The Fall Ball
Chapter 47

(Rose)

As we enter the castle. I am stopped by opal. “Miss Rose, Ash has asked that we go to the smaller dinning room away from all the joining packs.” She says to me. I nod to her.

“I am going to take off. Need to go check in on my guys,” Raymond says to me. “Will I see you later on tonight?” I ask him. He smiles and nods at me, “Tonight is about you, I wouldn’t miss it.” He says as he heads to the door.

We walk into the private dining room, and I see Ash standing off to the side talking with his father. He smiles as we walk in, and waves me over. As soon as I am within reach of him, he reaches out and grabs my hand and pulls me into him. He pulls me up against him and hugs me tight. I feel all the sparks that he creates as he touches me.

I melt into him and he rubs my back. I hear the King chuckle from next to us. I look up to him and see him smiling. “I remember those days when it seemed like a few hours away from your mate was a lifetime. Cherish the bond and it will be good to you. The goddess blesses those of us that trust in her and what she has planned for us.” He says as he starts walking towards the table.

“Ya, well I think she cursed me…” I mutter under my breath. Ash stops walking and looks at me. “Is that how you feel about the mate bond?” He asks me.

“No, its not the bond that I am upset with. I’m just upset about having to be this person that I don’t think I can be. I went from believing I was a human amongst the wolves, to being the most powerful wolf created within a week. I don’t see how any of this is a blessing.” I say to him.

He looks at me and nods his head. “ I can see how that is a lot to take in at once. But I am sure with time and training you will be great. And you have all of us here to help support you and guide you along the way.” He says kissing the top of my head.

We make it to the table. And Ash pulls my chair out for me. I smile at him as I sit down, he takes a seat next to me. I look around and everyone is sitting down. My parents are next to Alpha Jake and Luna Liz, the King and Queen are at the heads of the table. Ash and I are across from my parents. Then we have Craig and Alex. The room is full of people that are here to support me and are willing to do everything they can to protect me.

I smile to myself as I realize that I am not as alone as I think I am in all of this.

Within a few minutes the doors to the kitchen open. And out come the staff with carts of food. They place it all on the table and it smells amazing. Hamburgers, potato salad, macaroni and cheese and …. fresh fruit.

Everyone starts to pile their plates full of food. I reach for the fruit, but as I reach for it I get a sharp pain in my head. And I let out a shriek And clutch my head.

“Are you okay?” I hear Ash ask from next to me. I take a few deep breaths and I nod at him. “That was strange, I had a sharp pain in my head all of a sudden and then it was gone.” I say to him.

“Do you want me to call in the doctor?” Luna Queen asks me. I shake my head no to her. “ No, I feel fine now. If it happens again we can have the doctor look me over.” I say to her.

Ash hands me the fruit and I put some on my plate. Craig passes me the hamburgers and we continue to fill our plates. The room stays quiet as we all began to eat. I’m to lost in thoughts to really care about anything else.

“Rose, did you replace a dress this morning? I tried to have some of all kinds and colors brought in so that you could replace the perfect one.” Luna Queen asks me. I smile and nod at her. “Ya, Craig, Alex and Raymond helped me replace the perfect one. And Opal helped too. She is so sweet and was an amazing help.” I say and smile.

“I cant wait to see which one you picked. They were all so pretty.” My mom says to me. I smile.

“Actually the one I picked was the one that Ash picked out for me and had sent to my room.” I say. I look to see Ash blushing. “ I saw it in the store the other day and thought of you instantly. I didn’t know when you would be able to wear it. But I knew I wanted you to have it.” He says leaning over to k**s my cheek.

I smile at him, I leaned over to him. Surprising him as I k**s him. He blushes darker as I pull away, I am blushing as I go back to eating.

We finish eating, the kitchen staff comes out and starts to pick up the table. We all stand and start to go our own ways. But before I can ask Ash what the plan is, we hear screaming coming from the main room. So we all head out that way.

“What do you mean I can not eat in there? My Alpha and Luna are in there as well as a few other pack members.” Ashlee yells at Opal.

“I am sorry but this is a private meal with the King and Queen and the people they asked to be. You where not invite.” Opal says, while standing tall.

“Well why not? When they have Rose in there, she doesn’t even have a wolf!” Ashlee shouts. Opal lets out a growl. “You will respect our future Queen!” She yells in a voice that isn’t quite hers, then I notice that her eyes have changed color and its not her but her wolf speaking.

Ashlee jumps at the sudden change in Opals calm demeaner. “She may be your future Queen, but she will always be a little pathetic nobody to me.” Ashlee says. As she finishes her sentence, she is pinned to the ground.

“I told you once already that you need to learn your place.” Raymond to her.
