Penelope pov

Penelope woke up in the early evening, the sun was just starting to set. She looked around to see Jackson asleep on her desk. Penelope couldn’t help but smile. Jackson was such an amazing person.

She got up and looked at the notebook. He probably got all of the spellings wrong. she would have to tear out the papers of her composition book, which she hated! It was a pet peeve of hers, she may of been a bit OCD about her notes. Penelope looked and saw everything was right, as far as she could tell. Penelope smiled and gently shook him awake.

Jackson woke up startled.

“What? What?” Penelope laughed a little.

“Sorry.” Jackson looked around and saw that it was evening.

“Man we slept through dinner, want to grab something to eat?” Jackson asked. Penelope shook her head,

“No, I really don’t feel like leaving the dorm.” Jackson gave her a look,

“Don’t go looking at me like that.” He shrugged,

“There was no look.” Penelope sighed and went to her notes.

“How did I do?” Jackson asked and Penelope couldn’t help but smile.

“You did awesome, I was afraid I was going to have to tear out the pages and do it all over. But you did great!” Jackson smiled,

“Thank you. I will go ahead and order a pizza. Want to watch a movie?” Penelope nodded and put on a movie on her tv.

Penelope and Jackson watched a movie in her dorm. It was uncomfortable because her room only had her bed and a desk. So unless you were hooking up with some one it wasn’t a place to have some one over. Jackson didn’t complain though.

They enjoyed their night and went to bed. Penelope felt bad about Jackson sleeping on the floor, but she knew better than to suggest him sleeping somewhere else. Penelope finally had a good nights sleep since Max threatened her.

Penelope woke up to her alarm at six am. Penelope looked and saw Jackson was up and looking at his phone.

“Jackson?”

Jackson got off the phone and looked to Penelope concerned.

“There was an attack on the pack, that’s why Brad still isn’t out here yet.” Penelope stood up worried,

“The kids?” Jackson nodded,

“They are fine, Lili and Killian made sure of it.” Jackson said with conviction that Penelope couldn’t help but believe.

“My sister?” Jackson let out a sigh,

“Brad didn’t tell me anything. Just that their was an attack starting and to call Leroy. And he gave me a number. So I’m going to call him. You go ahead and take care of your morning routine.” Jackson walked out of her dorm while Penelope got ready for her morning classes.

She checked her phone but there was no messages from anyone. Penelope decided to reach out to both her sister and Natasha. Lili had filled her in on Natasha.

Natasha was a witch who came to the pack with her mother after Penelope had graduated. Nat had become best friends with her sister Liliana, and so when Penelope was home she usually ended up hanging out with the two of them. Then when Lili moved in with Penelope in Chicago Nat had often teleported to their apartment on the weekends.

While Penelope and Natasha weren’t best friends like her and Lili they were still close. So replaceing out Nat’s step-mother asked her witch cousin to kill her. Penelope was shocked and horrified. Penelope just wished there was something she could do to get Nat out of hiding. Penelope sent her an email generally every other day. Just to let Nat know she was thinking of her. Penelope needed to send her one to let Nat know the pack was under attack.

Penelope looked at the top of her phone and cursed internally. Penelope ignored the email from Noah, she didn’t have time to deal with his detached informal emails right now. She had to quickly change otherwise she would be late for classes. Jackson knocked on the door,

“Are you ready?”

“Just a minute!” She yelled and quickly threw on some shorts and a tshirt. She grabbed her bag and headed out the door.

“Breakfast?” He asked.

“There’s a cafeteria downstairs, but we have to get it to go, or I’ll be late.” Penelope told him and he nodded understanding.

“So did you hear from the guy Brad told you about?” Penelope asked as they headed to the cafeteria. Jackson nodded as they started down the stairs.

“Yeah he should be here tonight. We got lucky, he’s wrapping up a mission just a couple states over.” Penelope nodded feeling relieved. She won’t lie anymore, she’s scared. Penelope may have taunted Max saying that she was an powerful werewolf. That doesn’t mean werewolf’s don’t get killed by human hunters everyday. Factor in Max had basic training from the military. He was a real threat.

Jackson grabbed some food from the cafeteria and hauled a*s to the lecture hall.

“I’ll stay outside,” Jackson said as he found a bench outside the lecture door. Penelope watched him started digging into his food, and Penelope walked into her Pharmacology class.

Her classes went by well. Chris asked her to come by the study group tonight, but she declined. Penelope told him that she found another study group, which was true. Once word got out about her amazing notes, a lot of other students asked her to join their group. Penelope joined the group that met down the hall in her dorm room.

Penelope got back to her dorm room only to replace a strange man standing in front of it. They had both noticed him further down the hall. Jackson put her behind him, shielding Penelope from the unknown man.

“Who are you?” Jackson asked as they approached him.

“Hello I’m Leroy, it’s nice to meet you, Brad talks about his family all the time,” Leroy said as he shook Jackson’s hand. Penelope assumed Leroy just meant Jackson , but Leroy turned to her.

“However, you he only started talking about the last few years. He hasn’t shut about about the fact you got accepted into medical school.” Penelope couldn’t help but blush, and shake Leroy’s hand.

“Thank you.” Penelope unlocked the door to her room, and everyone stepped inside.

“All right, now let’s sit down and tell me about this gentleman.” The three of them tried to get comfortable in Penelope’s small room. Penelope told him a quick retelling of what has been going on the past few weeks, well months if you include the orientation. Penelope sat back once she was done with the tale and waited for Leroy to talk.

“So you say he found out about wolf’s when he was in the military?”

“Yeah, he was a medic. And there’s something else about that details that has been worrying me.” Penelope said hesitantly.

“What is it?” Jackson asked. Penelope looked to from Jackson to Leroy and back.

“Well… he mentioned that as a medic he gave medications to one of his patients and they responded in ways that they shouldn’t have. That’s how he knew they were shifters. At first I wanted him to tell me about what he had found out. Cause as a doctor we have to go an additional courses to learn about shifters.” Penelope took a breath, and paused.

“I just can’t put it into words. And I don’t want you to make a judgment from what I think.”

“Penelope, you know it’s a death sentence just knowing our existence.” Leroy stated, and Penelope nodded hating this whole situation.

“I just envisioned him as one of those doctors experimenting on werewolf’s.” Leroy didn’t say anything, he just nodded. Jackson looked at her, and took her hands in his.

“Like I said, just knowing about supernatural creatures is enough to be a death sentence. But given that he’s been threatening you, that’s something else entirely.”

“What now?” Jackson asked looking to Leroy who sighed.

“Now I go back to my superiors and let them know the situation. They will make a decision. I’ll let you know,” Leroy said and left the room. Penelope let out a heavy sigh.

“It will be all right,” Jackson said as he gave her a hug. Penelope wasn’t so sure anymore.
