By the time I was done washing myself off in the creek near us my dad had arrived with my grandma and grandpa to help take my uncle back to my grandparents’ house. Just walking up to them, it felt like I could feel their anger and how stressed they were that the situation had even happened. Grams was showing how pissed off she was by threatening to hog tie his a*s and hang him from a tree butt naked, slathered in honey so a bear would eat him leaving her with no body to bury.

“Oh my sweet granddaughter! I am so sorry that your uncle turned out to be such a douchebag! He was always a selfish jerk but he acted like he loved you from the moment your parents brought you home. He seemed that he was the happiest around you and he mentioned to me that he was pining for his own kids. I spoke to his wife a little bit ago before we headed here and apparently he has never wanted kids so that was a big fat fake showing he was putting on. I was wrong and I am so sorry.” She squeezed me into a hug and I felt like I couldn’t breathe.

“Grandma.. cough cough.. you’re breaking my ribs! Cough cough you’re going to puncture my lungs!” Grandpa pulled her back and laughed hard enough that you could see some of the tension leave his shoulders. My dad was wrangling my uncle into the back of the truck alongside Blake and Andrew. I looked around for Asher and realized that he was helping clean up the mess I had made of their former alpha. I really did tear his body apart after killing him. Blue was just so angry and needed an outlet plus showing the warriors how pathetic their Alpha was and how I took no s**t had helped wrangle her in. I looked at the ground and all of a sudden I could feel this weight lay on my shoulders with the realization that I took out an alpha for a second time. I am now the alpha of two different packs and I hadn’t even properly met them yet. What the heck was going on! I had just turned eighteen and I already had a mission to complete to save wolf kind, which was enough to get a handle on, but now I had to take care of who knows how any other people along side saving them and their future generations.

“Darling, we’re going to take your uncle back to our house to deal with him. He’s in deep s*** with us and tomorrow I’m thinking about taking him off our will. If your aunt knew anything about this she is out of the family. You are our granddaughter b***d or not and that s*** don’t fly with us.” I saw how white his knuckles were on the truck door and I hated that he had to deal with all this. Thank gosh he was as healthy as a horse even for a human so dealing with this wouldn’t kill him. Before they left I made sure to run up to hug my dad and flip off my uncle with a big smile. I knew my uncle was probably going to get his a*s kicked and I really wished I could watch before kicking him right in the balls.

“Hey Ryder. This night has just sucked other than replaceing out that you’re my mate. I do really want to get to know you and figure out where we go from here. What do you think we should do? It is pretty late and I know tomorrow you have to meet with this pack and then we have to plan how to meet with the other pack.” He looked like one of those puppy dogs that turns their head sideways when they’re confused yet interested so he was being super adorable but I was still super irritated with him. There was no way I was going to instantly accept him and I hope he realized that.

“I am dog tired and I can feel my stomach eating itself from hunger. How about we hit the 24-hour diner and then after that replace somewhere to sleep? I have fought two different alphas today and at this point all I hear in my head is my wolf passed out.” Andrew laughed and offered to have us stay at the packhouse but I wasn’t quite ready to meet anybody the same night or morning that I had taken out their alpha. So I just shook my head no and looked at Blake before seeing Archer walking up to us.

“I have an apartment in town it isn’t the best or the biggest but it has two beds and a couch.” He smiled bashfully and put his hand behind his head on his neck.

“Deal. Let’s feed the beast and get me in bed. We will talk while we can and move on from there. It’ll be a while before I’m ready to accept an inmate with all the stress that I have and all the weight on my shoulders. Plus two of you have to suffer a bit, which is all the warning you will get!” I winked and started to walk back toward my house to get our cars.

We all took separate cars since I had a few things to do tomorrow and they needed to get their cars back home at some point. The diner was a perfect spot for food since it was a great price, your plate was full of food, and the workers acted like your best friends. The boys and I play never have I ever with our food and it was a blast. We only asked questions about when we were our wolfs or general things about our lives like if we had a band we followed, stalked in Andrew’s case, so we got to know what we were life growing up and what our wolfs our like. The boy’s wolfs hunted big game even if that amount of meat wasn’t needed or fought to claim top wolf but Blue only chased down what she could eat and had fun stalking different animals to watch where they lived and how they lived. Blue was a great tracker because of this and she couldn’t wait to show up Asher who claimed nothing could stay hidden if he was on the trail. After dinner we headed to Asher’s place and I claimed the spare bedroom so Blake and Andrew had to fight for the couch. I have no idea who won because as soon as I hit the bed I was out like a light.

I woke up around noon in Asher’s guest bedroom. Blue huffed in my head because we slept alone and woke up alone but I needed the distance. I know it’s in a wolf’s nature to replace their mate and instantly going at it but the human side doesn’t have to agree with that. I also had to wrap my head around the fact that there will be three more of these possessive mates and I would have to fight with all of them in order to get my way. My Independence is at stake here and my wolf doesn’t even care.

“Knock knock it’s time for lunch and we need to sit down to make a plan.” Asher slowly pushed open the door and he had his hand over his eyes. I have no idea why but it sent me into a fit of giggles so hard that I was clutching my stomach.

“What are you doing Asher?” He pulled down his hand and stared at me.

“I didn’t know if you were dressed or not and I was trying to be respectful. Should I ignore how to be a gentleman? Geez! Now get your butt up and ready so we can get the day started.” He winked and threw some clothes on the bed for me alongside a towel.

“No I’m thankful that you did it but you didn’t even wait for me to reply that I was awake. So if you had saw me naked that would have been on you buddy!” Blue was inside my head telling me to strip so he could see what was all his but I told her to shut her trap.

“Seeing you naked isn’t a problem, at all. It makes something else a problem that would rather you fix it than myself. I can wait for that moment though and I imagine it will be so freaking good.”

“ Oh, Lord. Calm down tiger. I am going to slowly get up and take a shower. Please don’t jump me. Also I noticed you only brought me a pair of your boxers and one of your t-shirts. I’m thinking I might need pants? “ He laughed before telling me I would look cute in his clothing so he made sure to only bring me the best. “Asher I know you’re trying to make me smell like you because this isn’t even a clean shirt. You better be thankful this is clean underwear!” He just laughed and walked out before I jumped in the shower. Territorial asshat!
