Freya had only seen Caleb once at school, and even then, it was nothing more than a brief collision as she rushed past him, barely sparing him a glance.

She had assumed Caleb was passing through, stopping by to see Eloise before heading back overseas to continue his acting career. But it seemed Caleb planned to stick around for the long haul.

Oh no, that couldn't be worse. This guy seemed straight out of a romantic drama as the lovable third wheel and was smitten with Eloise. And if Caleb saw her, who knew what lengths he'd go to for Eloise?

Freya had seen too much of this drama unfold. The moment she spotted Caleb, the urge to turn tail and run was overwhelming.

But her legs wouldn't cooperate, and after finally leaving the academic building, there was no way she was going back up to invite more misery upon herself.

So, Freya kept her head down and walked toward the exit, hoping Caleb hadn't seen her. She was thankful that he seemed too busy looking for Eloise to notice her.

As Freya thought she was safe, a voice called behind her, "Hey there."

Caleb's voice was pleasant to the ear, which hinted at a gentleman.

But at that moment, Freya's spine stiffened. When she turned to look, she saw Caleb's face covered with a black mask, only his eyes visible and shining like polished gems, captivating enough to ensnare any unsuspecting girl. Freya pretended not to notice him and tried to keep walking, but Caleb grabbed her arm, accidentally touching a wound and making her wince in pain.

"I didn't mean to. Are you okay?" Caleb asked, concern in his voice.

"Yeah, fine," thought Freya, biting back her thoughts. What was he doing grabbing her like that? They weren't supposed to cross paths things followed the script of their past lives. Was he trying to back Eloise up by confronting Kieran, and she just happened to be in the way?

Freya was fuming, but Caleb said, "You've got something on your back."

So, he casually grabbed a piece of paper that was stuck to her back. It had "I'm a loser" written on it in big, bold letters.

There was no guessing needed.

after failing to get her way at the principal's office, she resorted to this childish prank.

"Are you... okay?" Caleb asked, his voice laced with worry.

Anyone could see Freya was a victim of bullying, with injuries all over and malicious notes stuck to her back.

Seeing the concern in Caleb's eyes,

Freya couldn't help but feel it was all
