The Headmaster Alpha’s Mate Chapter 99

Caroline stood in shock as her wolf danced inside of her. She never believed that she would ever, have a second chance mate, especially not so soon after everything that had happened to her, yet here she was, and for the first time since Duncan left she felt whole again.

Drake looked at the stunning woman before him, she was utter perfection, and he was filled with concern she would reject him, after all, he was a weak nobody. His mate had died a year before, from malnutrition and being over worked at the Ullswater pack, he did not know how he had survived this long without her, especially in his weakened state, yet here he was, face to face with someone who instantly caused his wolf to howl with joy in his head.

Ellie watched on her eyes wide with shock, seeing the colour instantly return to her mother’s cheeks, she let out a small squeal of excitement, happiness consumed her, as she watched on. Ethan stood beside her, and his hot breath whispered in her ear.

“Are you okay with this?” he asked.

Ellie nodded her head, a wide smile spreading across her face, as her mother’s eye connected with hers, and she gave her a thumbs up to let her know she approved.

“Yes, I hope Tom is as well though.” Ellie sighed.

“Well, I can help you tell him if you want?” Ethan asked, he did not want Ellie to face Tom on her own, and he had a feeling Caroline would be busy making sure her new mate was fed and watered, she had a nurturing spirit at the best of times, and he knew she would be desperate to make sure her mate received everything he needed.

Zander reached out and wrapped his arm around Chloe’s shoulder, as she looked at Caroline.

“Where God closes a door, he opens a window.” He whispered softly to her.

“This is amazing, I hope Caroline is okay with it.” Chloe whispered back to her mate.

“Oh, I think she is more than okay, look at the glow on her face Chloe, the light is back in her eyes.” Zander grinned at Chloe.

“Well, let’s just hope Drake is more understanding than her previous mate, about her past activities with her Alpha.” Chloe sighed.

Zander stiffened, hating the reminder that he was ultimately the cause of Caroline’s pain.

“Sorry, I was not being nasty Zander, I was just thinking aloud.” Chloe sighed, realising her mate had taken her words to heart.

“I know, but at the same time, I do feel so much guilt.” Zander sighed softly.

Chloe wrapped her arms around his waist and tilted her head up placing a soft k**s on his cheek, to try and bring him some comfort. She was over the little dalliance he had with Caroline, years before he had met her. It was a long time ago, she just hoped that history did not repeat itself, and Drake was not threatened by what had happened.

Josh ushered the omegas into the pack house, as Nicki waddled to the women, and introduced herself, her heart breaking as each of them almost cowered away from her in fear.

Ethan gathered up a couple of the younger pups in his arms, as Ellie bent down and did the same, leaving the nine year old boy to walk behind them, his eyes wide with wonder as he entered the packhouse. In his old pack James had not been allowed to enter the packhouse, nor was he allowed any toys or to interact with the children who had a higher b***d rank than he had, and so to see omega kids playing with Delta and Gamma kids happily, he was in utter shock.

“I am going to make up some formula for the younger pups.” Ellie announced, as she placed the two pups she was carrying onto the floor, then introduced them to the pack pups telling them to play nice.

Ethan walked back to the parents who had survived, and gently motioned for them to join their offspring. some of the pups were orphans, and he hoped they would replace families here with them so they would be safe and loved.

Caroline stood still unable to take her eyes off Drake, until Zander walked up to the pair of them.

“Come on, you two have a lot to talk about, you can use my office, I will bring you some soup.” He smiled at them, then led them to his office so the new mates could talk, as Chloe rushed to the kitchen and grabbed a bowl of soup and some bread, with a glass of fresh orange juice, and past it to Ellie.

“Go take this to your mum and her mate, then go get Tom, we will sit and talk to him about this together in my office.” Chloe smiled at the young girl.

“Yeah, thank you Luna.” Ellie smiled, as Chloe raised an eyebrow at her.

“Sorry, Chloe.” Ellie giggled, taking the tray, and heading towards the Alpha office.

Zander looked at Chloe, she was in full Luna mode, and for all she really wanted the pack and her friends to just use her name, he knew it was difficult for them when she was rushing around being the perfect Luna and princess to them all.

“I will get Tom.” Cheryl stated, she wanted to be in with him when he found out as well, she had worked closely with the whole family of late, and she felt it would be less scary for the young boy if she was with him when he was told.

“He is already making his way over, Ellie linked him.” Chloe explained as they waited for the young pup to arrive in the office.

Tom arrived at the packhouse looking a little confused as to why his sister, Alpha and Luna wanted to see him so urgently. He had been excitedly gathering some of his own toys to gift to the new pups, when Ellie had asked him to go to the packhouse, but he picked up the large box he had filled with helicopters, tanks, and Lego, and made his way to the centre of the living room, placing the toys in front of the new pups. Turning he smiled at James.

“Hi, I am Tom, and the girl over there with the tray is my sister, her name is Ellie.” He smiled.

“I…i….i am J…j…James.” James nervously stammered, for all he could sense Omega in Tom, he held himself and spoke as if he were a pup from a ranked family.

“Nice to meet you James, here are some toys for you all, I know there are lots more coming from other families. But this is my favourite.” Tom smiled handing James a green tank.

“I have the other at home, would you like to play with me sometime?” Tom asked.

James nodded his face blushing, he was not really sure how to play, he had seen other pups from the ranked families in his own pack play, but was never allowed to join in, he had to work in the laundry room, separating all the pack’s washing into sperate piles.

“Sorry, I have to go, Chloe our Luna wants to see me, I will be back soon.” Tom smiled and ran towards the Luna office.

James watched on, concerned about his new friend, being called to the Luna or Alpha office was never a good thing, at least not where he came from, and he hoped the whipping Tom would receive would not have silver tips, because that hurt and did not heal for weeks and weeks.

Tom knocked on the Luna office door, and ran happily in to see Chloe, a wide smile on his little face.

Noticing Cheryl and the Alpha were also present, he stopped slightly his small brows furrowing slightly.

“Hi Tom, come and have a seat with Cheryl.” Chloe welcomed him.

Chloe walked from behind her desk and crouched down in front of Tom, a soft smile on her face, as Zander sat beside him on the sofa.

“Tom, I want you to be brave, but Ellie has some important news about your Mam. It is good news, so do not worry.” Chloe gently told him, as if on cue, Ellie knocked on the door and walked in, and smiled at her brother.

“Does he know?” Ellie asked, as the adults all shook their heads.

“Tom, Mam, she has found her second chance mate.” Ellie excitedly came straight to the point.

Tom sat in shock for a moment, nobody spoke giving the young man time to digest the information he had just been given. Looking up at Ellie he whispered softly.

“Is she happy?” he asked.

Ellie nodded her head.

“Yes, she is back to our Mam, almost as soon as she met James, and I have just spoken to him, he is lovely.” Ellie smiled at her young sibling.

“What about Dad? Did she get her second chance because I killed him?” Tom asked.

Cheryl wrapped her arm around the small boy’s shoulders, Tom lived with guilt, he really believed he had hurt his father when his wolf shifted so early and attacked the man who was hurting his mother.

“Tom, you didn’t kill Dad, don’t worry about that, but sometimes when a wolf is rejected, they are given a second chance at happiness, and Mam has got that now.” Ellie smiled at her brother.

Tom nodded is little head, then looked at Chloe and Zander.

“Alpha, will her new mate be allowed to live with us?” he asked.

“Yes of course, if that is what they both want.” Zander smiled down at Tom.

“What about my new friend James?” Tom asked his head tilted to one side.

“Yes, either here, or at one of our sister packs, that has to be decided.” Chloe answered with a smile.

“Could he live with us? He doesn’t have a mammy or daddy beside him, so I think he doesn’t have anyone.” Tom sighed.

“Well, that is up to your mam.” Zander chuckled, amazed at just how much of a big heart the little boy had.

Tom nodded.

“I will ask her, when she introduces me to her new mate, she will be sure to agree, if I promise it is okay for her to let her mate live with us.” Tom nodded, pleased with his little plan.

Chloe giggled and grinned at Tom.

“Well, we do not manipulate people Tom, but I think it is a cunning Idea.” Chloe laughed.

“Well, we have room, as long as you don’t mind sharing your bedroom.” Ellie pondered.

“I don’t mind at all, he can share my toys and clothes, although he is a lot thinner than me, but I am sure Mam will help him to eat again.” Tom nodded wisely.

“Tom, I am so proud to call you, my brother.” Ellie smiled at her younger brother.

“Cool, so can I go play with James and the new pups now please?” Tom asked as Zander nodded his head at the little boy, and he rushed out of the office, excited to play with new people.

Zander chuckled and shook his head slightly in amusement.

“He is a treasure that boy, he has a heart of gold.” He grinned at Chloe.

“Yes, he sure is. Now, Ellie can you keep an eye on the new pups, and get Beta Faith a list of those who do not have parents with them please?” Chloe asked Ellie.

“Sure thing, and thank you Chloe” Ellie smiled, then went to do the job she had been given.

Cheryl looked at Chloe and Zander.

“Hey, I was thinking, I never use my cottage anymore, I stay with Andrew all the time at his apartment on top of the hospital, I think it is time I gave it up, I get the feeling we need the space.”

“We have plenty of spare cottages for new arrivals, after we split the pack, we have accommodation going free, so there is no need if you are not ready.” Chloe informed her.

“Oh Chloe, I am more than ready.” Cheryl giggled blushing slightly.

“Then, yes, we will make good use of the cottage.” Zander grinned at Cheryl.

They all walked out of the office to see Caroline blushing, handing James another bowl of soup and giving him one of the cranberry cookies Sarah had made earlier, encouraging him to eat. Tom stood with a wide eyed James as he introduced him to his mother, and Caroline instantly gathered the pup in her arms, and held him to her with love, as James looked down at his new mate full of pride, she was an amazing woman, and his heart tripled in size. He did not care about her past, it was exactly that a past, they all had one, he only cared that she was kind, loving and welcoming to everyone, she was absolute perfection.

“Guess James has a new family.” Chloe grinned at Zander who nodded in agreement.

“Okay, Listen in everyone.” Zander’s voice commanded all the pack, the new arrivals shook slightly hearing the Alpha aura in his voice.

“Those of you who have just joined us, you are most welcome, we will show you to your accommodation after our pack Doctor, has taken a look at you all. There will be plenty of soup in the kitchen, you come and get some when ever you are hungry, but for now I would avoid eating to much bread with it, as it will stretch your stomachs and will hurt you. Tonight, we are all going to continue to dress the Christmas tree, it is our pack’s tradition that all members have a family bauble that they place on the tree, so to our new guests, please take one of the baubles from the box provided, there is glitter and glue, and make your own, then join us to hang it on the tree. Whilst you are here, this is your home. To the Crescent Moon Pack, please welcome our guests with open hearts and arms, as I know you will. There is space enough here for everyone, if any of you should some of you wish to leave after Christmas you may do so, nobody will hold you against your will, but you are all welcome to stay. We also have two other packs, The silver moon pack which is ran by Alpha Robin and Luna Lacey here.” Zander motioned to them with his hand as way of introduction.

“Along with the Silverback, pack which is ran by Alpha Josh and Luna Nicki here, if you want to stay in either pack, you are all welcome there as well.” Zander continued.

“But for now, let us eat the soup, make your baubles, and let’s start the Christmas celebrations.” Chloe grinned at everyone, as someone began to play Christmas songs over the speakers, and the pack all welcomed the new additions to the fold.
