The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains -
Chapter 212 Father and Daughter Sever Ties
Hayden knew he couldn't stick around any longer.
Ever since Emily's outburst at the Brown Villa, Hayden had been more and more scared of his own daughter. Seeing the situation, he could only purse his lips and stammer, "I came to see your mom, is that a crime? Do I need your permission?" Emily couldn't help but let out a cold laugh.
Seeing her attitude, which reminded him so much of Sophia, Hayden snapped. "A daughter laughing at her father? People would think we're a joke! Emily, I haven't even started with you yet!"
Emily shot back, "Isn't it hilarious? Mom's been in a coma for years, and now you decide to show up? Your timing is impeccable!"
"Don't tell me you've been too busy these past few years that you simply forgot about Mom, Hayden. We're both blunt people, so let's lay it all out. If you want to settle things with me, let's do it right now."
"And today, in front of my mom, let's talk about the Brown Corporation. Let her hear what you've been up to behind her back and what you've done to the company!"
Emily said all this in front of Daniel.
To Hayden, Emily's public scolding was beyond humiliating. "You're such an ungrateful brat, Emily! I raised you, got you married, and this is how you repay me by humiliating me? You give your half-dead mother a nice hospital room. And what about me? I haven't gotten anything from you!"
"You already have the Brown Corporation, you already have my mom's most valuable asset, what more do you want?" Emily snapped, her face flushed with anger.
Daniel, standing nearby, quickly tried to mediate. "Mr. Brown, please leave. The hospital doesn't allow loud arguments, and since Emily is Ms. Taylor's direct guardian, she has the right to ask you to go." Hayden had nothing more to say.
Emily, this ungrateful brat.
Hayden was furious. "Emily, you've been married for three years and haven't given the Smith family a child. You don't support your father, and now you're involved with this doctor! You're quite something, I can't control you!"
"Then don't even think about getting the Brown Corporation! I'm telling you now, it's just a lawsuit; I'll fight you to the end. Let's see who ends up looking bad: you for your disrespect, or me for getting what I'm rightfully owed in the divorce!" With that, Hayden kicked the hospital room door and stormed out.
At that moment, Emily painfully curled up, squatted down, and cried, tears streaming down like a river.
Daniel looked at the woman he loved so much. He knew Emily's pain and knew he couldn't fully understand it, so he just stayed by her side, feeling deeply sorry.
"Sorry. The number you have dialed is busy. Please try your call again later." This was the sixth time Emily had hung up on him. Michael was getting pretty irritated and tossed his phone aside.
He was still stuck in the hospital. His head injury wasn't serious, and he could've been discharged after a bit of rest, but Mason insisted on a full-body checkup.
The official reason? To check if Michael had any sexual dysfunction.
Sexual dysfunction? Michael almost laughed out loud.
He'd been working out for years, and even if he hadn't, he was still in great shape. Sexual dysfunction was a joke!
But he couldn't argue with Mason's authority, and with Veda keeping an eye on him, he had no choice but to comply.
"Michael, how could Grandpa think you might have sexual dysfunction? As soon as he said that, I was wide awake! You know, it's kinda weird that you and Emily haven't had kids after all these years. I wouldn't be at ease without checking!" Veda said seriously while peeling an apple by his bedside.
Michael couldn't help but feel both annoyed and amused. "Veda, are you out of your mind? Why don't you say it's Emily's problem? Bring her in for a checkup too?"
Veda looked up at his words.
"Emily?" Veda's expression soured for a moment. "No way... It's obvious she can have kids. The problem must be with you!"
Michael was speechless at her favoritism.
Veda used to hate Emily's guts.
Now she was talking about Emily like they were best friends.
Thinking of this, Michael said to Veda, "Call Emily right now."
"For what? She's at work, unlike you, always slacking..." Before Veda could finish, Michael's angry glare seemed to shoot fire.
"Alright, I'll call!" Veda stuffed the apple into her mouth, then took out her phone and dialed Emily's number.
Seeing this, Michael couldn't help but frown.
He thought the apple was for him, but now it seemed that a biological sister was no match for a wife.
"Sorry..." The busy signal came through, and Veda responded, "No answer."

At this time, Emily should be having lunch, right?
Why was she still busy?
Michael rarely called Bryan.
Bryan was surprised but quickly guessed Michael's intention. "Emily's not with me."
"Then where is she? Not at the company, not with you?" Michael couldn't help but feel a bit panicked.
Bryan sighed and said directly, "Michael, Emily is your wife. If you don't know where she is, how would I know?"
Just as he finished speaking, Bryan's housekeeper approached and said to Bryan, who was leaning on the sofa, "Mr. Watson, Miss Brown is here."
Bryan was momentarily stunned before remembering he had arranged to meet Emily at his house.
Michael was furious, "Bryan, you said you didn't know, but Emily is at your place. I heard it!"
"Michael, you need to go for your urine test." The noise of Michael and the hospital nurse arguing came through the phone.
Bryan couldn't help but laugh and said into the phone, "Michael, did you hear that? Go for your urine test."
With that, Bryan hung up and got up to greet Emily, who had just walked in.
