She stepped into the bathroom, letting the warm water wash away the stress of her day.

Meanwhile, Isaac was just about to call Yuri Lynette when his phone rang.

Picking it up, he was greeted by an impatient voice. "Bri, why aren't you back yet? Eltham called, said you were feeling unwell?" "Dad, Bri's with me."

"Ridiculous!"

Yuri shot up from his chair. "You're blatantly keeping Bri at your place. Have you considered the consequences if people replace out?" "Dad, she's my wife. It's only natural she's with me."

Yuri fell silent, finally relenting. "She's pregnant. Take good care of her."

"Will do."

After hanging up, Isaac moved to his desk to catch up on some work.

Brittany, fresh from her bath and in her pajamas, saw him engrossed in his papers and felt a stab of concern.

She approached the desk and playfully snatched the documents from him. "Aren't you tired? Why are you still working?"

"I promised Elijah I'd finish this."

Worried about his health, Brittany insisted, "Time for bed."

Isaac agreed with a smile and led Brittany to their bedroom. As they lay down, he wrapped his arms around her waist naturally.

He was genuinely exhausted and fell asleep almost instantly.

Brittany nestled in his embrace, comforted by his steady heartbeat, feeling a sense of security.

The spacious bedroom was filled with their intertwined breathing, a sweet testament to their bond.

Isaac, having slept deeply for the first time in ages, woke up to replace Brittany still in his arms, peaceful and content. A soft warmth filled his gaze.

After a while, he got up, tucked her in properly, and changed into casual wear before heading downstairs.

He preferred not to bother the servants. Firstly, because he enjoyed his privacy, and secondly, to keep their matters confidential.

Entering the kitchen, he started preparing breakfast, recalling it had been months since he last made Brittany her favorite morning meal. It felt like a lifetime ago.

Half-asleep, Brittany was lured downstairs by the delicious aroma. She found Isaac, apron-clad, watching over a pot of simmering oatmeal, its comforting scent filling the air. "Zakky," she called out softly.

Isaac, seeing her awake, raised an eyebrow. "Go freshen up; breakfast is almost ready."

After a quick visit to the bathroom, Brittany returned fully awake to replace Isaac serving up a pot of creamy chicken oatmeal, her favorite, alongside some side dishes. "This is your favorite, chicken oatmeal, with some sides."

He served her a bowl, the oats cooked to perfection, the chicken broth sweet and the shredded chicken tender, melting in her mouth.

Brittany couldn't help but have two bowls, barely putting her spoon down. "Delicious."

Isaac, seeing her enjoyment, smiled. "If you like it, I'll make it more often."

"Let's not make it too often; you need rest," she countered, always concerned for his well-being.

But Isaac didn't mind at all.

After a fulfilling meal, Brittany clung to Isaac, not wanting to leave. They spent a couple more indulgent hours together before she had to return home.

Back at her place, Yuri was waiting. Seeing her contented face, he scoffed. "Where were you last night?"

"Dad, I was with Zakky," Brittany yawned, still full from breakfast and now sleepy. "Zakky already told you." Seeing her only have eyes for Isaac, Yuri couldn't help but sigh. "Just try to keep a low profile." "Got it."

Piper arrived early at the chess club.

After her conversation with Wallace, she received a call from the private detective. "Ms. Walker, Nathan is indeed in Craneville. He seems to be sticking close to Elijah."
