The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains
Chapter 49 Concealment

Michael dragged Emily out of the hospital, looking all confused and annoyed. But Emily still wanted to go back and check something with Daniel.

Emily said, "Aren't you busy? You should go to your meeting first. I'll go back and thank Mr. Wilson."

Michael grabbed her arm. "Why do you need to thank him? You don't have to do that. You're so weak, you should go home and rest. No wonder my mom says you're always getting sick. Just go home and lie down. Don't make things harder for me."

Emily, fuming, shook off his hand. "Michael, what are you talking about? How does my sickness make things harder for you? Did I ask you to come with me? If you don't want to be here, you can leave right now." Michael, just as angry, shot back, "Do you think I want to be here? Grandpa made me come."

Emily's face darkened as she shouted, "Since when do you listen to Grandpa? He told you not to see Sophia, but you didn't listen to that, did you?" After that, they both went silent, glaring at each other at the entrance.

Suddenly, Michael's phone rang. He looked at it, and Emily wasn't surprised to see Sophia's name. Emily took the chance to say, "Why don't you go replace your side piece? Go on, don't get in my way." With that, she turned and headed back into the hospital. Michael answered the call, glanced back at Emily, and then walked away in the opposite direction.

For some reason, Emily also looked back at Michael, seeing him on the phone as he walked out. Pushing down the bitterness in her heart, Emily decided to replace Daniel.

Daniel was still in Kieran's office. Kieran, looking at Daniel, suddenly got serious and said, "Daniel, tell me the truth. This child isn't yours, is it?" Kieran looked at Daniel, thinking he couldn't be that reckless.

Daniel said, "Grandpa, what are you talking about? I wouldn't do something so irresponsible."

Kieran thought for a moment and then asked, "This is good news. Why are you and Emily hiding it from Michael? Michael might be a bit overbearing, but he's a good guy. You two have been at odds since childhood, and now it's even worse. Explain yourself."

At that moment, Emily knocked and entered. She had overheard Daniel and Kieran's conversation outside.

She bowed to Kieran and said, "Thank you, Mr. Wilson. I know it's tough for you to keep my pregnancy a secret, but I really can't tell anyone."

Kieran sighed and asked her to sit down. Then he asked, "What's going on with you and Michael? Isn't pregnancy great news? Why hide it from him? I even thought the child was Daniel's."

Emily smiled and said, "You got it wrong, Mr. Wilson. Let me be straight with you. Michael doesn't love me. He's in love with Sophia. After she came back, he asked me for a divorce. So, please, you have to keep this secret. If Michael replaces out, he probably won't want this baby."

Kieran was taken aback. "What? How come his grandpa hasn't mentioned this? Just the other day, we were having tea, and he was saying Michael doesn't seem like the type to cheat. His grandpa wouldn't stand for it."

Emily smiled. "It's complicated. But please, Mr. Wilson, don't tell his grandpa. If he replaces out, he won't let us divorce. And I don't want to be with a man who doesn't love me."

Kieran nodded. "You young folks and your complicated love lives. Alright, I won't tell Mason for now. I'll prescribe some medicine to help with your digestion. If you can't eat, it'll affect both you and the baby." Emily thanked him profusely, feeling really grateful to Kieran and Daniel.

As they left Kieran's office, Emily turned to Daniel. "Thank you, Daniel. Really, thank you. If it weren't for you, Michael would have found out. Thank you."

Daniel smiled. "It's no big deal, really. By the way, the equipment I mentioned last time has arrived, but it'll take some time to ship it back. I'll apply for a subsidy for you."

Emily was thrilled. "Really? That's awesome! I don't know what to say, thank you so much." She felt a glimmer of hope for Isabella waking up and wanted to share the good news with everyone.

With tears in her eyes, Emily finally saw a bit of hope. Daniel patted her shoulder. "Emily, don't overwork yourself. You're still pregnant. If you don't take care of yourself, your body won't handle it." Emily nodded. "Okay, Daniel, I will." After saying goodbye to Daniel, she went to check on Isabella.

Outside Isabella's room, she unexpectedly saw Evelyn. Her face changed immediately, and she walked over. "What are you doing here?"

Evelyn was startled to see Emily. Emily quickly ran into the room to check on Isabella, relieved to see all the equipment working fine. She closed the door and confronted Evelyn. "What are you doing here? Are you trying to harm my mom again?"

A flash of malice crossed Evelyn's eyes. "Emily, what are you talking about? I came to see your mom out of kindness, and you treat me like this? Do you have any manners?"

Emily found it laughable. "Evelyn, are you seriously talking to me about manners? Do you think you're worthy?"

Emily glared at her. "Get out. Mom doesn't want to see you, and neither do I. Get out."
