The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains
Chapter 99 Return to Emerald Lake Manor

"Who are you, old woman? I'm here to see Michael. You should be inviting me in and serving me tea properly!"

Feeling a sudden rush of superiority, Sophia added, "You know, I'm gonna be the new mistress of Emerald Lake Manor soon. If you're smart, you'll start sucking up to me now. Maybe I'll even give you a raise later." "Dream on!" Ava rolled her eyes at Sophia.

It was hard to tell if she was influenced by Abigail or if Emily moving out had really gotten to her.

She didn't care anymore and spat at Sophia.

At that moment, Ava had even thought through the consequences.

If Michael wanted to fire her, so be it!

With Emily gone, the house would be dead anyway. Why stick around?

If Sophia really moved in, working here would be a nightmare!

"Who do you think you are! Mr. Smith might like you, but so what? To me, you're just a passing guest. The real mistress of this house is Emily Brown, Mr. Smith's wife! I only take orders from her!"

Sophia had come to Emerald Lake Manor to mock Emily, maybe even run into Michael and annoy Emily enough to make her leave.

But she didn't expect to get chewed out by a servant before even getting through the door!

"How dare you talk to me like that! Do you really think Emily's gonna stay happy for long? She's about to get kicked out of the Smith family. Once she divorces Michael and I move in, I'll make your life hell!" "Who are you gonna make life hell for?" a voice interrupted.

Sophia thought no one was home.

But in a blink, Michael appeared, and behind him was another woman-not Emily, but Emily's best friend!

Could it be that Emily's best friend was also involved with Michael?

Sophia's face froze, and she stood there for a long moment before reacting.

"Michael, you're home. I thought..."

"Thought what? Thought Emily and I weren't home? So you could yell at my servant and threaten to fire her?"

Michael was already in a bad mood because of Emily.

Now with Sophia causing a scene, he found a perfect outlet for his frustration.

Sophia was just unlucky to run into an angry Michael.

"Michael, that's not what I meant. The servant insulted me first. I just wanted to see if you were home and have dinner with you!" As she spoke, Sophia tried to lean on Michael.

Abigail, seeing this, coughed twice at Michael, reminding him that she was there representing Emily and that he shouldn't go too far.

Michael, being smart, got the message.

He needed to keep his distance from other women since he hadn't divorced yet.

Plus, Michael wasn't so keen on divorcing Emily anymore.

Lately, he didn't want to get close to Sophia either, so he pushed her away and said bluntly, "I have things to do. You should leave."

Seeing Michael's cold expression and Abigail smirking behind him, with Ava glaring at her, Sophia realized the situation wasn't in her favor and decided to retreat.

Emily had finalized the house in the late afternoon. Daniel had helped her out big time. He not only considered the usual travel routes but also negotiated the price for Emily. It was a timely help for her. "Daniel, I don't know how to thank you. I'm really sorry for wasting your whole afternoon!"

"What are you talking about? How can you call it a waste? I'm happy to help you."

Hearing Daniel's response, Emily felt even more guilty. Especially recalling how Michael had rudely spoken to Daniel at the hospital and misunderstood his good intentions, Emily felt she needed to make it up to Daniel. After all, she and Michael were still a family, sharing both honor and disgrace.

"Daniel, how about this? I'll treat you to dinner. What do you want to eat? How about Mexican food?"

"Sure! But I should be the one treating you, Emily, to celebrate your new home!"

At this point, Emily remembered Abigail. "Oh, my goodness, Abigail is still helping me move. I forgot to contact her."

Saying this, Emily quickly took out her phone, and Daniel took the opportunity to say, "Then call her and invite her to join us for dinner!"

Although it meant having an extra person around, if he could win Abigail over, she might help him. Daniel was serious about pursuing Emily.

As he was happily thinking about this, he noticed Emily's expression change from cheerfulness to stiffness. He waited patiently until she hung up the phone and asked, "What happened?"

"Abigail ran into Michael while helping me move. Michael wants me to go back to Emerald Lake Manor now," Emily replied.

Despite Emily's repeated refusals, Daniel insisted on taking her to Emerald Lake Manor.

"I'll take you there. Once you sort things out, I'll pick you and Abigail up, and we can still have Mexican food! Besides, I have a car. I can help you bring all your stuff back, and you can organize it tonight. Don't refuse," Daniel said. With so many benefits laid out, Emily couldn't replace a suitable reason to refuse Daniel in a short time.

But Emily knew Michael so well that she feared that as soon as he saw Daniel, they would start arguing again. Thinking about this, Emily couldn't help but feel troubled.

Coupled with her physical exhaustion, a wave of nausea swept over her.

Meanwhile, at Emerald Lake Manor.

Michael suddenly ran to the bathroom to vomit and kept asking the servant for lemon water.

Abigail was puzzled and couldn't help but ask Michael, "What is wrong with you?"

As soon as she said it, Abigail realized she was being rude. Especially when Michael shot her a cold look, she quickly corrected herself. "I mean, Emily has also been feeling nauseous lately. She has a stomach problem. Do you have the same issue? It's rare for a couple to get sick together. It's hard not to think you two are meant to be!"
