The director impatiently told Wendy to check on her phone.

The only reason they would choose Wendy was because they thought she still had some popularity. However, the incident with Melody turned out to be a complete misunderstanding! This immediately made Wendy, who took the opportunity to step on her sister, seem unreliable.

At that moment, large numbers of comments flooded Wendy's post, even surpassing the previous criticisms of Melody. The social media users were all questioning the authenticity of what Wendy said. [I've been saying this person isn't trustworthy. She says she doesn't want to ride on popularity, but didn't she publish that post when the news about Melody was at its peak? Isn't that just to gain popularity? Otherwise, who'd know this third-rate minor celebrity?]

Other social media users agreed one after another.

[Yeah. Calling her a third-rate minor celebrity is already giving her too much credit. She's practically a nobody! You only have to check how many endorsement deals she's recently taken to see who's really profiting from Melody's situation. I refuse to believe someone who feeds off their sister's blood would speak the truth.]

Wendy trembled with anger as she continued to read the comments. 'How did Melody's reputation turn around again? Wasn't she being universally criticized online? Why are all these people now coming to insult me?'

She was puzzled, so she clicked on the hot topics and found Melody's name followed by a big studio name and a court verdict.

"How did this despicable woman get her own studio? Who's helping her out here?"

After Helen returned, Wendy learned that Melody had hooked up with a man of great status. However, she had not heard about who Melody's financial backer was. Nonetheless, it seemed that the man was indeed powerful.

He easily resolved such a big issue in no time, even setting up a studio just to let Melody act in peace. Those who did not know any better might really think he was madly in love with Melody.

'Huh! I'm not going to let you snatch away my opportunity again. I'll take back everything that belongs to me!' thought Wendy.

She then forced a smile, rattled off a bunch of good words, and assured the director that she was not the kind of person who would kick someone when they were down.

The director reluctantly nodded. He

had to hurry back and discuss this matter with the advertisers. After all, it would ruin the product's reputation if the celebrity they had chosen to endorse their products was universally condemned by the time the commercial aired. Everyone was out for their own interests.

Wendy felt she had to talk to Melody at least once/As the central figure of the incident, Wendy had to come out and respond. There was no way around it. These social media users seemed to spend all their time focusing on her, forcing her to

clarify. If she did not, it

would seem

like she had something to hide.

However, Melody had a strong support system. How could Wendy possibly contend with that? After much thought, Wendy made up her mind to replace Melody nonetheless.

After Melody regained her

composure, she returned to the film

set. There were only a few scenes left for her character. She cherished

her first movie a lot and love?

forward to seeing how her

performance would turn out on the big screen.

Thus, when someone informed her that her sister had come to see her, she was a bit surprised.

"Who did you say it was?" she asked.

The staff repeated Wendy's name. Not just Melody, but everyone on the set became tense. After all, Melody was injured in the head by her own mother the last time a family member came looking for her.
