The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains
Chapter 100 A Belated Apology

"In other words, you two are a true match," Abigail said.

"What's that?" Michael asked.

'The president of Smith Corporation doesn't even know what a true match is! Poor Emily, being with him all these years,' Abigail thought to herself. "A true match, simply put, means a perfect pair! Personality match, values match, in short, everything matches!" Abigail explained.

Seeing that Michael still didn't quite get it, Abigail decided to break it down even more.

"Think of it this way, you and Emily are definitely not a true match!"

As soon as she said this, the living room fell silent again.

Alright, she had put her foot in it again.

Seeing Michael's face darken, Abigail scratched her head helplessly and kept glancing at her phone screen, just wanting to ask, 'When is Emily coming?' The doorbell rang.

As it got darker, Ava thought it must be Emily this time. She ran to open the door with a face full of excitement, and this time she guessed right, but there was an unexpected addition.

"Ava, this is my friend, Daniel, here to help me move."

Hearing the word "move," Ava felt sad again.

"Mrs. Smith, do you really have to move? Aren't you doing well at Emerald Lake Manor?"

To be honest, Emily didn't know why she suddenly wanted to move. Logically, she didn't need to push herself so hard, especially since she wasn't financially well-off at the moment. Renting a house had already used up all her savings. Before she could answer Ava, Abigail had already rushed in from the living room. She hugged Emily tightly and gave her a big kiss.

"Oh my God! What are you doing!"

"What do you think I'm doing? You've been gone all afternoon, I missed you so much!"

Daniel watched them being affectionate the whole time, and just as he started to smile, he saw Michael.

To everyone, Michael seemed to bring a low-pressure atmosphere wherever he went, and the mood would plummet.

Everyone thought this time would be the same. Emily was even prepared to fight Michael to the end.

But unexpectedly, Michael politely invited them into the house and even asked Ava to serve tea, including to Daniel, who had come with Emily!

In the living room, Michael and Emily sat on one side, Daniel and Abigail on the other. The four of them stared at each other until Daniel finally spoke first. "Michael, I'm here to help Emily move."

His intention was very clear, and Abigail could sense a bit of confrontation in his words, more precisely, in the way Michael looked at Daniel.

Those deep eyes seemed to pierce through one's heart, and under the warm light of the living room, his aura exuded undeniable authority.

In contrast, Daniel's gentle demeanor carried a hint of unspoken power. To use a more chilling metaphor, he was like a gentle blade, each cut lethal yet delivered with a soft touch. What a truly remarkable confrontation!

It was a pity that Abigail wasn't a scriptwriter for romantic dramas; otherwise, she would have written this perfect male lead and second male lead scenario, and maybe the next hit would be hers! "Abigail."

Just as Abigail was lost in her fantasy, she saw Emily sitting across from her, giving her constant signals. It seemed to say, "What should I do now?"

Abigail decisively gestured to Emily, like, "You made this mess, you clean it up!"

Seeing Abigail's gesture, Emily immediately reflected on herself. Why did she have to bring Daniel to Emerald Lake Manor? Wasn't that like walking into the lion's den? Forget it, this matter could only be resolved by Emily herself. "Michael," Emily said.

Michael had been waiting all night to hear Emily call his name. He looked up expectantly.

Emily stood up, expressionless, and pointed to the study. "Let's talk."

Emily rarely went into Michael's study now. She used to go in often, bringing warm soup and supplements, staying all night.

But now, there was no affection between them, so why pretend? There were only a few people in the house, no need to put on a show for anyone.

As soon as she entered, the cold atmosphere of the study hit her. Emily took a deep breath, just about to speak when Michael spoke at the same time. "I..."

"You go first."

"No, you go first."

Tonight, Michael was unusually gentlemanly and polite, even speaking less.

Emily was surprised but could guess why. After all, they were about to get divorced, and she was about to move out.

A marriage in name only was ending, what was there to argue about? And, last night's incident must have scared Michael.

"I'm moving out, you must already know that," Emily said.

With that, Emily looked into Michael's eyes. She expected Michael to glare at her with a controlling gaze. But to her surprise, in that moment, Emily saw a plea in Michael's usually cold eyes. Blinking, Emily thought she must have seen wrong. "What were you going to say?"

"Yesterday's incident was my fault."

Emily thought she was hearing things. What did Michael just say?

"Which incident yesterday?"

Yes, a lot happened yesterday, was he going to take responsibility for what happened in the guest room?

"Of course, the things I said to you, I shouldn't have said that."

Michael hesitated, then continued, "I've already informed Andrew to transfer $250,000 to your account every month as your living expenses."

"You must accept it, consider it my compensation for the past three years. Of course, after the divorce, the division of assets will be settled separately, you don't need to worry about that."

Emily was stunned, and Michael took out a VIP card from his pocket.

"This is an unlimited VIP card. There is still some time before our divorce, and you won't cut ties with Grandpa so quickly, right?"

Emily answered without hesitation, "Of course not, Grandpa has been very good to me, I will visit him often."

Michael nodded, as if he had expected this. "Okay, in the future, you will inevitably have to deal with the people at the old mansion. Any expenses related to them will be covered by this card, you don't need to spend your own money, and you don't need to spend for them. This will save a lot of trouble."
