The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains
Chapter 121 Arriving Just in Time

"Done reading? If you've got no issues, go ahead and sign it." In the study, Emily pushed the agreement across the desk towards Hayden, handing him a pen.

Both of them were pretty calm now, so they could talk things out. Emily said, "Brown Corporation will be renamed Taylor Corporation and will be under my control. You can pick any subsidiary you like. You're my dad; I won't let you and your family end up on the streets."

Emily continued, "Once you choose a subsidiary, it'll be separated from the main company. I don't want any more ties with you. The revenue from that subsidiary will be yours. Dad, that's a lot. It's enough for you to live comfortably for the rest of your life. It's just the two of us here. Honestly, I don't want things to get ugly. I hope you can step down, enjoy life, travel more, and relax."

Emily was offering the best subsidiary to Hayden, making sure he'd be taken care of for the rest of his life. She had given him enough respect and consideration. As long as Hayden accepted this, everything would go smoothly. But, greed often led to self-destruction.

Hayden looked at Emily, who was smart, capable, and methodical. He was just about to be convinced when he was startled by a commotion outside the door.

"Emily! You bitch, you think you can have it all! Not only do you want to take the main company, but you also want to leave Dad with a useless subsidiary. What are you trying to do? Make us beg on the streets?"

"Who do you think you are? What gives you the right to make decisions on your own? Dad put so much effort into Brown Corporation, and you think you can just take it and enjoy the fruits of his labor?"

It was Sophia. She couldn't hold back any longer; she was about to lose it.

Just the day before, she was dreaming of marrying into the Smith family as the daughter of the Brown family. And now, Hayden would be reduced to being the owner of a small company! Her standard of living would have plummeted, and Emily was to blame!

"Sophia, I'm not here to negotiate, so don't butt in," Emily said.

Emily was ready for this; she wasn't afraid of Sophia causing a scene.

Leaning back in her wooden chair, she lifted her eyelids slightly, looking at the angry Sophia with cold, ruthless eyes. She didn't look like a helpless heiress but rather a seasoned, domineering businesswoman.

Hayden was also taken aback by Emily's gaze. He knew that although Brown Corporation was obtained through shady means, he had worked hard to manage it for many years. He had always wondered if Sophia could take over after he was gone. But for now, Hayden didn't see any possibility in her.

Emily seemed so ordinary, with her small frame, not someone who could handle big responsibilities. He had always figured she'd end up marrying into a typical family, and whether her days were good or bad would be entirely up to fate. But today, he realized he was wrong from the start.

"Emily, you..." Sophia was speechless, but her temper flared up, and no one could stop her. She grabbed the agreement from the table, tore it to pieces, and stomped on it several times.

With Michael out of the picture, she had no need to keep up the act of being weak and helpless. At this moment, Sophia wanted to beat Emily up!

"Tear it up all you want. I have plenty of copies." With a cold, contemptuous smile, Emily looked up at the bewildered Hayden. "Didn't you tell Sophia that all documents for negotiations have backups? How can she do business with you if she's this stupid?"

Although Emily's tone was calm, without even a frown, every word hit home, leaving no room for retort.

If they couldn't retort, they could at least resort to physical actions, right? After all, they were at home, and Sophia wasn't afraid. She raised her hand to slap Emily, determined to fight back.

But unexpectedly, Michael had just walked in and saw the scene. The study was heated, with Hayden and Evelyn watching, Sophia attacking, and Emily defending. No one noticed Michael's arrival.

So when Sophia was pushed to the ground, she almost twisted her back.

"Sophia!" Evelyn hurried to help Sophia.

Hayden, seeing Michael, couldn't get angry in his panic and could only sit down, avoiding eye contact.

Emily, on the other hand, was first surprised, then incredulous at Michael's arrival. He should have come with Sophia to bully her, so why was the situation turning the other way?

"Michael, how could you push me? It hurts so much. Why are you doing this to me?" Seeing Michael, Sophia's attitude changed completely. She pouted and whined to Michael. Emily sighed, knowing she could never learn to act like that. "Did you think about the reporters who might come back and see this scene? All my efforts to change public opinion would be wasted," Michael said.

So it was for himself. What had she been hoping for just now? She blinked, hearing Michael say to her, "What are you doing here?"

The transfer contract was torn up, making this trip a waste. Emily, frustrated, didn't bother to explain, especially since it had nothing to do with Michael. "Do I need to notify you before coming to my own home?" Michael felt embarrassed. He had just asked casually, not blaming her, so why was Emily so angry?

For a moment, both of them lost their tempers.

"Didn't I tell you not to go out?" Michael said.

"Just because you said so? What, do you think I'm your kept woman?" Emily retorted.

"Emily, don't be ungrateful," Michael said.

"You used me to clear your name of infidelity, and now you're turning it on me. Who's ungrateful here?" Emily retorted.
