“T’was the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;” Zander’s voice began.

Chloe sat next to Nicki, Phoenix, the small pup of around 18 months who had been rescued by Drake when he orchestrated escaping the Ullswater pack, as the little girl was abandoned by her Delta parents, as the pup was born omega, and had basically been left to die in the horrific omega accommodation, was sat on her knee. The whole pack who had attended the Christmas Eve party sat listening to the hypnotic baritone voice of Zander as he read out the famous poem by Clement Clarke Moore. Chloe only knew the name of the poet because Zander was forever a teacher at heart, the perfect Headmaster, so he had informed the pack of his name before he began to read. As he continued with the poem, everyone was engaged in his reading, their full attention on their Alpha, his voice reverberated through Chloe, causing the tell tale ache between her legs to begin. The light blue shirt he wore was rolled up to his elbow, showing off his strong forearms, the black trousers tight against his muscular thighs, his black hair hung where his fingers had just raked through it, the stubble on his strong jaw, everything about him just caused the ache to increase and Chloe’s heart to flutter, and goosebumps explode around her body. She could never take for granted just how blessed she truly was to have this perfect specimen of a man as hers, and hers alone.

Chloe let out a contented sigh, as Phoenix began to play with the ends of her long purple hair, the little girl was stealing a piece of her heart, she was so tiny for her age, and was quite reserved for an 18 month old, but had instantly reached out to Chloe for cuddles, something Drake had told Caroline was totally uncharacteristic for the little one.

Zander finished the poem, and everyone began to clap spontaneously together, as he introduced Josh.

This was the first Christmas for both Chloe and Nicki, and they were just as caught up in the pack traditions as the new members and guests were.

Nicki smiled up at her mate, a broad smile on her face as he began to recite ‘When Santa Got Stuck Up The Chimney.” making the children all giggle and join in with the rhyme. Her own pup kicked inside her at the sound of Joshua’s voice, and Nicki rubbed her stomach lovingly.

Caroline walked around the pack members with a tray full of hot chocolate, ensuring each pup had one, as Drake watched her with pride, Amy followed with a tray full of freshly baked Christmas cookies, that were cut into perfect Christmas trees, and each had been iced by the children themselves, earlier in the day to keep them all entertained. Gav was walking behind her, the mate bond increasing in strength between them, but he was still frustrated as Amy had yet to feel it not being eighteen yet, still she was seventeen in a few days, so he had only a year or so to wait, but patience was not his friend as his wolf constantly wanted the reassurance that his mate was safe, or near him at all times, driving him crazy.

As the children finished their hot chocolate and cookie, and Josh recited the last of his poems, it was bedtime, and all the parents gathered up the small excited pups. Cheryl walked over to Chloe, to take Phoenix from her and return her to the hospital children’s ward, where the pups without their parents were staying at the moment. Chloe held the little girl closer to her chest, not wanting to give her up. Zander watched as his mate struggled to let the little girl go, and he wrapped his arm around Chloe’s shoulder.

“Would you like for Phoenix to stay with us tonight?” he whispered softly.

Chloe looked up at him, her eyes wide.

“Would you not mind?” she asked.

“No, she is adorable, and I am happy for her to stay with us.” Zander chuckled, placing his little finger out to Phoenix, who grabbed it with her small hand, her large blue eyes staring up in wonderment at the big alpha.

Chloe grinned up at him, he was so damn perfect, her heart skipping beats in her chest.

“Caroline, could you please organise a cot and some of the toys given to Phoenix to be taken to our room?” Zander asked her.

“I certainly will.” Caroline grinned at her Alpha and Luna, as Drake instantly offered to help.

“No Drake, I will go get it, you relax, I will be back shortly.” Caroline insisted, not wanting her mate to task himself just yet, he was still so weak and malnourished.

Drake looked into Caroline’s eyes, smiling softly at her.

“I can carry some toys babe.”

Caroline nodded, not wanting to further insist he rest, knowing he hated being looked at as incapable, when he had survived so much abuse and mistreatment.

“Oh, and a baby monitor please” Chloe added.

Zander placed his hand on the bottom of Chloe’s back, as she carried Phoenix up to the Barbie’s bedroom, as the little one began to fall asleep in her arms.

They entered the room, and Chloe placed the little girl into the cot, tucking her in, a soft smile on her lips as she stared lovingly down at her.

“She needs a family.” Zander whispered, not wanting to wake the baby.

“I know.” Chloe sighed. She realised that once they found pack members to take the little girl, she would have to give her up, but nothing within her wanted that to happen. She had bonded with Phoenix, even in 24 hours, she felt something deep in her heart for the pup.

“Mine!” Sheba called out in her head, and Chloe’s heart filled to bursting point with a mother’s love.

Zander took hold of Chloe’s hand and sat her on the bed beside him, then looked deep into her eyes.

“Chloe, when God closes a door, he opens a window.” He whispered.

Chloe’s heart skipped a beat as she held her breath, waiting, and hoping he was going to say what she so desperately wanted to hear.

“I know it may be too soon after our loss, but Phoenix has a bond with you, and I believe you with her. She has captured my heart as well, even Caesar is feeling overprotective of her.” Zander began.

“Sheba just said ‘mine’ to me.” Chloe admitted, her eyes wide with hope.

Zander’s smile widened, as he nodded his head in agreement, the unspoken words hung between them as they looked in the cot at the peacefully sleeping baby.

“Ours.” Zander grinned, as Chloe nodded her head furiously.

“Ours,” she repeated.

“Well, I am not going to let our new daughter wake up with only a few presents from Santa.” Zander smiled.

“Already ahead of you, when I went shopping with Lacey this afternoon for Christmas presents for the new members, I may have gone a little overboard with gifts for Phoenix.” Chloe giggled, then stood up and opened the door to the closet, which was packed full of wrapped presents.

Zander chuckled, and nodded his head in approval, then opened up his own closet door, and showed a mountain of wrapped presents in his own that spilt out onto the floor, making Chloe laugh.

“Snap!” he chuckled.

Both of the mates grinned at each other, then making sure the baby monitor was working, they each bent over the cot, placing a small k**s on Phoenix’s cheek.

“Sleep tight little princess, mammy and daddy will be back soon.” Chloe told her, then picking up the monitor, the pair of them walked out of the room, hand in hand, both with hearts filled with love.

As they entered the living area, Zander looked up, noticing the mistletoe some one had hung, and grabbed Chloe by the waist, pulling her flush to his chest. His head dipped, as Chloe looked up at him, her lips slightly parted. Zander gently rubbed his nose against hers, as her breathing hitched, and his lips finally found purchase. The k**s was soft, gentle, loving, until desire took over, as Zander’s tongue entered her mouth, dancing a tango with Chloe’s. Sparks erupted all over them, as the explored each other. Chloe wrapped her arms around his neck, as Zander deepened the k**s, fisting her hair into his hands. Her body instinctively pushed into his, as her h**s began to gyrate against the large bulge in his trousers. Zander let out a low growl, as Chloe began to softly m**n into his mouth. Everything around them faded away, they no longer stood in the doorway of the living room, nor were they in front of the pack members. It was just them, lost in the haze of l**t and desire, when suddenly chanting brought them back to reality.

Ethan was singing, as everyone joined in, the Omegas from Ullswater all staring in shock that the pack, no matter what rank, began to chant, applaud and sing, laughing at the Alpha and Luna. They would never dare join in and behave this way at their pack. It would result in a whipping for sure, if not worse.

Chloe began to giggle, as she flipped her middle finger up at the pack, and they all began laughing.

Zander let out a low growl at the interruption, but then lifted his princess up in his arms and turned to the pack.

“Do you lot want a disco, or not!” he playfully reprimanded them, then nodded to Kris who was standing behind the DJ stand, and he instantly began to play music, as the pack members all began to cheer and dance, making sure to include the new members.

Nicki watched on with a smile, she wanted more than anything to join in the dancing, but her ever growing bump would not let her. Josh sat beside her, as they giggled and laughed, attempting a hand jive of sorts together. Ethan grabbed Ellie, he was not taking no for an answer and began to dance like dork, making her laugh hysterically at him. Faith and Luke watched on with pride. Robin took hold of Lacey’s hand and dragged her to the dancefloor, as Zander chuckled at Chloe.

“May as well join them.” He laughed, as he dragged her to the floor, and began what Chloe could only describe as dad dancing.

The party lasted through the night, when, finally, it was time to head up to bed. Chloe took hold of the microphone.

“Sorry guys, but that is the end of the party, it is now past midnight, so Merry Christmas. Omega’s, please do not worry about clean up, the leadership of the pack will do it for you all. We are having Christmas lunch at one pm tomorrow, all are welcome to join, and at 3pm, if we can all gather here, we will give out the presents from your Alpha and, of course, me, so expect some weird stuff as well. See you all tomorrow.” Chloe announced.

Caroline instantly began to start to clean up the room, when Chloe stopped her.

“No, go home with your mate and family, Caroline, we are all doing this for you guys, as you look after us so well during the year.” Chloe ordered.

An hour later, the room was cleaned, as Lacey slumped onto the sofa, Robin beside her. Nicki was falling asleep on Joshua’s shoulder, although she had not done any clean up.

“I like this idea, I think it should become a tradition that every Christmas eve, the leadership and ranked members of the pack do clean up for the Omegas.” Lacey nodded her approval at Chloe.

“I agree.” Faith smiled; she had loved the idea.

“Then it is official, each Christmas eve, the Omega’s do not lift a finger to clean up.” Zander grinned at his mate.

“Now excuse me everyone, but we have a long day tomorrow, and so I am taking my mate to bed.” Zander grinned.

As they walked into the bedroom, Zander instantly took hold of Chloe, his hands roaming around her body.

Chloe let out a soft g***n, as he lifted her to the bed, both giggling, as they stripped the others’ clothes off. Zander lay on top of his beautiful mate, as he began to k**s her down the neck, his lips sucking slightly on her mark. Chloe’s legs were wrapped around his waist as she let out a loud m**n, a noise that disturbed Phoenix in her slumber, and the baby began to cry.

Zander chuckled, as Chloe m****d slightly, then laughed.

“Welcome to parenthood.” Zander chuckled, as Chloe walked to the cot and picked up the fussing baby, but with a feeling of pure contentment and utter happiness even if her body was begging for her mate to release the pressure it had gathered throughout the night.
