Chapter 220

His fingers tightened abruptly, causing the glass cup in his hand to shatter with a loud “pop.” Watertrickled down onto the table, startling her.

"Are you alright, Mr. Leopold?”

Leopold sucked in a breath through his teeth, tossing the shards into the trash bin with a violentgesture that caused them to become even more pulverized.

Aurelia felt a bone—chilling coldness creep over her. She took a step forward, then retracted it.Was the boss in a bad mood?

Had there been an argument with his sweetheart at the yacht party?

No wonder he had fled here before the party ended!

He was using her as an outlet for his anger, wasn't he?

She hadn't realized her role was multifunctional. Not only was she carrying his children, but alsobearing his

emotions!

“Mr. Leopold, I... I'll go take a shower.” She tried to slink away along the wall, but he was on her in aflash, cornering her against the wall.

His gaze was direct and icy, like two sharp swords that could pierce her at any moment.

“Where did you go for dinner?” he demanded.

She shrank back slightly, “A creative restaurant at the Royal Emerald Resort.”

"With whom?” His handsome face was covered in storm clouds, heralding a tempestuous mood.Aurelia swallowed hard, “Your brother.” She quickly added, “And my younger brother.”

She didn't want to lie, but given his irritable mood, she feared any misinterpretation would makeher the target of his anger, like that shattered glass.

Leopold smirked, a mocking edge to his voice, “You and your brother are getting quite cozy withArnold. Do you think you're part of the family now?”

She pulled a face at him, “Are you jealous that Arno treats Avery like a little brother?”

Leopold choked at her words, his anger dissipating against an invisible wall.

“What on earth is going in that head of yours?”

Aurelia pouted, "Don’t take your bad mood out on me. I'm pregnant.”

She was just Arno’s sounding board because they were friends. But her relationship with Leopoldwas strictly business, devoid of any emotional ties. She wasn't qualified or entitled to help him dealwith his issues.

Leopold flicked her forehead. His bad mood was her fault in the first place! No one could affect hismood as much as she did!

“From now on, you must be here whenever I am.” Leopold commanded.

“Then you should send me a WhatsApp before you come. That way, if I'm not around, you don'thave to come,” she suggested cautiously, only to be met by Leopold's icy stare that nearly froze herto the spot.

“Do need to make an appointment?” he spat out through gritted teeth, his fury palpable.

She quickly shook her head, like a bobblehead doll. When the boss was in a bad mood, it was bestto placate him, not provoke him!

“I wouldn't dare. It's me who should make an appointment to see you. You're a busy man, withparties and dates. You can't possibly come every day. When you're not here, I should schedule myown activities.” She paused, giving him a conciliatory look, “How about this? When you're notcoming, you let me know, okay?”

Leopold's eyes were shadowy and icy, as if assaulted by a chilly night, “So when I'm not around, yougo looking for other men, is that it?” He was very close, a faint, familiar fragrance emanating fromhis clothes. She recognized it-it was Evelyn's perfume.

Flashbacks of him with Evelyn flooded her mind, each intimate moment displayed like a slideshow. Each memory cut into her like a sharp knife, making her heart twitch with pain and stirring up astubborn streak in

her.

“Didn“t you also spend today with another woman, Mr. Leopold?”

Leopold's eyes narrowed slightly, his piercing gaze becoming inscrutable. “So what?"
