THE DEVIL HERSELF -
Chapter 29
# In the Snake Room
Natalia sat on the cold floor of the Snake Room, her body wracked with pain from the recent torture. Despite the agony, a twisted smile played at the corners of her lips. Her plan was unfolding perfectly. Marcus knew they were coming, and Scarlet wouldn't survive the ambush. Once Scarlet was out of the picture, Dracula would be hers. It was the perfect plan for revenge.
#Marcus's Den
Marcus leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the armrest. His men, a formidable group of seasoned fighters, sat around him, their eyes scanning the darkened interior of the cabin. They were ready, waiting for Scarlet and her team to walk into the trap.
"Remember," Marcus said, his voice calm and cold, "they think they're coming here for information. We'll make sure they leave in body bags."
The men nodded, their expressions grimly determined. They had the element of surprise on their side, and they were well-armed. #00000
Scarlet and her team moved swiftly through the dense forest, the moonlight filtering through the canopy above. The air was thick with tension, each of them acutely aware of the danger ahead. Elias had insisted on joining them, determined to protect his sister.
"You sure about this, Elias?" Scarlet asked, her voice low.
Elias nodded. "I won't let anything happen to you."
Diego brought out a car and they all entered as he drove off. Chance was in the computer room monitoring them but as soon as they entered the forest he lost connection with them immediately. "Damnit" He screamed angrily, dropping the mouse harshly.
As soon as Diego packed the car far away from been seen by them. Dracula led the way, his senses alert for any signs of trouble. Diego and Rachel flanked Scarlet and Elias, their weapons read.
As they approached the cabin, the stillness of the forest was shattered by a sudden burst of gunfire. Scarlet and her team dove for cover, returning fire as they tried to assess the situation. The cabin's windows shattered, and bullets whizzed through the air.
"How did they know?" Scarlet shouted over the chaos, her eyes narrowing with suspicion.
Diego ducked behind a tree, firing at the attackers. "We've been set up!"
Dracula's eyes blazed with anger. "It's a trap. We need to move!"
Scarlet's mind raced. Natalia. She must have been the one to tip them off. Scarlet's grip tightened on her gun, her resolve hardening.
The fight was fierce and chaotic. Scarlet moved with deadly precision, her shots replaceing their marks with lethal accuracy. Each pull of the trigger was accompanied by the sharp crack of gunfire, the air thick with the smell of gunpowder. Men fell around her, their bodies crumpling to the ground as bullets found flesh.
Diego and Rachel fought with equal ferocity, their movements fluid and practiced. Diego's powerful punches and kicks sent opponents sprawling, while Rachel's blade flashed in the moonlight, cutting down anyone who came too close. Dracula, a towering figure of menace, waded through the fray with a deadly calm. His fists were like hammers, and each strike left an enemy broken and bleeding. He moved with the grace of a predator, his eyes scanning for any threat to his comrades.
Elias stayed close to Scarlet, his gun blazing as he protected his sister. His determination was palpable, his focus unwavering.
Suddenly, a mocking voice cut through the din of battle. "Well, well, well. Look who's fallen into my little trap."
Scarlet's eyes snapped to Marcus, who stood at the entrance of the cabin, a smug smile on his face. "You really thought you could waltz in here and get what you wanted? You're all fools." Scarlet's anger flared. "Marcus. This ends now."
Marcus laughed, the sound grating on Scarlet's nerves. "Oh, does it? You think you can stop me, Ariana Keys?"
Scarlet's eyes blazed with fury. "Don't you dare call me that."
As she moved to confront Marcus, Elias noticed a red dot dancing on her back, the unmistakable sign of a sniper's laser sight. His eyes widened in horror. "Scarlet, get down!"
Before she could react, Elias lunged forward, pushing her out of the way. The sniper's bullet tore through the air, hitting Elias in the chest. He fell to the ground, blood pouring from the wound. "No!" Scarlet screamed, her voice filled with anguish.

Marcus's smile faltered as he saw the fury in Scarlet's eyes. She raised her gun and fired, her shots tearing into his body. She kept firing until her gun clicked empty, each shot fueled by her rage and grief.
Diego and Dracula rushed to Elias's side, their faces grim. "We need to get him to a hospital, now!" Diego shouted.
Rachel, having retrieved the necessary information from the cabin, set it ablaze, the flames quickly consuming the wooden structure.

They raced to the hospital, Elias's life hanging by a thread. The doctors worked frantically to stabilize him, their faces etched with concentration and concern. Scarlet paced the waiting room, her mind a whirlwind of fear and anger. A doctor emerged, his expression serious. "He's in a coma. The bullet did a lot of damage, and we can't say when, or if, he'll wake up. We did everything we could."
Scarlet's heart sank. She felt a heavy weight settle in her chest, the realization of how close she had come to losing her brother after seeing him again. She can't just lose him again like before. She stood up and stared at him through the window, the pipes connected to his body just made her blood boil. She stormed off angrily..... (DEAD BODIES WILL FLOW SOON)

Back at the compound, the atmosphere was tense. Natalia was still locked in the Snake Room, unaware of the failed ambush. Scarlet, her emotions raw, stormed into the room, her eyes blazing with fury. "Did you think we wouldn't figure it out?" Scarlet spat, her voice trembling with rage. "You betrayed us. You betrayed Elias."
Natalia's eyes widened with surprise and a hint of fear. "What happened?"
"Your little plan failed," Scarlet snarled. "Elias took a bullet meant for me. He's in a coma because of you."
For the first time, Natalia's confident facade cracked seeing the blazing anger in her eyes. "I didn't mean for him to get hurt," she said, her voice shaking.
Scarlet's fury was unrelenting. "You put us all at risk for your selfish revenge. You'll pay for this."

That was when she finally fired up," Yes, I planned it all for you to die and leave Dracula alone. Can't you see he loves you instead of loving me? Why can't you just leave him alone and focus on your lonely life of revenge? What you take him away from me? Huh?" She asked angrily, taking Scarlet by surprise.
"So you did this because of a man? Endangering everyone all because of a man?" She thundered dangerously, glaring at her like she would rip her head off any moment. Natalia immediately rejected her actions. She just doesn't knows what came over her but now she remembers that DVV isn't someone to be messed with.
Diego and Dracula entered the room, their faces grim. "What do you want to do with her, Boss?" Diego asked. Scarlet's eyes were cold as ice. "She stays in here until we decide her fate. No more chances."
Dracula stepped forward, his presence intimidating. "You made a grave mistake, Natalia. And you will answer for it."
As they left the room, Natalia slumped against the wall, realizing the full extent of her actions. The weight of her betrayal and the consequences it brought down on those she once considered comrades pressed heavily on her. # SCARLETS OFFICE 000
Back in the compound's control room, Scarlet, Dracula, Chance, and Rachel gathered to plan their next move. They had the information they needed, but the cost had been high.
"We have to strick before the hunters will come for us. They have enough information to take us down when ever they want. According to what we have here, she has been releasing informations for a month now, even during her stay in the Snake Room." Scarlet said, her voice steely. "No more surprises. We have to secure the clan."
Chance nodded. "I'll go through the data we recovered. There has to be something we can use."
Rachel's eyes were determined. "We'll set a trap for them or we will go there our selves, Boss. And we'll make them pay."
Diego placed a hand on Scarlet's shoulder. "Elias will pull through. He's strong."
Scarlet nodded, drawing strength from their solidarity. "We'll fight this. Together."
Later in the night, Scarlet found herself alone in the quiet of her office. The events of the past few days replayed in her mind, each moment sharpening her resolve. She would protect her clan, no matter the cost. And she would ensure that those who betrayed them paid dearly for their actions.
As soon as she walked into her room to sleep, she remembered the people in the detention room, she picked up her phone and placed a call to Rachel.
"Release Scar and the guys. Tell Scar to get ready for her surgery on her eyes which is taking place on Saturday morning. I won't remind her" she hung up and laid down but still couldn't sleep, as past and hurtful memories hunted her.
