Eric did not even want to delay this for another second.

Ingrid's womb was like a ticking time bomb.

If Tyler was arrested and Ingrid gave birth to Tyler's child, the Ferguson family would become an utter joke.

Eric was not selfless enough to raise another man's child.

"Yes, sir."

Mitchell responded and immediately got up.

He called the bodyguard who was watching Ingrid.

"Is Ms. Ferguson at home?"

"Yes, she hasn't stepped out of the house."

Mitchell breathed a sigh of relief.

"Okay."

Mitchell went straight to the hospital and waited there.

Ingrid went to the hospital obediently and did not cry or make a fuss along the way, as if she had thought it through.

After she was pushed into the operating room, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

The surgery would take about half an hour, so Mitchell asked the bodyguards to take a rest and waited there by himself.

When it was almost time, Mitchell asked Eric to come over.

However, Mitchell did not expect to hear a commotion coming from the operating room within ten minutes of Ingrid's arrival.

Mitchell quickly stood up.

The doctor inside ran out with a pale and terrified face.

"Ms. Ferguson, she..."

Before the doctor could finish his sentence, Ingrid stood there with her bulging belly and a scalpel in hand. She looked at them with red eyes.

Mitchell frowned slightly. "Ms. Ferguson..."

Ingrid sobbed and took a deep breath.

"I won't kill my child. Tyler will never return to me once I lose this child!"

She gritted her teeth.

The scalpel was sharp, so no one dared to approach her.

The doctor was so frightened that his face turned pale.

Mitchell stood there and pondered.

"Ms. Ferguson, calm down. I'll tell Mr. Ferguson right away and ask him to come over and talk to you."

Ingrid sneered. "I don't care. He only thinks of himself!"

She held the scalpel and ran outside. She was afraid that someone would be guarding the elevator, so she ran to the stairwell and quickly escaped.

However, after she got down to the first floor, she suddenly twisted her ankle. Her legs became weak. She fell to the ground

Her lower body was bleeding.

In the next second, a miserable cry resounded throughout the hospital

building.

Mitchell informed Eric of the incident, so Eric rushed to the hospital.

After emergency surgery, Ingrid came out of the emergency room. Her face was pale, and she was unconscious. The doctor stood there in trepidation.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Ferguson. We're really sorry for what happened in our hospital."

Ingrid was Eric's sister, so they would not be able to afford the consequences if Eric wanted to hold them accountable. Eric stood there, looking like a tall sculpture. His eyes narrowed slightly, and he looked in the direction of the ward.

Ingrid's slightly raised belly was finally flat.

His heart instantly settled down.

"It's okay. I have to thank you all."

Eric said in an indifferent and nonchalant tone.

The doctor was stunned and stood there, puzzled.

Mitchell came over after filling up some forms. He glanced at the doctor and smiled faintly.

"Mr. Ferguson, everything has been arranged. Ms. Ferguson needs to rest. She'll be taken care of if we send her to Mrs.

Ferguson."

Eric raised his eyebrows and responded.

He looked very satisfied.

The doctor hesitated and was afraid that Eric did not understand the gravity of the situation.

"Mr. Ferguson, Ms. Ferguson's miscarriage is quite serious this time, so she will have difficulty conceiving in the future. She may not be able to bear any more children..." Eric's eyes were indifferent as he looked over.

"Alright."

After Eric said that, he turned around and left.

Mitchell patted the doctor on the shoulder.' Don't let Ms. Ferguson know about this matter. Otherwise, it'll affect her recovery.'

"Okay."

Mitchell looked at the woman in the ward and breathed a sigh of relief.

On the way back, Eric sat in the back and read his email.

Mitchell suddenly received a call.

What the other party said made his expression change slightly.

After a pause, Mitchell thanked the person and hung up the phone.

"Mr. Ferguson, there's news from the hospital. The results of the paternity test for you and that child are out, and he's indeed your biological son."

In an instant, the air in the car dropped to freezing point.

Eric raised his head and looked at him with cold eyes.

"It won't be wrong?"

"No."

Mitchell took a deep breath and felt a deadly pressure in the air.

It was suffocating.

Eric pursed his lips, narrowed his eyes, and reached out to rub his temples.

He was trying his best to suppress his frustration.

"Where is he?"

Mitchell paused. "Who?"

"That child."

"In our company's dormitory. I asked my colleague in the secretarial department to help take care of him."

Mitchell said in a low voice.

Before the result came out, he could not privately make arrangements for the child.

Eric also had no intention of intervening.

It would be easy to replace a last-minute nanny, but if word got out, it would have a negative impact on Eric.

Mitchell knew the severity of the situation, so he did not dare to make his own decisions.

Eric did not speak, and his face was sullen.

He thought about his promise to Angie again. She raised her child until the boy was three years old and wanted to stuff the boy to him.

Eric was repulsed.

"Mr. Ferguson, it's okay. Why don't you bring him back and get a nanny to watch him?"

Mitchell asked tentatively, "Or, we can bring him to Mrs. Ferguson?"

Eric looked out the window with dark eyes.

His face was gloomy, and his voice was cold as he said, "No need. Just send him to boarding school."

Eric did not want to see that child for another minute.

The appearance of that child would only remind Eric of his humiliating past.

Mitchell hesitated, but when he saw Eric's expression, he only nodded his head.

The boy was so young, so how could he stay in boarding school?

Eric obviously did not like the child, so perhaps he would not even get the child a doctor.

How pitiful...

"Okay. Ill get in touch with a good school."

Mitchell took a deep breath.

They got back to the office.

The colleague that was watching the child had to go to work, so he naturally brought the child with him.

He brought the boy to an empty conference room and let him play on his own.

The little boy was a little overwhelmed by everyone's enthusiasm.

He was fair and tender like a porcelain doll, and he looked so similar to Eric. Needless to say, everyone knew that this boy must have something to do with Eric.

Thus, no one dared to neglect the boy.

Toys and snacks filled the table.

The child just sat there obediently with large, twinkling, eyes as he looked at the gifts in front of him.

He was flattered, nervous, and careful. His apprehensive look was not at all like Eric's domineering and stern look. Apart from his facial features, the boy's personality did not resemble Eric at all Perhaps no one would believe it.

The boy thought, 'No one has liked me so much. Even Mommy didn't like me very much... Mommy said that Daddy liked me a lot, so she asked me to come to Daddy. Daddy's colleagues are also very nice.'

He sat there, feeling a little embarrassed. The colleagues outside took turns to come in and feed him.

Perhaps because of the boy's growth environment, he would not touch the toys and snacks on the table when others were not around.

He just sat there sensibly, which made the adults feel heartbroken.

A female colleague coaxed him for a while and got him to drink some milk and eat some snacks. She sighed.

"This kid is so pitiful. His gaze is so cautious, like he grew up observing people's expressions since he was born. It makes my heart ache!"
