The Last Royal Luna -
(Book 2) – Chapter 48
When we took out those ten warriors I looked up at the Alpha and I could feel his rage growing enough for his Luna to even flinch back from him. I wonder how he got such a submission and docile Luna. I hoped it was because it leveled out his anger issues but the stress within his pack may have pushed him over the edge.
“You won’t be leaving here alive.” Alpha Derrick growled out.
“Listen, this is all stupid bullshit that started out with you stressing over something that isn’t even related to any of this. Save your packs strength so they can focus on whatever you are trying to accomplish. Every pack members life matters and you already wasted ten of them.” I yelled back as we kept creeping our way to the SUVs.
“You have no idea what you are talking about, you stupid bitch.” His warriors all stiffened before five of them walked forward while the other five crowded around him and the Luna.
‘Guys, I am done. Be ready to get in the car and drive like a bat out of hell.’ I told them tiredly in our link. I was over males and their d**k measuring contests and showing their power.
“I am done. I am sorry that you decided to isolate your pack when this war begins. I will try to keep them all focused on us so that you won’t have to fight the vampires and witches alone. We will be the victors.” I growled out.
With that I called upon vines and weeds to grow fast to surround their ankles. I wanted them fighting to get loose while we made our way out of here. From this short interaction I knew that as soon as we made it past their border they would give up the chase. The Alpha wouldn’t waste their time or energy for that. I would still have time to see what I can do for the hurt land even if that Alpha will probably take credit for it.
“What the hell?” The Beta screeched as vines weaved their way around his ankles, tightening as they went. “Get them off me.” He leaned down to try to rip them off but every time he pulled one away another would wrap itself to replace it.
“Witch!” yelled the Alpha as he pointed at me but stared at the vines wrapping around his knees. I noticed his had thorns and it made me chuckle. “We will get you back for this. No one brings a witch on my lands and gets away with it.”
The Luna stayed still even thought I didn’t have any vines wrapped around her. I knew she wouldn’t do anything so I didn’t waste the effort. I think I even saw her smile a bit at the guys freaking out and losing the fight against the plants. She looked up at me and waved her hands for us to hurry up and leave. She didn’t have to tell me twice.
Once we made it to the cars Edgard and Asher were driving since they were the best at high speeds while not killing us. I leaned out the window as we reversed to yell a final good-bye. “I’m not a witch but you aren’t a good enough leader or wolf for me to tell you what I am. You will replace out once we win the war and you bow down to me.” I winked and fell back in my seat with one of the twins leaning forward to roll my window up.
“I will bow down to you…tonight.” Knox teased from the back seat. It made us all laugh which helped ease some of the tension.
Asher drove right through the barrier with one of the guard wolves bouncing off the side of the SUV. The other one was wise and stayed back for us to make it without any more problems. I was finally able to take a deep breath and start to access how my mates made out injury wise. The twins and Edgar were already healing so I called the other SUV and found out the same about the others. Thank the Goddess I was so nervous I had missed one of us getting clawed or bitten when my main focus had been on the Alpha.
The guys gave me just enough time to walk about a mile into the forest and get the grass turning green again using my powers. I felt off afterwards when I knew I shouldn’t have. I only used a minimal amount of powers between the pack and the land so I shouldn’t feel this tired nor this hot. I barely made it back to the guys before needing to take a rest.
“What is wrong, baby? You feel so warm.” Asher asked as he helped me into the backseat. I figured he was going to go back to driving but he hopped in beside me keeping his hands on me.
“I don’t know. I feel out of it and so tired. I didn’t think I used that much power.” I leaned my head onto his shoulder while Blake got in from the other side and held my hand.
“He was right. You are really warm and are only getting hotter.” Blake put his hand on my forehead and leaned in closer. He took a deep breath and his eyes turned to his wolfs.
“s**t. Ryder you are getting close to your heat.” Asher sniffed my neck and I could see the strain when he had to make himself back away.
Before I could even respond I felt a knocking in my head. ‘What the heck is that, Blue?’ She whined in response. The knock happened again but harder and faster.
“What is wrong, Ryder?” Blake asked as he held himself back getting too close.
“There is a loud knocking in my head.”
“You are feeling drained so it is harder to link you. It is probably Alistair. Focus what you can on opening up the link to him.” Asher explain while pushing some of his strength into me while squeezing the daylights out of my hand.
I concentrated and Alistair’s panic in his voice made my body freeze up. ‘The coven was converted. Under attack. Melissa was hit with some kind of ball of magic, and she is passed out. Charles is protecting her while I take out who I can.’ My breathing started to get fast and heavy when I heard him say Melissa was injured.
“How far from Melissa are we?” My voice trembled and I had to hold my lips together so I would started freaking out just yet.
“About two hours.” Edgar growled. He knew something was wrong.
“We have to get to them faster. I am shifting into Blue. Two of you will stay with the cars and keep driving towards us while the others shift with me. They are under attack and ….Melissa is…” I couldn’t say it. It would make it real.
“You have to stay back with the cars. We will go help them.” Blake tried to command me but it didn’t take. I lifted my eyebrow at him wanting to know why he suddenly grew balls to tell me what to do.
“Try and make me.” I replied while Edgar pulled the car to the side of the road while the other vehicle did the same.
