Hearing what Kara had said, her roommate felt a twinge of disappointment but didn't dare let it show too much before her. After all, mingling with society's elite gentlemen was their day-to-day dream. It was the quickest and most effective way to leapfrog social classes. "Okay then, you rest here for a bit. When the guy delivering the linens arrives, I'll have him help tidy up," the roommate offered.

Kara nodded, taking such conveniences for granted.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Assuming it was the delivery of bed sheets and duvets, the roommate quickly opened the door, only to replace not the expected delivery guy but Jenny and Eloise. "Eloise?"

The sight of these two made the roommate's eyes light up. Jenny was one thing, but Eloise was practically a celebrity on campus, the heartthrob of every male student.

Initially indifferent to the noise outside, Kara suddenly tensed up upon hearing Eloise's name. Why on earth would Eloise suddenly show up there?

Kara's anxiety flared when she remembered how Eloise had overshadowed her at the Sutton Group's office.

The dorms had their rules. One shouldn't stay there without paying the accommodation fees. After all, the residents were incredibly rich of high status. An intruder would upset everyone, and the school didn't want to offend these affluent young ladies. Thus, the school had set rules long ago against unauthorized stayovers.

As the student council president, Eloise had come to investigate after a dorm attendant reported the situation.

"A classmate of mine is temporarily homeless, so I said she could crash here for a bit while she sorts something out," the roommate explained.

"Your classmate? Name? I need to

When Jenny inquired, the roommate responded, "Her name's Kara. She's staying for a few days. Her boyfriend will pick her up soon!"

"Boyfriend?" Eloise interjected, her voice gentle yet authoritative, her smile disarming.

"Yes, Kara's engaged. But her fiancé's family doesn't want to tarnish her reputation, so she hasn't moved in with them yet. But I reckon it'll happen soon."

"So, no one told me Kara was tying the knot. Where's she at? Get her out here." Jenny's forwardness had the roommates trading awkward looks.
