The Fall Ball
Chapter 24

(Rose)

We all enter through the mall doors. The Queen and Luna are walking side by side in front of Craig and I. They are talking about what shop to start at.

I’m starting to get a headache due to all the thoughts that keep racing through my head. I just want to get the shopping done so I can head back and lay down.

I just about walked into someone. Craig grabbed me and pulled me out of the way quickly.

I thanked him, but the person I almost walked into wouldn’t let it be.

“Watch where you’re walking! You almost knocked right into me.” She shrieks.

“Yeah, I know I apologize.” I say to her and turn to walk away.

“You need to learn to respect those that are higher ranking in this pack. I am dating Ash the future King. So you need to show some respect!” She sneers at me.

“Look, I said I was sorry. I have a lot going on. And that is all I can do. I didn’t knock into you, so I don’t know why you are acting like this.” I say.

“Just watch your back. And learn some respect.” She says and turns to walk away.

“Excuse me, Abby. What do you think you are doing? You have no right to speak to my guest’s that way.” Queen Mary says walking up to us. Instantly, Abby bows down.

“I am sorry my Queen, I did not realize that she was with you.” Abby stammers out.

“It does not matter who they are with. You need to respect others to gain any respect. Learn to treat others the way you want to be treated.” Queen Mary says and then turns and grabs my hand and pulls me away.

“I’m sorry Rose. Abby is a very rude person. Please don’t pay her any attention you did nothing wrong.” Queen Mary says to me.

“Thank you, my Queen.” I say.

“Please just call me Mary,” she says. I smile and nod at her.

She lets go of my hand and walks next to Luna Liz. They finally agree on a store. As we walk in, I notice that this place is way out of my price range. All the dresses look amazing.

The two women instantly walk up to the rack and start pulling dresses off to try. An employee walks up to each of them to help them out. The employees seem to know the Queen.

Next someone walks up to me.

“Hello, my name is Iris, can I help you replace a dress?” She asks me with a smile.

“Yes please, I have no idea what I am looking for.” I tell her.

Craig then chimes in. “She is looking for a dress for the Ball, we are here from a neighboring pack. I think she would look amazing in a blue dress.” He says with a smile.

“Oh, yes no problem. What type of dress would you like?” She asks me. I think about it.

“I have no idea, I don’t normally wear fancy dresses,” I say to her.

She giggles. “Not a problem, we can try as many options as you would like. For now lets just walk around and see if any catch your eye?”

“That sounds perfect,” I say and we start walking. Craig is instantly pulling dresses down for me to try. Iris just giggles and places them on a rack in a dressing room.

I am still looking around, I have grabbed a few and Iris has placed them into the room as well.

I hear giggles. As I turn, I see both the Luna and Queen standing in front of the mirrors. Both have smiles on their faces and are twirling around.

I walk over to them. “You both look amazing!” I say.

They both turn and thank me. Noticing that I haven’t tried on any dresses yet, they push me into the dressing room. There are like 30 dresses in here!

I sigh. Iris comes into help me. “So where would you like to start?” She asks me. I look around.

“First, I know that I want a long dress, but can we take the short ones off the rack?” She giggles and grabs them off the rack.

I decide to try a red one first. Iris helps me to put it on. I walk out of the room to look in the mirror. Before I even walk up to it Luna Liz is turning me around.

“Red is not the color for you my dear,” she says pushing me back into the dressing room.

I look at Iris. “I guess we can take out any of the red ones as well.” She nods and grabs them off the rack.

Next, I decide to go with a black dress, which is shimmery and has a lace back. I walk out.

“Nope, that just washes out your beautiful skin.” Queen Mary says.

I turn around rolling my eyes. I can hear Craig laughing. Iris looks at me and grabs all the black ones.

That leaves two dresses left. One is a dark blue mermaid style with a high slit. I don’t think that is my style. So I look at the other one. It is a baby blue with diamond straps. It is a full ball gown. Looks like it came from Cinderella. I smile as I grab it off the rack.

Iris smiles at me, after she helps me into it. “This one is perfect. You look like a princess!” She says.

I smile at her and walk out. I stop in front of the dressing room door waiting for one of them to send me back in to try another one.

But no one says anything. I look at them and they all have their mouths open wide in shock.

“Rose, that is beautiful!” Craig says. “You actually look like a girl,” he says with a smile.

I look at him and smile. Then I walk up to the mirrors and I gasp.

It’s perfect!

I look at the Luna and Queen and they both smile and at the same time say, “That’s the one!”

I smile.

“Yes I think so too.” I say.

“Now we need to replace shoes,” Queen Mary says. I go back into the dressing room. I come out and walk up to the counter.

“Yes, the King is paying for these. Please wrap them and send them to the palace for me.” Queen Mary says to Iris.

“Yes my Queen, not a problem,” she says.

We walk out of that store and stroll past a few more. We walk into the shoe store, and instantly we have employees with us. We all wander around looking. Luna and the Queen found shoes, so now it’s my turn.

“Miss, what kind of shoes are you looking for?” The salesman asks me. I turn and look at the Queen.

“She needs a pair of sparkling silver shoes.” She says with a smile.

“I have the perfect pair!” He says and rushes off to the back room. He comes back out with a box.

“These are the only pair we have, they are a size 7.5,” He tells me.

“Perfect, that is my size!” I say with a smile.

He then pulls out the most beautiful shoes I have ever seen! They are silver covered in diamonds. They look like they are made of glass. They are amazing! I try them on and they fit perfectly.

As the Queen holds up her shoes and the Luna’s, she says, “We’ll take them and these.” The salesman smiles and nods his head.

“Not a problem, I will have them delivered to the palace for you my queen.” He says.

We walk out of the shoe store. We now have everything we need. And I am so ready to go back and lay down.

“That was a great shopping trip!” The Queen says.

“Yes it was, thank you so much!” Luna Liz says.

“Yes, thank you my Queen.” I say to her.

She smiles at us.

We walk out of the mall and the cars are already waiting for us. We get into our designated cars and start heading back to the palace.

“You will look amazing the night of the ball,” Craig says to me with a smile. I giggle.

“Yes, I think I will,” I tell him.

We return to the palace. As we are getting out of the cars. The King and Alpha are waiting on the steps for us. The two women rush up the stairs and k**s their mates and tell them about our trip.

Craig and I get to the door.

“So I hear you found the perfect dress today?” Alpha says to me.

“Yes I did, and thank you my King.” I say.

“Not a problem, Rose, it is my pleasure.” He says with a smile.

“I think I am going to lay down for a little while. I have a headache.” I tell them while walking through the door.

“That is fine. Supper will be served in two hours, so please come down then to eat.” The Queen says to me.

“Yes my Queen,” I say to her with a smile.
