Whoosh!

Noelle felt like a wave had hit her.

She would bet her bottom dollar that if she were not Charles's wife, she would replace his words way over the top. Charles gave Noelle a look like she had lost her marbles. "What's that supposed to mean? You think it's funny?"

Noelle quickly shook her head. "No way, I'm just giving you the stink eye for all the single folks out there." She could not help but crack up. "Charles, seriously, if any single person heard you, they'd be lining up to take you down!" "That's not gonna happen!" Charles replied, all serious.

"Oh, it would. You're practically begging for it with that attitude. You'd get smacked for sure."

"Nope, it won't happen." Charles insisted. Noelle quirked an eyebrow, a smirk playing on her lips as she watched him. "And why's that?"

"Because I'm a looker!" Charles declared with pride. "Plus, they couldn't take me in a fight!"

Noelle just stared at him, speechless.

"What, cat got your tongue?" Charles's fingers danced lightly on the steering wheel as he glanced at Noelle's silence. "You mad?"

Noelle bit her lip. "I don't even know what to say to you. Just drive, will you?" She said, dropping her gaze back to her phone.

However, barely two minutes passed with her head down, her fingers swiping over her phone screen, and her face beet red. She could not hold back any longer. "Charles!"

She glared at the barrage of texts on her phone screen, then shot a look at Charles, hand to her forehead. "What on earth did you say in my group chat?"

Charles just lifted his eyebrows, the picture of innocence. "Me? I didn't say a thing. That was all your two buddies chatting away!"

"No way I'm buying that story!"

Noelle stared at the flurry of texts from Rowena and Teresa, feeling utterly drained. She could not swallow the idea that Charles had not spilled the beans. If he had kept his lips sealed, Rowena and Teresa would not be freaking out like that. Sure, they were tight enough to

share all their secrets, but that kind of blow-up was rare.

Noelle scrolled back through the chat, and her face turned to thunder when she saw Charles's messages. She clenched her jaw. "Charles, you're banned from touching my phone ever again!"

"Why? You just had mine, didn't you?

It's not like it's some big secret. From now on, you can check my phone whenever you feel like it," Charles replied, casually handing over his phone to Noelle. "I'll just leave it with you when I'm not using it

Noelle fought the urge to lash out by rubbing her temples, but Charles's offer made her hold back.

Holding the phone limply, she glanced at Charles's innocent-looking face and let out a weary sigh. "This isn't about the phone. And sure, Rowena and Teresa are my besties, but some jokes are off-limits."

Charles flashed a cheeky grin and

gently stroked Noelle's cheek. "Come on, was just messing with you. I promise no more pranks, okay? Don't be mad, alright?" Seizing the moment while the traffic light was red, he playfully tilted Noelle's chin. "You know, you're not as cute when you're mad!"

Noelle chuckled. "I'm not mad!" She flashed a teasing smile, her lips curving playfully. "You know what? I'll add some friends for you-Mr. Smith and Peter, they..."

Charles pondered for a moment. "I doubt they're even on there! I hardly have time for that stuff. No need to add people I won't talk to. Just having you is plenty!"
