The doctor blanched immediately on hearing the young woman's surname, immediately signalling to the nurse to take Liam to surgery. -We'll take care of him, Miss Morgan.

-I thought so! He lowers his gun as he sees his brother-in-law being rushed away.

-That wasn't necessary," Dylan objects next to her.

-Of course it was... You don't know anything, if you don't put a little pressure on them they don't do anything.

-He would have done it without you holding a gun to his head.

Dylan denies as he looks at his clothes covered in blood, that guy had lost so much, he doubted he would survive. He catches sight of Violet's expression, and he could tell she was very worried about her brother-in-law. -Come on, let's replace a place to sit and wait.

-Yes. -She agrees and lets herself go.

Demian parks the car in front of the hospital, spotting Daniels' jeep from a distance. The mobster immediately gets out followed by his son and his friend.

-What the hell are they doing in this hospital? -Reece asked.

The three of them made their way to the place, becoming the centre of everyone's attention, as they walked down the corridor, people moved aside only when they saw Demian's presence.

Violet sat there while her legs trembled, she couldn't stop thinking about Liam's situation, if he died she wouldn't forgive herself. It was all her fault, if only she hadn't defied her father she wouldn't be going through this. Liam would be at home with his sister and she would be well... who knows?

He looks sideways at Dylan, he seemed so serene, it was as if he didn't care about what was happening... but on the other hand, if it wasn't for him Liam would be dead. He was such an imposing and virile man as he stood there with his arms folded. His clothes were stained with blood, as were hers. She understood why they were the centre of everyone's attention.

Violet felt the urge to say something to the man beside her, at least thank him for what he had done, and then she sensed her father's presence in the distance.

-I think we have a visitor," Dylan says to her, deadly serious.

-My father, this isn't good," she replies somewhat annoyed.

Demian approaches the couple like a lion on the hunt, standing in front of them, imposing his presence and trying to intimidate the young men.

-Father, how did you know I was here?

-What the hell are you doing here? -The young woman stands up. What's all that blood?

-It's Liam! He's hurt... he was admitted not long ago.

-What happened? -Daniels asks.

-We were ambushed, these guys came out from everywhere and we couldn't do much. There were only three of us.

-I didn't tell you to stay away from my daughter, what the hell do you think you're doing here?

Dylan stands up facing Demian, despite the age difference the young Dallas was the same height and build as Morgan. You could say they were very similar physically, even the look in both of their eyes was cold and not soft at all.

-I'm not here because I want to be, I've had no choice.

-You don't say? -Demian answers deadly serious.

-Dad, please not here. If it wasn't for Dylan, Liam would be dead by now." The young woman steps between the two men.

-I want you to stay away from my daughter and my family, just for this one day you'll stay alive.

-Dad!

-Get out," he orders.

Dylan doesn't like being given orders, in fact he hated them, but since his help was over it was best to get out of this place. After all, these people were not his family, and he also needed to resolve some very important matters. So, Dylan walked past Demian and company and headed for the exit without saying goodbye to anyone.

-For God's sake, can you stop scaring people away.

-He's not to be trusted, Violet, stop acting like a child and listen to me for once in your life.

-If Dylan wanted to kill me, he would have done it a long time ago. Especially when he's handcuffing me to a bloody half-naked bed," she replies, completely furious.

She walks past her father, pushing her uncle and brother aside... but Reece grabs her elbow, preventing her from leaving, but the young woman applies a key to her brother's wrist and with that she manages to free herself from his grip. The young woman ran towards the exit in search of Dylan. She still hadn't thanked him for what he had done, and on top of that her father was threatening to kill him.

-Do you want me to go get her? -Reece asks his father while looking in the direction his sister went.

-Give her a few minutes.

-She's so stubborn, so much like you," the blond replies as he sits down in the waiting chairs, "I think you should let her do things her way.

-Maybe!

[...]

He goes outside the hospital desperately looking around for Dylan, and when he replaces him he spots him almost getting into a taxi, so he runs towards him to try to catch him. -Dylan, please wait....

-Violet, what are you doing here? -she asks with obvious annoyance as she holds the door of the taxi.

-I just didn't want you to leave without first thanking you for what you did today.

-It wasn't necessary for you to go to the trouble of coming here.

-But I wanted to.

-Go back to your father, Violet," he says, making an attempt to put him in the taxi, but she stops him.

-Dylan," she calls to him in a low voice.

Then the young man looks at that vulnerable, sweet, yet fierce expression that only made him want to grab her and take her away. But the only thing he could do was one thing... he returned to Violet's side and in a quick movement he took her by the waist, pressed her body against his and then joined his lips with hers in a very passionate and possessive way.

Violet received Dylan's kiss gladly, she loved it when he kissed her like that, it melted her inside. The girl wrapped her arm around Dylan's neck, strengthening their union even more. At the end when they separated Dylan ended that contact with a nibble on her lips. He looked at Violet's eyes which had crystallized, she really was so beautiful.

-I'm leaving!

-Dylan, I want to...

-We can't see each other again, for both our sakes.

-But...

-I'm so sorry, Violet.

He slowly pulls her away, earning a very unfriendly look from her, even though he was dying to put them in that taxi and take her home, he knew he couldn't do it. And not because he was afraid of Demian, his reasons were different. -Is it because of that woman?

-Yes. It's because of her! -He's lying.

He let her go and then got into the car without saying another word... the taxi drove on leaving Violeta behind, who felt dejected and with a strange feeling of bitterness in her heart. With distress she watched as the taxi drove away from her. -Why? Why the hell do I feel like this? -She sighed, repressing that certain urge to cry, a very new feeling for her.
