The Headmaster Alpha's Mate -
The Headmaster Alpha’s Mate Chapter 81
Zander felt the b***d drain from his body, as he shifted back to his human form, his head began to spin, as he let out a primal scream. Something was happening to his beloved mate, his princess, the girl who was so strong, that had taken everything in her stride, but now Caesar was telling him she was in so much emotional trauma her wolf was concerned about her mental health. His shoulders slumped, as the feeling of failure washed over her. How could he have let her go alone to search for her mother, why had he not got to her quicker? Feeling like he wanted to just curl up into a ball on the forest floor, and give in to the sheer weight of his fractured emotions, Caesar began to take over, forcing Zander to shift back. He knew his human counterpart was falling apart, but the Alpha Wolf would not allow his regret and self-loathing to take over their minds. They had a job to do, and that was replaceing their princess.
Caesar instantly began to sniff the b***d of his mate, once more, thankful there was not a lot of it, indicating her injuries were not life threatening. The burn in his nostrils confirmed that she had silver in her b***d stream. He concentrated, trying to discern just how much was flowing in her veins. He took another sniff, it was enough to kill a lesser wolf, but hope sprung in his heart, and encouraged Zander. She was not a normal wolf, she was a royal-blooded princess, and it would take three times as much silver to permanently affect his princess.
The sounds of paws running through the trees indicated the arrival of the pack trackers. Terrance was with them, along with Faith and Ethan, all in their wolf form.
“Zander, what is happening?” Faith asked. She had tried to link up with him for the last ten minutes, but he was blocking everyone, due to his emotional state.
“Chloe has been taken, she has silver in her b***d.” He managed to inform the group.
“Okay Alpha, we will follow your lead.” Terrance stated, awaiting further instructions.
“Terrance, I want you to take point on this along with the trackers, Ethan, keep close behind just in case we need you, Faith, liaise with the others from the pack.” Zander instructed each of them, finally snapping out of his shocked state.
They began to move as a unit. Following Chloe’s scent, a figure stood just outside of eye range, clothed in a black hooded robe, and began to chant.
“Confuse, stop them all from tracking, send them in circles.” The woman’s voice chanted over and over.
Caesar felt a power hit him, and his fur bristled, and his head snapped up, looking in the direction of where it had come from, and he began to shake his body, his fur wafting in the air.
Josh and Robin followed Chloe’s father’s scent, they were easily catching up with the human as he ran in the opposite direction of his wife. They were mindful of traps, and every few meters would pick up sticks and stones from the forest floor and throw them ahead of where they were running, to help set off any trap that possibly awaited them. Soon they reached a clearing in the forest, the ground underfoot was softer, and it was easy to see the footprints of Chloe’s father, his scent becoming stronger.
Brian Hancock, stood at the allocated place, waiting for his wife and daughter to arrive. It was a risk, taking Chloe from her mate and the pack, but it was one he was willing to take. He had given up hope of ever saving her from the wolves and their pointless war, fearing that if her mate was killed, she would follow him into the never-ending sleep, whether from a battle or a broken heart. The thoughts that she would follow in her Aunt Ida’s footsteps had consumed him and his wife, since the day they found out she had shifted into a wolf. Ida had told them about the troubles of the previous king and queen, about the war, and how brutal it was, and he wanted to protect his daughter from that. He refused to refer to the king and queen as his daughter’s parents. She was his, and the matter surrounding her birth would never change that. He had been the one who had picked her up and cleaned the ‘boo boo’s” from her when she fell over, he had been the one who had worked hard to provide for her, he was the one who had loved her, even during her mischievous stage, and it was him that had visited the school on many an ocassion to argue with the teachers about her special educational needs, not them. The relief he had felt when Ms Bines had approached them not long after Chloe had been marked by her mate, giving him and his wife the option to get their daughter back, was immense. She could return home, the bond would be broken, and they would make it so that all of this was just like a dream for her, like she had woken up from a deep sleep, to replace she was once again just a normal teenage girl with a future full of hope, not one that would lead to countless deaths, and potentially her own. He firmly believed they had made the right choice, nothing or no one could convince him otherwise. Brian shifted from foot to foot, looking around the forest clearing, from his position beside the tree had a mark on it, three scratches, and some white paint on the side of the trunk. He was sure he was in the right place, but they were late, and a nervous concern began to form in his stomach.
Suddenly he was surrounded by growls, as six wolves walked into the clearing, his heart pounded in his chest. Was this Ms Bines wolves? Or was it his daughters’ pack members? The answer came soon enough as he saw the boy Joshua shift from his wolf form, and staring straight at him he walked towards him, another werewolf at his side snarling and snapping towards him.
” Where have they taken her?” Joshua’s voice rang out around the trees. He did not shout, but his tone held an air of authority that made Brian shiver.
“Somewhere safe, so that she can return to a normal life.” Brian hissed back.
“Who has done that, who has promised you this bull s**t?” Josh asked, annoyance creeping into his tone.
“A council member, Ms Bines, said that we could take her home, make Chloe forget about the mate bond and this life, so that she could live as a normal human girl with us, away from danger.” Brian stated, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
Suddenly, the wolf beside Josh shifted back into Robin, and he stalked towards Brian. He was livid with anger.
“You believed that, you i***t, now that woman has my cousin in her grasp, and she has poisoned her with silver, fatal to a werewolf, she will not release her to you, she cannot break the bond, she wants one thing, and one thing only, to kill Chloe, and her pack, and you have given up your adopted daughter up into the hands of a psychopathic power crazy b***h. WHERE ARE THEY?”
Chloe sat in a dark cell, the smell of damp and stale air was strong, a Hessian bag over her face. She was thankful for it, as it hid the tears that were streaming down her face from her enemies, because she did not need or want them to see her so broken. She had witnessed the death of the woman who had brought her up, who, up until a few months ago, was her mother. The grief was becoming overpowering. Had her parents made a massive mistake? Definitely, were they idiots for trusting Amanda f*****g Bines? Unfortunately, as angry as she was with them, she knew that they had made a deal with the devil because of fear. They were frightened humans, scared for their daughter, and so her emotions came full circle; desperation for losing her mother, anger that she had been stupid and deceived her, then guilt for feeling anger because she had done it out of love. Chloe tried to focus on the positives to calm her mind. She was not tied up, her captors viewed her as too weak to try to escape. They were waiting, now, outside the door to the cell, for her to die from the silver in her bloodstream. She could hear Amanda and Alpha Ken arguing about the best course of action.
“Amanda, we should just kill her, waiting around is dangerous.” Ken pleaded once more.
“No, I want that princess b***h to suffer. Once we get her father and she witnesses us kill him as well, then we can destroy her completely. Meanwhile, there is nothing she can do, she will be in so much pain from the silver, and that makes me happy!” Amanda raged at him.
“But if we wait, Zander may come for her! There is only me, you and Beta Bill here. We are vulnerable.” Ken tried again to make the woman see sense. She was becoming a hindrance to him now. He had thought he could manipulate her when she took over the council, that he would be the ultimate ruler, the brains behind the throne so to speak, but increasingly Amanda was growing more unstable, there would come a day when he would end her exsistance, but right now, he was beholden to her and he could not execute all of his plans without her.
“He cannot feel her for the silver, and my witch has them running around in circles, they will never reach her.”
“Sheba, are you still with me?” Chloe spoke to her weakened wolf.
“Yes, but I need to get this silver out of our b***d stream. I am getting weaker by the minute, Chloe. I can no longer shift, more can I speak with Caesar anymore.”
“is there anything I can do to help?” Chloe asked, although sat in a cell with a bag over her head and her hands tied behind her back with zip ties, she did not think there was much she could do to aid her debilitated wolf.
“There is something I can try, Chloe, but I do not know if it will work, or if I am strong enough to even do it.” Sheba answered, her voice growing quieter as she became weaker.
“What is it?” Chloe asked, hoping her wolf would answer her.
“I need to sweat out the silver. I am sorry Chloe, this is going to hurt you if it works, but it is our only shot at getting the poison out of our system enough so that I can contact Caesar.”
“Do it, if you can, Sheba, do what you have to, do not worry about me.” Chloe answered her wolf with gritted determination. Whatever the pain was, she would bare it, she trusted her wolf, and this was obviously their only chance to reach out to Zander.
Suddenly, pain radiated through her body, and she let out a small scream, as heat began to build up from the inside of her. Her body began to sweat, and all of a sudden she became horny, more horny than she had ever been before in her life, as another wave of heat washed over her and the pain began to increase its intensity.
The witch watched on in anger, as she sent wave after wave of power towards Caesar, but the wolf just shook it off, and now he had his eyes fixed on her. She began to run, but the power of the royal linage was now a part of Caesar, and her curse for them to get eternally lost in the forest had bounced off him and returned to her, as she wandered around, unable to fathom out where she was going, thinking she had made a break for it, only to replace herself right back where she had begun. , Furstraited and angry the witch shouted out another curse towards Caesar.
“Let the roots from the trees, capture them, creep up their bodies and suffocate them, before finally impaling their hearts.” She shouted.
Caesar shook off the curse once more, reflecting it back to the Witch.
Suddenly, the ground moved beneath her feet, as the roots from the tree began to entwine themselves around her legs. The witch let out a ear-piercing scream, as the realization that rather than curse the royal wolf, it had reflected like a mirror back to her, No matter how much she twisted and turned, she could not escape the grasp of the forest floor, the roots becoming tighter and tighter, making their way around her throat. Dizzy from the lack of oxygen, just before she passed out, the witch saw the branch of a tree, pining towards her heart almost like a finger, and she let out her final scream as it pierced her heart, killing her instantly.
As the witch died before him, Zander could see the light at the end of the tunnel, as he picked up the scent of Chloe, along with Amanda Bines, and Alpha Ken, picking up the pace, he ran flanked by his pack members, to replace the decapitated body of Diane Hancock. His heart broke for his mate, he knew she must have witnessed this.
“This is her emotional trauma.” Faith sighed out, she was filled with compassion for her Luna princess.
Suddenly, Caesar began to wag his tail, the scent of his mate invading his nostrils, it was becoming stronger and stronger, as he ran full force towards it.
“Mate, I need our mate, she is in HEAT!”
