Bella met the man's deep gaze once more. This time, her expression became open, determined, and fearless. "If Justin wakes up, we'll fight side by side. If he doesn't, I'll fight in his place. I will protect everything that belongs to him. No one will touch or interfere with it. No one."

This was the true message Bella wanted to convey during her private conversation with Grant.

Grant, momentarily taken aback, smiled with a touch of laziness and playfulness.

"You're right, Ms. Thompson. What belongs to Justin is his. No one else can take it from him."

Yet Bella caught the underlying meaning in his words, her gaze darkening slightly.

"So, you want me to use this report to identify the drug Justin took, right?" Grant agreed readily. "Alright, I'll help you."

"Thank you, Mr. Grant." Bella got out of the car swiftly, without lingering any longer.

She stared at the dark windows of the luxury car, watching it leave the parking lot.

Her mind kept circling a few key terms: Meridan, RC, drugs, Christopher, and the Boss.

Essentially, Christopher served as the local representative for the Boss. He ultimately became a discarded puppet once the Boss fully exploited him.

With his downfall, the Boss would not just abandon the domestic market. They would likely support a new successor.

Previously, when Justin faced life-threatening situations, Grant showed no sign of action.

Yet this time, he returned to the Salvador family with a fresh appearance after Justin's drug incident. Was this a coincidence, or did he have intricate connections with RC and the Boss?

This point of view was intriguing.

Bella felt that, regardless of whether Justin wakes up or not, Grant could not be considered an ally.

Whether he would become a major threat still needed further investigation.

In the car, Clarice voiced her concerns. “Sir, Ms. Thompson asked you to investigate the drug's origin It's clearly a test. She might be. suspicious of you. Are you sure you want to reveal the drug's details to

her?"

"There's no need for that. My brother will wake up soon."

Grant closed his eyes for a brief rest, crumpling the report in his hand into a ball of wastepaper. "But I truly underestimated Ms. Thompson. I thought she would be overwhelmed, lost, and unable to replace her bearings after such a heavy blow. But instead, she quickly composed herself. She even began to suspect me. It's truly impressive how clear-headed and rational she is. She's quite admirable."

Clarice, however, could not help but feel anxious. “Bella is suspecting you already? You've only been back in Savrow for two days. How could she be onto you so quickly?"

"The timing was off, so it's natural for her to be suspicious." Grant furrowed his brows nonchalantly. "We just need to be more careful from now on." Just then, the luxury car entered a dimly lit tunnel.

"When you gaze long into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you."

St

The flickering ghostly light danced across Grant's sharp, brooding features, casting fleeting shadows. He lifted his gaze, staring at his reflection in the car window. His eyes were cold, eerie, and menacing. It was as if he were looking at someone else.

“But unfortunately for them, I am the abyss."
