Chapter 414

Megan's face got pale, reflecting the storm brewing within her. She was beginning to suspect thatAurelia had been conspiring with these vixens behind her back, all lined up to take her down.

She forced a smile onto her face, as exaggerated as a clown’s grin, “You know, I'm actually quiteeasy to get along with. After I marry Leopold, I can assure you we'll all get along just fine. Noneed to worry.”

She schemed silently, waiting for her ascension to power, then she would deal with them, eliminatethem one by one.

Katie seemed to see right through her, laughing lightly, “If Mr. Leopold truly divorces Aurelia, itwould be fair game for all of us. Why should you be the one to take the throne?” Lana noddedemphatically, “Exactly, we all have the right to compete. We respect Aurelia because she is therightful wife, but you and us, we're on the same level. Why should we bow down to you?”Catherine chimed in, “There's no need for pretense. We know you can't tolerate us, so let's lay allthe cards on the table. No need for any underhand moves.”

Megan was fuming. These vixens were truly intolerable

“Leopold wants to marry me, he said it himself. Only I can be his beloved wife. We have beenchildhood sweethearts, first loves. Our relationship can't be replaced by anyone. You all are justflings.”

“Childhood Elowen, who had been silently observing from the sidelines, finally spoke up,sweethearts? Who do you think you are? I am the one who grew up with Leopold. I was chosen byhis uncle to be his wife. How dare you compare yourself to me?”

Elowen despised Aurelia, but she loathed Megan even more. They had been rivals since childhood.Megan scoffed, ignoring Elowen. She knew very well that Leopold didn't even like Elowen, so shenever paid her any mind.

"Elowen, you know as well as I do that Leopold never loved you. But he loves me, and you are wellaware of that."

Elowen retorted with a fiery glare, “That was six years ago. Now you're out-dated, which is why he'ssurrounded by young, beautiful mistresses.”

Megan's face twitched, “Who says I'm out-dated? I am still in my prime.”

Elowen stuck her tongue out at Megan, “But you're not as fresh as these twenty-somethingmistresses.”

Melissa, who was even older, shot Elowen a glare, “Enough, Elowen. This isn't the time forbickering. The matriarch of the Stirling family should be a noble lady, not a common

woman.”

Katie snorted, “A noble lady? You're all mistresses. Where's the nobility in that?”

“Exactly,” Lana chimed in, laughing coldly. “If you were really noble, you wouldnt be a mistress. You're no different from us.”

Catherine nodded fiercely, “Even if you do manage to replace Aurelia, I won't back down. I will fightfor the position of the legitimate wife. To settle for less is to accept defeat.”

Aurelia held her head in her hands. These mistresses were truly a sight to behold.

Leopold's harem was surely going to be a lively place in the future.

Megan was shaking with rage, wishing she had more drugs at her disposal to send these bitches tothe hospital. Unfortunately, that wasn't hers to command.

“I am not a mistress. I am the woman Leopold loves the most. The one who isn't loved is themistress, and should step aside.” As she spoke, her gaze landed on Aurelia, a clear challenge for herto step down and leave Leopold to her.
