The CEO’S Unplanned Heir novel (Aurelia and Leopold) -
Chapter 363
Chapter 363
Leopold, hadn't agreed to reconcile with him.
But now, everything was settled. Their relationship had come to an irrevocable end.
“Arnold, our home in Goldstone is beautiful, and we are happy, but we can never return. I have togo. William and I probably won't live here anymore, and you should go back to Lisa, and take goodcare of her."
Arnold's heart shattered as if it had exploded into a million pieces.
“Aurelia!” He reached out to grab her, but she had already walked out.
“Aurelia!” He collapsed to the ground, clutching his chest in unbearable pain. He knew the onlyreason she had been living here, not moving out, was because she was waiting for him.
But he had disappointed her again, and she wouldn't give him any more chance. She was going toleave him for good.
By the time Aurelia returned to her apartment, William was already asleep. She didn't feel likesleeping yet, so she pulled out a bottle of red wine from the cabinet.
Turning on the TV, she put on a movie and sipped on her wine as she watched.
Before she knew it, she had drunk half the bottle and was slightly tipsy.
Just then, a notification pinged on her WhatsApp. It was from Leopold, [Are you asleep?]
[I'm drinking, come and join me.] After sending the message, she tossed her phone aside.
In the movie, the male lead was contemplating dying for the female lead.
She burst out laughing. So fake, so damn fake. In reality, which man would die for a woman?
Love was fragile, and there was no such thing as eternal love. Men were the most untrustworthycreatures in the world.
Fifteen minutes later, the front door was pushed open, and Leopold appeared in the doorway.
ht now, Kane was silently worrying about William, who feared Lisa having children the most. If heknew about this, he would surely be upset.
In the evening, Aurelia returned to the Rosewood Manor when she received a call from William, who was at Arnold's place.
She headed over to pick up William.
Arnold had been waiting for her, with countless explanations in his mind. But once he laid eyes onher, the words lodged in his throat.
“Aurelia...”
She knew he had something to say, so she asked Abbey to take William home first.
Once they were gone, she gave a smile and said, “Congratulations, Brother Arnold!”
Her words erected a chasm between them, shattering Arnold's heart to pieces.
"Aurelia, it's not what you think. I was set up by that damn woman, I would never touch herotherwise.”
She shrugged, “Whatever the reason, it's your personal matter, and you don’t need to explain tome."
What good would explanations do now? A searing pain, like a hot iron, scalded Arnold, and he said,“I'm sorry I let you down.”
Aurelia looked up at him, a melancholic smile gradually making its way onto her face.
“You don’t need to apologize to me because we're best friends. Friends don't need to apologize toeach other. I've decided to say goodbye to the past and start a new life. You should forget aboutour past too, and start anew.”
It was like a bolt of lightning had struck Arnold, and he fell to the ground.
He knew this was her final goodbye, and she wasn't going to give him another chance.
“Aurelia, don't give up on me.” His eyes were a burning red, tears blurring his vision.
A single tear trickled down her cheek, “The day you chose to marry Lisa, I knew we were destined tobe star—crossed lovers. Stop insisting. You will always be my dearest friend, my family. I hope youreplace the happiness that truly belongs to you.”
Arnold clutched his head. She was his source of happiness. Without her, his world would become adesolate wasteland. How could he ever be happy?
“I was wrong. I shouldn't have chosen to save her, shouldn't have chosen to marry Lisa. I waswrong.”
A sharp pain shot through Aurelia’s heart.
Perhaps, she did still hold a sliver of hope for him, which is why she hadn't accepted
