Arnold arrived home to replace Marcia Stirling waiting for him. Her expression was solemn.

"Arnold, be straight with me,” she started. “Is the baby that Aurelia's carrying yours?”

Arnold shot her a gloomy glance, answering in a deliberately casual tone, “She’s my woman, ofcourse the baby’s mine.”

Marcia's brows furrowed, “I've interrogated Georgina. The woman she performed the artificialinsemination on was Aurelia, so the baby belongs to Leopold!”

Arnold's lips tightened, “Why didn't you consult with me when you did this? Of all the women in thehospital, why did she pick my woman, Aurelia is mine!” He became agitated, his voice risinginvoluntarily.

Marcia stared at him in shock, her eyes filled with disbelief, “I did this all for you. Since when did youbecome so irrational? You weren't like this before.”

“Because before, I didn't have a woman I cared about,” Arnold retorted, his tone solemn. “I hopeyou'll leave Aurelia alone, or I won't just stand by.”

Marcia's forehead twitched, “You're being irrational now. We'll talk when you've calmed down.”With those words, she left.

For several days, Aurelia didn't see Leopold. He hadn't been to the company either, apparently hewas abroad discussing a business acquisition. As she left the office one evening, she bumped intoRitchie.

With a ferocious look on his face, he said, “Aurelia, I'm telling you, I'm not selling this house, and Iwon't use it as collateral either. I've changed the guarantor to my grandmother. If I can't pay backthe loan, you can use the money or the house deed to redeem her.”

Aurelia scoffed, “Do you think I have any deep feelings for her? If something happens to her, it hasnothing to do with me. On the contrary, you won't be able to spend her pension anymore.”

Ritchie spat on the ground, “Just because you're marrying into a rich family doesn't make yousuperior. It's still uncertain whether you'll be able to marry into it. If you make my life difficult, don'texpect yours to be easy!”

“If you want money, earn it yourself. You're just my cousin, what right do you have to make me payyour debts? Have some conscience!”

Aurelia left after saying that, not wanting to deal with him anymore. He was just a scoundrel!

It was merely a ten-minute walk from Astral Enterprises’ building to Rosewood Manor. Aurelia andFerne walked side by side on the sidewalk.

Behind them, a delivery man wearing a helmet rode slowly past on an electric bike, his faceobscured by a black mask.

As he passed them, whether due to a mistake or some other reason, the bike suddenly tilted and fellover.

The delivery man jumped off, stumbled a few steps, and lunged towards Aurelia. Ferne quicklypulled her away, but the force sent both of them crashing into a tree behind them.

Ferne shielded Aurelia with her body. Aurelia didn't hit the tree trunk, but the impact still caused asharp pain in her stomach. A warm liquid soaked her legs.

“Ferne, my water broke!”

“I'll call an ambulance right away,” Ferne said in anxiety, dialing ambulance.

Soon, the ambulance arrived.

Aurelia’s stomach was in so much pain, and she was terrified. Ferne sat next to her, calling Leopold.But Aurelia knew he wouldn’t make it in time. He was overseas, and by the time he returned, itwould all be over. “Call my mom.”

“Okay,” Ferne nodded.

By the time they made it to the delivery room, Aurelia’s back was soaked in cold sweat.

The tearing pain swept over her like a violent storm, nearly causing her to pass out several times.
