The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric) -
Chapter 1897 Support Your Divorce
After all, if Yvette had a fallout with Lance, why would she still be in the mood to care about the company's stock?
Yvette silently looked at the door and retracted her smile.
After some thought, she called her mother to tell her about this matter.
Mrs. Quimbey hesitated for a full minute before she asked, "Do you really want to go?"
Yvette responded. "I'll never be able to stand on my own if I don't go. I can't live under your wing and the Sheldon family's wing for the rest of my life, right?" Mrs. Quimbey sighed. Yvette probably gave this some thought.
"You can go, but you must pay attention to the dangers there. Although I want you to grow up, I don't want anything to happen to you. Got it?" Yvette's eyes were sore as she answered.
"I know, Mom. But Lance won't let me go. Can you tell Aunt Fiona about this? If she agrees to it, then it'll be much easier to convince Lance."
Mrs. Quimbey paused. "Okay, I'll tell her."
After a few seconds, Mrs. Quimbey continued, "I heard that something happened between you two. Did Lance's exgirlfriend replace trouble with you? You didn't suffer a loss, right?"
Yvette burst out laughing.
"Of course, not! Everyone else might be concerned about whether my marriage
with Lance will continue. Why are you asking this all of a sudden?"
Mrs. Quimbey sneered. "I can't just st>f-: RIT> by and watch you get bullied.
Although it was a marriage alliance, I carefully selected him for you. Lance is a good person, so I agreed for you to marry him. But if he bullies you, I won't just sit idly by. If you really can't stand him, just get a divorce. I'll support you."
Yvette was smiling at first, but soon, her tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.
Through the phone, Yvette cried silently. She could not imagine the look on her mother's face when she said those words
Mrs. Quimbey had always complained about Yvette not being ambitious enough. Yvette was helpless because she was a substandard daughter.
She was always acting recklessly and getting into trouble, while her mother had to clean up her mess and manage the company alone.
Yvette thought that marrying Lance was the first time her mother was so satisfied with her.
Thus, Yvette's first reaction when she encountered issues was to endure it before she thought about fighting for what was best for her. In the end, Yvette still decided to endure it.
She had given up her whole life for her marriage, so she could only blame it on her bad luck.
That was because she felt that her mother would not agree to a divorce.
Now that Yvette heard her mother's words, she suddenly felt that she had a reason to vent out all the grievances she suffered.
In an instant, she was free from those imaginary shackles and had no more worries.
After all, she was the arrogant, flamboyant, and fearless princess of the Quimbey family.
Both parties on the phone were quiet.
Mrs. Quimbey did not speak and only sighed.
"Marriage and love are separate entities. You're still too young and impulsive.
Feelings are just embellishments. The money that you squander on a regular basis didn't come from the love between me and your late father. You have to grow stronger so that you won't be bullied." Mrs. Quimbey often said these words, but this was the only time that Yvette truly listened.
Yvette kept silent. She dried her tears and spoke.
"I understand, Mom."
Mrs. Quimbey acknowledged her and wanted to say something else when someone knocked on the door. It seemed like she had a guest. She was always busy anyway.
Yvette did not talk too much. She just smiled and hung up the phone.
The situation between Lance and Whitney taught Yvette a lesson.
Yvette knew that Whitney had a motive in showing up.
Ultimately, she felt that her position as Mrs. Sheldon could be replaced.
