Chapter 672

Isaac whisked Brittany away, silencing the surrounding guests who wisely refrained from discussing the incident any further.

William didn't expect Mrs. Dillion to treat Brittany so harshly; his face was ashen as he genuinely requested, "Mom, please be nicer to Bri." "You..."

"Enough, just drop it," Timothy interjected, clearly impatient, "William's right. If it weren't for Ms. Dustin, we would've been kicked out of Imperial City long ago. Why are you targeting her?" Mrs. Dillion felt indignant on William's behalf and feared he would keep pursuing Brittany, potentially missing out on a better match.

Turning on his heel, William went away.

Olivia chased after him, "William/wait for me."

Brittany, having been led away by Isaac, pulled her hand back, "Thank you."

She didn't expect Isaac to help her out like that:

To Isaac's surprise, she even thanked him. His anger, initially triggered by her interaction with William, dissipated as he said, "Avoid him in the future."

Brittany remained silent. She didn't want to argue with Isaac in public, nor did she wish to be the target of everyone's criticism.

As the wedding began, Shona changed into her wedding dress and stood hand in hand with Ryan on the soft sandy beach; the endless ocean was behind them, too beautiful to resist. Brittany took her seat among the guests. Having attended many weddings recently, she felt somewhat numb.

After a few rounds of toast, Brittany excused herself to the restroom.

When she returned, she saw Carla, who looked just as beautiful as she remembered. Carla seemed surprised to see her but gave a warm smile.

Their relationship wasn't particularly deep, so there wasn't much to catch up on.

After Carla left, Brittany felt a sudden pang in her chest as if something had quietly collapsed.

She returned to her seat and sat down.

Isaac poured her a cup of coffee and calmly asked, "What took you so long?""

"Retouching my makeup, it took some time."

Isaac didn't question further and continued to fuss over Brittany, regardless of the onlookers.

When the wedding was over, Isaac and Brittany said their goodbyes.

But before they could leave, a commotion erupted from the lounge, followed by a resounding slap!

"William, how dare you take advantage of my sister!"

Realizing something was wrong, Brittany rushed towards the lounge to figure out what had happened.

Isaac followed closely behind her, "Slow down."

The lounge was crowded. William lay on the floor, bloodied. Carla, her clothes disheveled, sat on the bed, her face pale with fear.

The young man who had slapped William looked as if he wanted to tear him apart, his palm still stinging from the impact.

Mrs. Dillion let out a gasp and fainted.

Olivia tried her best to steady her, but the scene was chaotic.

Guests were whispering, the Salter family was shouting angrily, and Carla's sobbing filled the room. Through the crowd, William looked up and saw Brittany standing at the door. With just a glance, Brittany understood how William must have felt when she was trapped in a room with Isaac.

Her fists clenched tightly; her eyes rimmed with red.

William managed a weak smile as if to say he was fine, but the next moment, he collapsed from blood loss.

Shona didn't expect such a violent scene at her wedding and immediately called an ambulance.

William was taken away to the hospital, Carla was escorted back to the Salter family's home, and the guests dispersed after the drama.

Back in their room, Brittany noticed a blood-stained fruit knife. She turned to Isaac and firmly asked, "Did you have anything to do with what happened tonight?"

William wasn't the type to bully others, let alone Carla.

If he had really lost control, why would he ruin his reputation in such a public setting?

The only explanation was that he had been set up by someone.
