THE DEVIL HERSELF
Chapter 50

COURTYARD

The courtyard was a cacophony of violence and chaos. Diego was in his element, a whirlwind of brutal efficiency. A man lunged at him with a wild scream, but Diego met him with a heavy punch that sent the man sprawling on the ground. Undeterred, the man scrambled to his feet and charged again. This time, he landed a punch on Diego, but Diego swiftly countered, grabbing the man's wrist and twisting it until the bones snapped. Diego followed up with a bone-crunching slap that sent two of the man's teeth flying. Seizing the moment as his opponent writhed in pain, Diego brought two small, razor-sharp knives and drove them into the man's eyes, eliciting a blood- curdling scream.

"Shit... Motherfucker!" the man cried out, but his agony was cut short as Diego drove a knife deep into his brain. The man went limp instantly.

"I need more blood tonight," Diego grinned maniacally, eyes gleaming with bloodlust.

Nearby, Dracula was in the midst of a fierce struggle with a female opponent. He was about to deliver a fatal stab when a gunshot rang out, dropping the woman instantly. Dracula looked up to see Lucky standing there, looking like a vision of death. She wore a black top, black tight trousers, and black boots. Her black lipstick and eye shadow gave her a devilish appearance. The triplets-Lucky, Lotus, and Lucas-were a trio of deadly precision, their appearance alone enough to instill fear.

Before Dracula could react, Lotus joined the fray, her movements fluid and lethal. She took down two attackers with a flurry of kicks and punches, her black boots stomping down with brutal finality. Lucas, with his distinctive mohawk and piercings, moved like a shadow, his daggers flashing in the dim light as he sliced through his enemies with terrifying efficiency.

But amidst the carnage, one of the fallen attackers stirred. Bleeding heavily, he picked up a discarded gun with his remaining strength. "If I die, someone has to come with me," he muttered, aiming shakily at Diego's back. Diego was conversing with Dracula, discussing how to clear the bodies, when the gunshots rang out. Not once, not twice, but repeatedly until the gun's magazine was empty. The final bullet pierced Diego's heart and exited through his chest, striking Dracula in the arm.

Diego's body jerked as he spat out blood, his eyes widening in shock. Lucky was quick to retaliate, killing the shooter instantly, but it was too late. Diego collapsed to the ground, lifeless. Dracula, clutching his bleeding arm, fell beside him, their faces inches apart, blood mixing with the dirt.

"Diegoooooooo!" Dracula screamed, his voice raw with anguish. The sight of his brother's lifeless body crushed him, and he felt his own strength ebbing away as he lay next to Diego, half-dead.

I Scarlet's face was a mask of rage. Ace was chained to a chair, his body already bearing the marks of her wrath. Scarlet picked up a scalpel, her hand steady, and began to cut off his fingers one by one. "Noooo......... Plea.....see......." Ace screamed, the sound echoing off the walls.

She moved on to his toenails, ripping them out with brutal efficiency. Blood pooled around his feet, and his screams grew hoarse. Next, she sliced through his ankles, the knife biting deep into the bone before she severed both his legs completely. Ace's body convulsed in pain, his breath coming in ragged gasps.

"Please........ I begg...... You...... Just kill me" he cried madly due to the pains he was receiving.

"Death is very far away from you bastard" she spat venomously. Her eyes were cold as she hacked off one of his hands, followed by both his ears. Blood streamed down Ace's face as she dug out his eyes, leaving him blind and broken. She stood over him, her expression a twisted mixture of satisfaction and fury.

"You and Stone thought you could destroy me, but I survived. I've killed every last one of you who had a hand in my family's murder. And now, you're the last man standing," she hissed, raising her knife for the final blow.

But before she could deliver the killing strike, Tyler burst into the room, breathless and frantic. "Scarlet, Diego has been shot badly and Dracula passed out because of it. I don't think he can survive," he blurted out, forgetting to call her "Boss." Scarlet's knife slipped from her hand, clattering to the floor. Her heart pounded in her chest. "No... Diego can't be..."

Her mind refused to accept it. Diego, the one who had been her rock, her solace. She staggered back, her vision blurring. She ran out of the room, ignoring the blood that covered her. Diego came first.

Scarlet sprinted to the main gate, her heart in her throat. She saw the ambulance and ran towards it, her bloodstained clothes a stark contrast to the sterile white of the vehicle. Inside, Diego lay lifelessly on a stretcher, his blood dripping onto the floor.

"Diego!" Scarlet screamed, her voice breaking. She pushed through the medics, falling to her knees beside him. His face was pale, his chest barely rising. The sight tore at her heart, a pain unlike any she had ever felt.

Tears streamed down her face as she clutched his hand. "Diego, please... don't leave me. I need you," she whispered, her voice trembling. The medics tried to pull her away, but she clung to him desperately. Dracula, his own injuries severe, was brought in beside Diego. The brothers lay side by side, their blood mixing on the ground. Dracula's eyes fluttered open, and he reached out weakly to touch Diego's hand. "Scarlet... take care of him... please," Dracula whispered, his voice barely audible.

Scarlet's heart shattered. She couldn't lose them both. Not now, not like this. She turned to the medics, her eyes blazing with determination. "Do everything you can to save them. If you let them die, I'll make sure you wish you were dead." The medics nodded, fear and urgency spurring them into action. Scarlet watched, her heart breaking with every passing second. The fight was far from over, and now, it was more personal than ever. ### Continued Battle

Back in the torture room, Scarlet's mind was a whirlwind of emotions. She had to finish what she started. Ace, now blind and broken, taunted her with a twisted smile.

"You think killing me will bring them back? You've lost everything, Scarlet. Your family, your heart. You're just like me," Ace mocked, his voice dripping with malice. Scarlet's eyes blazed with fury. "I'm nothing like you. I have something you'll never understand loyalty, love, and the will to protect those I care about."

She picked up a scalpel, her hand steady. "This is for my family. For every innocent life you destroyed."

With surgical precision, she cut into his flesh, each slice a testament to her rage. Ace's screams echoed through the room, but Scarlet's expression remained cold. She would make him suffer, just as he had made countless others suffer. He can't died like that not after everything.

Outside, the battle reached its peak. The clan members fought with every ounce of strength they had left. Chance and Zenith, their coordination seamless, took down enemy after enemy. Rachel's katana was a blur, slicing through opponents with deadly accuracy.

Diego and Dracula, despite their injuries, were brought back into the fold. Their presence, even in their weakened state, bolstered the clan's morale. They fought with a ferocity born of desperation and love for their family.

Lucky, Lotus, and Lyric, the deadly triplets, moved through the battlefield with ruthless efficiency. Their synchronized attacks left a trail of bodies in their wake. They fought not just for themselves, but for their fallen comrades, for Scarlet, and for the future of their clan.

As dawn broke, the battle finally began to wane. The courtyard was littered with the bodies of the fallen, both friend and foe. The remaining intruders were rounded up and captured, their defeat evident.

Scarlet emerged from the torture room, her hands and clothes stained with blood. She looked at her clan, her heart heavy with the loss.
