The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains
Chapter 73 Asking for It Back

Her ears were ringing like crazy. She could see Sophia and the others chatting away in front of her, but it was like watching a silent movie-she couldn't hear a thing. Dizzy and all over the place, she noticed Daniel rushing over. "Emily, are you okay?" he asked, looking worried.

Emily felt like she was in a bubble, unable to hear anything, but her stomach was killing her, like something was slipping away. She managed to get close to Daniel's ear and whispered, "The baby." Then everything went black, and she passed out. Daniel scooped her up and shot a death glare at Sophia and the others. Sophia hadn't expected Daniel to show up.

Sophia's face went stiff. "Daniel, what are you doing here?"

Daniel looked at her with pure disgust. "Cut the crap. I'm telling you, if anything happens to Emily, none of you are getting away with it."

Sophia knew Daniel had a thing for Emily, but she hadn't expected him to show up tonight, leaving her totally thrown off. She also knew about Daniel's powerful family, something the Brown Family couldn't compete with even in ten years. Sophia clenched her fists secretly. Emily was really lucky. Every time she was in a tight spot, she managed to get saved. Last time it was Michael, now it was Daniel. Who would it be next time? Emily sure knew how to get men to fall for her. Sophia watched hatefully as Daniel carried Emily out. She thought everything would be fine once Daniel left with Emily, but then someone else pushed the door open and walked in.

It was Rhys Wilson's assistant from the Wilson Corporation. Rhys was Daniel's uncle, and Daniel was the only child in the Wilson Family of this generation. But Daniel had chosen to become a doctor instead of going into the family business, which had frustrated Rhys for a while.

Before Sophia could say anything, the assistant spoke coldly, "Miss Brown, everything you did to Mrs. Smith tonight has been recorded by Mr. Wilson, and we have all the surveillance footage from the VIP room. So, Miss Brown, you should understand what Mr. Wilson means."

Sophia turned pale at his words. She knew exactly what Daniel meant. He wanted to protect Emily, and if she dared to mess with Emily again, the Wilson Family would be the first to come after her.

But with Michael protecting her, she had never taken the Wilson Family seriously. Although the Brown Family was no match for the Wilson Family, the Smith Family in Emerald City was a force to be reckoned with. With Michael by her side, she had never been afraid.

Daniel hurriedly left the club with Emily. Sometimes things just happen by coincidence. As Daniel carried Emily out, he passed by Michael, who had just arrived at the club and hadn't even gotten out of his car yet.

Daniel sped all the way to the hospital with Emily. He thought, luckily Emily was smart enough to call him in advance, asking him to come to the VIP room at Heavenly Delight Club to save her. Otherwise, things might go out of hand. An hour earlier, Michael had already had Andrew track down Emily's whereabouts. He hadn't expected her to be at a club. He knew Emily's character well. She wouldn't go to a club for no reason.

He was freaking out, feeling like something bad had happened to Emily. He could sense her emotions from an hour ago-fear, panic, and then extreme anxiety. Now, his lower abdomen was hurting too, and he knew something was definitely wrong with Emily.

Sophia thought the drama for the night was over. But just as she turned her head, the VIP room door was slammed open again. This time, it was Michael. He stood there like some avenging angel, the hallway lights behind him making him look even more intimidating. Sophia instantly panicked but felt a bit relieved that Daniel had just taken Emily away. She put on a surprised face and ran to the door, saying, "Michael, what are you doing here?"

Michael glanced around the room, filled with people. He didn't step in but scanned the place, not seeing Emily. He then looked at Sophia and coldly asked, "Where's Emily?"

Sophia pretended to be shocked. "Michael, you come in and immediately ask about Emily. Why are you so biased? Besides, you know I don't get along with Emily. How could she be with me?"

Sophia acted all offended. But Michael had no patience for her act anymore because his lower abdomen was hurting more and more, and he felt something slipping away. He grew more anxious and asked again, "Sophia, where is Emily?" Sophia was scared by Michael's icy demeanor. Her face turned a bit pale, and she said, "I really don't know, Michael."

Sophia was still lying, but Michael had already figured it out. He knew Emily was no longer here and turned to leave.

Sophia grabbed him and asked, "Michael, do you really care about Emily that much now? Have you forgotten your promise to me? Do you know how heartbroken I've been watching you with Emily all this time? Have you forgotten everything from before?"

Sophia tried to remind him of their past. She thought he would be moved, but as he turned to look at her, she realized he felt nothing.

Michael simply said, "I haven't forgotten, but you should know your place. And..."

Michael extended his hand and said, "Give me 'Lucky'."

Sophia hadn't expected Michael to ask for "Lucky." Her face turned extremely ugly, and she said, "Michael, how could you ask for a gift back after giving it?"

Sophia knew that Michael wasn't really asking for it back; he had never intended to give it to her in the first place. She had seen the hairpin on Michael's desk when only Andrew was around. She had asked Andrew if it was for her, and Andrew, not fully understanding the situation, had nodded. So she had happily taken it.

But now, seeing Michael's expression, she knew the hairpin was meant for Emily. She clenched the hem of her dress tightly, tears welling up in her eyes. "Michael, it's just a hairpin. Can't you give it to me? It's just a piece of jewelry. What's the big deal if I take it? Doesn't our relationship mean more than a hairpin?"
