Chapter 1898 I Don't Blame You

Lance did not stand up for Yvette when he was talking to Whitney at the stairway that day. Yvette ultimately felt that it was not worth it.

She thought, 'What's the point of feeling sorry for myself? What's the use of caring about other people's opinions? I've loved frankly, and even if it doesn't end well, at least it was still a blast!' In the first half of her life, Yvette had taken her relationships too seriously.

First Sean, then Lance.

Lance did not do anything wrong. He was actually quite innocent.

The honeymoon stage of their marriage was a great memory, but she could not be immersed in bliss forever.

Yvette was just incompetent. She would always be known as Mrs. Sheldon, and other people only addressed her as "Vice President" out of respect for Lance.

Yvette took a deep breath and began to prepare the materials for the Cali business trip.

Yvette had intended to go to the staff canteen for lunch.

However, the assistant knocked on the door. "Mr. Sheldon has ordered dishes from the private kitchen and invited you over for lunch."

Yvette paused and nodded her head.

"Sure."

Since Lance took the initiative to reach out, she wanted to talk about it.

They could not constantly throw tantrums to each other in their relationship.

It was not like they could stay in love for life.

Yvette felt that after she removed those love goggles, her IQ suddenly increased.

She knocked on Lance's office door and went in.

Lance sat on the sofa as he opened the insulated food boxes one by one. He looked at Yvette and hesitated to speak. In the end, he asked, "Did you wash your hands?" Yvette raised her eyebrows, turned around, and went to the bathroom inside his office.

"My office isn't as convenient as yours.

Your bathroom is just around the corner."

Lance let out a light laugh.

"If you like it here, we can swap offices."

Yvette came out after washing her hands and saw that he was being serious. That was not a joke.

She was a little taken aback.

'You're the president, and I'm your vice

president. How can my office be nicer than yours?"

Lance gave her a look and handed her the cutlery.

"Hurry up and eat."

Yvette was a bit hungry. When she saw the colorful and fragrant dishes, she did not hesitate to sit down and eat.

Lance did not do anything. He just watched her eat.

Yvette usually liked to talk and laugh. However, Lance got to know another side of her these two days.

Her smile was somewhat detached. At times, she would also draw a clear line between them and would look at him with an indifferent gaze.

In just a day or two, Lance felt like he was riding an emotional roller coaster with many ups and downs. He was so exhausted.

Yvette ate for a while, only to replace that Lance did not touch the food.

"Why aren't you eating?"

Lance smiled and looked at her.

"Go ahead, I'm not hungry."

Yvette swallowed her food and drank a sip of water before she put down her cutlery and looked at him.

"Do you have something to say to me?"

Lance clearly looked like he had something to say.

He looked at her with sunken eyes that were devoid of emotions. At that moment, it was impossible to see through his thoughts.

"I've already found a suitable candidate to go to Cali."

Yvette's face stiffened.

Lance propped his arm on his lap and looked at her steadily.

"I still have another municipal construction project. You can take it as practice."

Yvette lowered her eyes and was not happy about this news.

She gently curled her lips, as if she did not care.

"Municipal construction is a huge piece of the pie. It's like giving away money for nothing. Now, you're giving it to me as practice?" Yvette's unique voice was a little lazy, careless, and disdainful.
