The Innocent Wife of Scheming President
Chapter 46: She Couldn’t Afford the Risk

Olive took the glass in her hand. After hesitating for a while, Olivetouched his glass by her glass. She lifted her head, drank, and drainedit. She raised her eyebrow at him defiantly, and she looked attractivewhen she did that.

Alan laughed, "aren't you afraid I'll force you to have sex with me aftera few drinks?"

Olive picked up the wine bottle of La Romanee-Conti from some yearsand poured each other another glass of wine, "it's wasteful not to drinkgood wine. Men get drunk and have sex that's just their excuse. Theyused it either to embolden them or to commit murder. Alan, are yousuch a disgusting person?”

Alan took the glass in his hand, shook it slowly, and looked at hermeaningfully, "I'm not interested in other people. But I can't promiseyou I won't get drunk and have sex with you. *

Olive felt the veins in her temples throbbing violently. She faked asmile, "Alan, you're joking again.”

"I'm serious.” Alan looked at her deeply. His dark eyes were deep anddifficult to distinguish. They looked like the deep pool and ancient wellthat the surface looked calm, but in fact the waves have been veryrough beneath.

"Well, do I look like a sheep in a tiger's mouth and am I just sittingthere waiting to die?" Olive smiled. She was not afraid of him. She wasjust not sure what he was thinking behind his serious face. She had toplay a joke to hide her panic.

He replied, "let's drink. You said it's wasteful not to drink good wine"Olive could not follow the logic of his words.

But on a night like this, it's easy to get drunk with a little wine.

It's not the wine that intoxicated but the drinker who got himself drunk.Olive, on the other hand, struggled to keep awake after a few drinks. She told herself that this man belonged to another woman, and thatwoman could turn her family upside down overnight.

She couldn't afford the risk.

After she had eaten and drunk enough, she picked up the garbage thatthey had created, she put the garbage in a plastic bag and put it in thecorner. Such a beautiful island should not be polluted by humangarbage.

There were not many places left in the world that were still cleanWithout doing anything, the atmosphere in the tent suddenly becameoppressive. Olive looked at this small space with embarrassment. It'snot like they haven't been in bed together before, but after all, there's adifference between the present and the past.

He was no longer the man she could have courted in her youth. It's notjust that having the courage to love meant being together.

She suddenly remembered some storylines on TV. Olive’s eyes lit up.She arranged the empty bottles, two wine glasses, a few mineral waterbottles and unopened snacks in a straight line. She drew a line withhim.

"You sleep on that side, and I sleep on this side. One should care hisown business.”

"Childish." He said to her, and with the sweep of his long leg, the lineshe had drawn vanished. She didn't have time to move back, so heknocked her down too. He rolled over and pressed her under him, "doyou think, if I really want to do something to you, you could get awaytonight?"

Olive struggled nervously, but could not get away from him. She had tosave her strength, "but you said you wouldn't do anything to me if Ididn't want to."

"But as I said, it was hard for me to control myself when I met you." Hiseyes flickered with fascination for her.

Looking for five years, only she made him have such a strong feeling. He and she seemed to know for a long time.

Alan clearly remembered how amazing he felt when he first met her.For the sake of her friend, she scolded a high-spirited man to the dust.He would almost applaud her were it not for the occasion.

At that moment, he only thought of this sentence to describe how hefelt: I've been looking for her, but I can't replace her anywhere. I suddenlylook back, but found that she’s right in front of me, not far away.

In order to get close to Olive, he bought her company directly at a highprice. It was probably the worst deal he had ever made in business, notfor profit, but to get to know a woman, a strange woman.

Now this woman was lying under him. Over the years, his self-control,which he thought strong, suddenly became weak.

He was longing for her.

However, he did not want to have casual sex with her.

He was not sure whether she was that girl or not, though he feltstrongly that she was that girl.

That instinct made no sense. Even though Olive had always looked as ifshe did not understand the meaning of his words, and seemed astranger to him, his feeling was so strong that only one thoughtremained: the woman he was looking for in his previous life was justaround the corner.

There must have been something he did not know about the suddendisappearance of that girl.

Whether it was something that forced her to leave, or she wasdeceiving him, there was only one truth, and he would replace it.

He reached out and gently touched Olive's face. His fingers werecalloused with the smell of tobacco and rubbed against her cold skin.Olive lay there stiff. Though she was lying on the blanket, she was stilltrembling. She closed her eyes as if resigned to her fate.
