Chapter 642

Brittany rolled out of bed, grabbed some breakfast, and then headed over to Hannah's place.

Tanya Chester had just had surgery and was recovering well.

She was chilling in bed. She would supposedly be able to wheel herself to Lionel's wedding by the end of the month. Brittany and Hannah walked upstairs, catching Lionel just as he was finishing up work.

Brittany said hello to Lionel.

Lionel loosened his tie and took a glance at Brittany. "Weren't you supposed to be out of town in H city?"

"All done." Brittany grinned. "Lionel, where are you off to?"

"I'm heading out of town for work. I will be back tomorrow or the day after."

Brittany was taken aback. "Lionel, aren't you getting married? How come you're still swamped with work?"

"Yeah, I've set aside a day." Lionel went downstairs and left in a hurry..

Brittany watched his retreating back. Just a day for his wedding? What about their honeymoon?

"It's okay; my brother has always been like this. He's a total workaholic." Hannah shrugged. "It's a good thing his future wife doesn't mind, or else she'd have dumped him ages ago." "Have you met his future wife?"

"I have; she comes from a decent family, and looks nice but she seems a bit cold."

Hannah was pretty subtle; the girl was all right, except she didn't seem to be into Lionel.

Lionel was the same; he had zero feelings for her. They were basically marrying for benefits.

Brittany had her own love-life issues, so she didn't judge. They grabbed their stuff and went to the wedding venue.

The only son of the Chester family was getting married, so the event was a big deal.

The Chester family booked a whole mansion, and on the day of the wedding, there would be roses all over the place.

Brittany and Hannah got busy decorating the lounge and started blowing up balloons to make arches.

By the time they were done, it was already 6 in the evening.

They returned to Hannah's and had dinner with Tanya and Blake. Brittany naturally stayed over at Hannah's. The two hadn't shared a bed in a while. Brittany, wearing Hannah's pajamas, asked, "How are things with Derek?" "Not bad." Hannah raised an eyebrow. "He's Isaac's man. There's no way I'd date someone from Isaac's camp!"

Anyway, Derek had a thing for Loraine before, so he might have just been feeling guilty.

"Derek's actually a decent guy; even though he had eye issues, they're sorted now." Brittany said, "If you're into him, give it a shot."

Hannah leaned against the headboard. "I wouldn't say I'm into him. I just feel like he won't be into me like he was with Loraine."

Lately, Derek was a lot more rational; even though he was around her often, she couldn't replace that initial spark anymore. Brittany couldn't answer, so she changed the subject. "In a few days, I'll take you to meet my son." ""Your son with Isaac?"

Hannah was genuinely surprised. Brittany's child had survived and was brought back to Salter Manor by Isaac.

Had she known earlier that the child was Brittany's, she would've stolen him and given him back to Brittany. "He's your son too. You're his godmother."

A subtle smile appeared on Hannah's face. "Of course, I'll have to prepare a present for him; I can't disappoint him."

Hannah was always generous. Brittany was worried she might spoil Daniel, but then she thought about how rich Isaac was, and yet he didn't spoil Daniel, which meant the kid had a good character.

They chatted the whole night and eventually ended up talking about William.

"Bri, it's really a pity about you and William."

"I can't have the whole Dillion family suffering because of me."

"Do you really like William?" Hannah thought love should be the base of any relationship.

Brittany did have feelings for William, but those feelings weren't the same as love.

Brittany looked at Hannah and choked up a bit.
