Chapter 799

Ronald had been making recurrent visits, and Kari was so scared she could hardly sleep.

When she finally managed to drift off, she was jolted awake to get dressed and put on makeup.

As part of the bride's family, Brittany was already at the wedding venue early in the morning.

The Jarvis family had also arrived.

Samuel Jarvis had a gentle and refined appearance; it was hard to believe that such an amiable man could cheat on his wife and allow his mistress to harm his spouse. Brittany greeted them and went off to the makeup room.

Samuel watched Brittany's retreating figure and asked someone, "Is that Mrs. Salter?"

"Yes, she's quite a formidable woman."

Mila looked disdainfully at Brittany; any woman who could have Isaac wrapped around her finger was definitely no simple character.

"Don't say such things." Samuel interjected, "Mrs. Salter's brand is very famous."

He had heard of Brittany and knew of her capabilities; he even harbored thoughts of collaborating with her.

It was normal for Mila, who was not involved in business, to be unaware of Brittany's reputation.

Unwilling to be left behind, Mila trailed behind them.

Before the wedding began, Willa met with the Jarvis family for the first time.

Her facial expression changed the moment she saw Samuel.

"Willa?"

Samuel recognized Willa and unintentionally called out her name.

Willa stared hard at Samuel, tears welling up in her eyes.

Nathan stood to the side. "Mom, what's wrong?"

Willa looked shakily at Nathan, "Is he your father?"

"Yes, is there a probl..."

"Smack!"

Willa slapped Nathan across the face, pushing him away, "My daughter will not marry you, never!"

The change of events was too sudden.

Nathan did not even have time to feel the pain. His only thought was to marry Kari. He quickly followed after Willa and yelled, "Mom!"

Willa dashed off to replace Kari.

"Kari, leave with me now!"

"Mom, what happened?"

Kari was startled when she saw her mother crying...

Her mother seemed delicate but incredibly resolute; she had never shed a tear.

Willa clutched Kari's wrist hard, looking at her for the first time. "You can't marry Nathan."

"Why?"

Kari was taken aback.

Willa wanted to continue speaking.

"Mom, did I do something wrong? Don't be angry..." Nathan had already changed his tone.

The moment he pushed the door open and stormed in, Willa picked up a vase and threw it at him violently. Her previous gentleness was gone, and she looked particularly irritable, "Nathan, take your family and get lost. Don't ever appear in front of my daughter again!" Nathan dodged instinctively.

Mila was enraged when she saw her son being hit. "What are you hitting him for? Do you really think we're dying to marry your daughter?"

"Even better!"

Willa pulled Kari along. "Let's go."

Kari was completely confused and had no idea what was going on. "Mom, what's going on? Why can't we get married?" Willa's eyes were red, "Do you remember how your father died?"

"A car accident."

Caleb Malone had died in a car crash years ago.

Willa raised her shaky hand. "Since you know, then come with me and cut off all ties with Nathan. Don't contact him again."

Kari turned pale.

Samuel could no longer sit still. "Willa, I was at fault for what happened back then. I can apologize to you. Whatever compensation you want, I can..."

"But can you bring my husband back to me?"

Willa exploded in anger, "Samuel Jarvis, you better take your son and get lost, or I'll make the Jarvis family pay for my husband's death!" Willa dragged Kari away. "Kari..." Nathan wanted to go after them.

"Stop!" Samuel stopped Nathan. "This wedding is off."

"No way." Nathan was furious. "The marriage between Kari and me is not for you to decide!"

Nathan rushed out, but the mother and daughter were nowhere in sight.

He stood there, desolation written all over his face..
