The moment Noelle's words hung in the air, the frosty tension melted away. She watched Charles's face for a reaction, and when she saw a small smile and his features soften, she relaxed. She held out her hand. "Your phone. Hand it over!"

"In my pocket, grab it yourself!" Charles, one hand steering, took a peek at Noelle's messenger and caught Rowena's message. "Been getting close with Charles lately? When do I get to be a godmother, huh?"

Charles gave her a sharp look, and Noelle felt the air tighten again. She paused, meeting his gaze with a blink. "Something wrong?"

Charles flashed a sly grin. "Nope, I don't use Messenger. Set an account up for me, will you? And add yourself too!"

Once he finished, Charles calmly shot back a reply in Noelle's chat, "And that's not all. Our Charles here is planning on starting a whole soccer team!"

Over at Rowena and Teresa's end, things went nuts, with messages pouring in like crazy. Most of them were pretty shocking. Even Charles, who was usually a step ahead in the game, could not help but have a twitch at the corner of his mouth after reading Rowena's fiery comments. Though her words were softer, Teresa was still a far cry from the person Charles had pegged her to be.

Noelle had been heads-down, busy updating Charles's phone and downloading a few essential apps. That's when she realized that, despite its fancy features, Charles barely used his phone for anything more than calls and emails.

After breezing through the phone setup, Noelle sensed something off in the car. It took her a good thirty seconds of blank staring before it hit her-she was holding Charles's phone. However, where was hers?

Noelle's eyes snapped up to Charles's free hand, and she felt a sharp twitch at the corner of her eye, especially when she caught Charles sneaking peeks at the phone. With shaky hands, she returned Charles's phone to him and said, "Here's your phone. messenger's all set, and I've updated your other apps too. Um... my phone?"

Charles's lips quirked up in a smile,

his dark eyes sparkling with mischief yet brimming with laughter. The smile was soft, but Noelle could still

catch a whiff of something unsettling beneath it. She eyed Charles with suspicion. "Did you... peek at my phone?"

"You need an account for messenger, right? Make one for me!"

"I did, I just used your number to sign up!"

"So, did you add me?" Charles inquired.

Noelle nodded frantically. "Yep, first thing I did. That's why I need my phone back, I gotta accept it to become friends." She quickly reclaimed her phone from Charles and hurried to the friend request section, adding Charles's number in a flash.

Noelle waved her phone with a grin e given you a VIP name tag,

"See, top

one in that category!"

os Pon or list, and you're the only

Charles nodded, clearly pleased, but teased her, "Looks like you don't love me enough, huh?"

"That's ridiculous, you're the only one on this list, isn't that enough love for you?" Noelle shot back.

"However, in my messenger, you're not just on a list, you're my entire friend list!"
