The Fall Ball
Chapter 46

(Rose)

The look on Ashlee’s face was priceless. Shock and anger. She is furious and you can see it on her face. She gasps and everyone is watching her. Craig and Alex are stifling their laughter.

“What does she mean your stuff has been moved into Ash’s suite? And why would he be okay with that?” Ashlee asks me. I look at her and smile.

“Ash and I have became close this week while I have been here. So he has no problem sharing his space with myself and my bodyguard.” I tell her. She growls at me.

“He would never agree to spend time with a nobody like you!” Ashlee yells at me. She goes to lunge at me. But before she can get close enough, Raymond stops her.

“I suggest you think long and hard before you do that. It may be the last thing you ever do. She is more important then you realize, it is not my place to say anything. But you will regret everything that you have ever done to her.” He hisses in her ear.

I smile at her.

“Well as fun as this has been. I am going to go for a little walk before lunch. I hope you and the other girls all settle in well.” I say and walk towards the door.

The guys all follow me out of the room.

As we head down the stairs we can still her screaming. She is making a scene and everyone is turning to look at the top of the stairs. As we get to the bottom of the stairs we see Luna Mary and my mother talking to each other.

They are giggling and I am sure that she has informed my mother of what happened upstairs. My mom looks at me and shakes her head.

“She just doesn’t take a hint does she?” Mom says to me. “No I don’t think she can. Come tonight she will be in for a big surprise.” I say to them. “We are gonna go on our walk now, before lunch.” I say as I head towards the front door.

“Let’s try this again, I could really use some fresh air.” Craig says as he opens the door for me.

As he opens the door I am surprised to see so much going on. People are everywhere. There are people hanging up lights, people are placing flowers and tents are being put up. It looks amazing.

“Well they are going all out for the ball aren’t they?” I say out loud to the group. Alex laughs. “Um no, this is all for tonight. The decorations tomorrow will be different.” He says with a smile.

I look at him shocked. “ I don’t need all of this. Its just another day, and the ball is tomorrow. I thought tonight was just a get together for all of the packs to eat and relax and meet one another.” I say looking around.

“That was the original plan. But then you showed up, its also your birthday and you are the future Queen. So you deserve your own party.” He says to me.

“Well looks like you get to be the center of attention. No longer just a guest that can hide in the corner like you wanted.” Craig says from next to me as he pats me on the back.

“Why would you want to hide from everyone at a party?” Raymond asks me. Craig laughs, “She is a homebody, and doesn’t interact with people very much.” He says walking in front of me.

I roll my eyes at him, “Not like it was my choice. I was never invited to anything, and when I was it was so someone could play a prank on me. Living with the wolves as a human was not a good experience for me.” I say to them.

“Well that is gonna change now. You are the future queen. And you have your wolf, and she is more powerful than any of us. You will always be the attention grabber, whether you want to or not, you wont really have much choice. Your aura will demand everyone’s attention and respect.” Raymond says to me.

“I don’t want that though. I wanna be able to be myself, and I don’t think that is going to happen anymore.” I say to them.

“I am sorry that this is happening to you. I know that this is not what you wanted. But is the will of the goddess, and you cant really change your fate.” Alex says. I roll my eyes at him.

“I never wanted any of this. I just wanted to turn 18 and leave. I was going to go and explore the world and replace out who I was. As I have never been like those around me, I have never fit in.” I say to them.

We continue to talk as we walk. We end up walking around to the back of the castle. There are people out here working too. They seem to be setting up a stage and chairs for everyone.

“This is where everything will start tonight. The King will speak with everyone, before we eat. And then the music will start in the ball room. Then its party time for everyone.” Alex says with a smile on his face.

I shake my head at him, this seems like way too much.

“Get used to it. Before you know it, you will have everything you could ever want. And you can still travel the world, just now you will already know who you are and what you deserve.” Lilly says to me.

I suppose she is right. I will just have to make a few changes. And now I get to replace myself with the support of my friends and family. My stomach growls. They guys all laugh at me.

“Well I think the queen has spoken, its time to head in and eat some lunch. Ash just linked me and said the meeting was over and they where headed to eat too.” Alex says to me.
