taken him back to Radiant Residences.

Brittany missed him terribly, but it wasn't appropriate to go see him so late at night. So she freshened up and went to bed.

After a week of hard work, Brittany was finally able to rest. Even when she woke up, she didn't want to get up.

After resting for a full day, Brittany received a call from Hannah. "Bri, my brother's getting married soon. Do you want to help me set up the wedding venue in advance?" Brittany had been so busy with her business trip that she forgot that Lionel's wedding was at the end of the month.

"Sure."
