Chapter 673

Isaac couldn't fathom why Brittany was doubting him. His heart felt like it was being suffocated by a wet cloth, his breath shaking as he denied, "It wasn't me."

Brittany stared deeply at Isaac, and then finally spoke after a long silence, "Let's just go home."

Leaving the wedding reception, Isaac received a call from Grace Salter, demanding that he return to Salter Manor immediately.

After hanging up, Isaac turned to Brittany in the backseat, "Bri, Grandma wants us to go back."

With such a scandal unfolding in a public setting, it couldn't be kept a secret even if they tried their best. The Salter family had to call an emergency family meeting to mitigate the damage. "I'll head back first then."

She wasn't a Salter, and she felt out of place in such a situation. Plus, she had somewhere else in mind where she wanted to be.

"You want to go to the hospital, don't you?"

Isaac caught on to her intentions, his gaze darkening, "No need. William has been brought to the Salter's."

Brittany was stunned by that information.

Isaac got in the car and Nathan drove them straight to Salter Manor.

The scandal had erupted suddenly, witnessed by the entire party and even some media, making it the talk of the town.

The Salters were absolutely livid.

Brittany could only imagine what price William would have to pay that time.

Upon arriving at Salter Manor, the entire mansion was brightly lit. Emily was waiting outside, and quickly approached them when she saw them arrive.

"Young Master, I'm glad you're here. The old lady is furious about the recent occurrence, please try to appease her."

Brittany got out of the car and nodded at Emily as a greeting.

Isaac knew that Brittany was there only because of William. Before entering the mansion, he whispered to her, "Don't speak once we're inside, and don't do anything rash." Like caring for William or doing something for him that she shouldn't in front of the elders.

"Mr. Salter, perhaps you should take care of yourself first. With such a scandal, who knows what the news will say tomorrow morning!"

Brittany brushed past him and walked straight into the mansion..

Isaac felt the sting of her words and let out a bitter laugh, following her inside.

The grand living room was filled with people. Grace's face was ashen, and the younger generations all wore serious expressions.

In the center of the room, Carla was kneeling on the plush carpet, her face filled with fear, dread, and unease.

Next to her was William. He didn't even have the time to change out of his bloody clothes. His forehead was bandaged, and he knelt on the floor, his expression unreadable: As if sensing her presence, William looked up and locked eyes with Brittany, who was standing at the entrance.

Brittany's eyes welled up with tears, but before she could even speak, Mrs. Dillion slapped William across the face, "William, how do you plan to handle tonight's incident?"

Mrs. Dillion was clearly trying to push for that marriage, and to warn William not to think about Brittany anymore.

William knelt upright, his lips pressed into a thin line as he accepted his fate, "Everything that happened tonight is my fault. If the Salter family wants to call the police, I'll cooperate." Carla's face turned pale as she was shocked, "William, would you rather go to jail than marry me?"

As long as he agreed to marry her, there would be a resolution to tonight's incident. She was willing to gamble that even if William didn't love her now; she could make him fall in love with her. William gave Carla an apologetic look, "Carla, I don't have feelings for you. Even if we got married, it would be a mistake."

Mrs. Dillion didn't expect William to be so stubborn, and her anger flared.
