The Last Royal Luna
Chapter 36

Walking into the pack house you could feel the nerves rolling off of everyone. Most of the pack tried to stay hidden, scared of their own shadow since the vampires have tried to take them out. I noticed they only had about three children and it made me say a small prayer to our goddess hoping none of the graves were of any children. I smiled at them hoping they would feel how harmless we would be for them and I got a smile out of the little girl who held a baby doll to her chest. The kids and their families filed in behind us as we made our way into the living room. I stopped beside the Beta and looked at him.

“I figured this was the best place as any to have a pack talk so that some of the ones who are injured from last night could have a seat.” He shrugged before crossing his arms and stepping back from me.

“This is fine. I really do need to apologize again. I did not ask your name and I only know your rank from your wolf’s aura.” I felt a bit ashamed I never asked but he attacked us as soon as we walked up so it isn’t like we had time.

“I should of said my name before jumping down your throat. I am Beta Alistair. I just won this position last month, so all of this has been a task and a half to handle.” He nodded at us before turning toward the pack. “Listen up everyone. I have some news and some people you all need to meet. This here is Ryder and her mates Asher, Blake, and Andrew. Let’s welcome our new Alpha and start to regrow!”

Everyone clapped loudly but you could tell the sadness was still the winning emotion. I understood that and I would be the same way if I was in their shoes. I saw a little boy crying while holding onto his momma. Instead of addressing the room I walked over to them and kneeled down to be level with this.

“Hey there, cutie. What’s the matter?” I spoke quietly so that he wouldn’t spook, and neither would his momma. She kept rubbing his back and waited with me for an answer.

“I miss my daddy. Those stupid vampires took him away last night and now he is with the goddess. Momma says she won’t give him back and that I can’t visit him anytime soon.” He growled lowly and I couldn’t contain a little giggle. He frowned at me when he thought I was making fun of him.

“I am sorry I laughed. It wasn’t at you because I know how tough you are. I am sorry about your daddy. I know that you can’t visit and that he cant come home but you know what you can do?” He shook his head no and leaned in to hear my better. “You can talk to him all you want. He will hear all of it. He will be watching over you for the rest of your life. You will never be alone. He loves you with all his heart and he would want you to know that.” He looked shocked that he was able to still talk to his dad. He looked up at his mom with a face full of hope and she nodded with tears in her eyes.

I looked around at the rest of the pack and could see some of them looking better about what they had lost. I turned back toward the boy and ended up getting a big hug from him. I picked him up and looked around the room.

“I know that this has been hard. I know that they attacked because some of your pack were traitors and that I wasn’t here to fill the alpha position. I am so sorry for everything you have lost. Just know that the ones who ratted you out will get what is coming to them from myself and your beta. I couldn’t be here any earlier than this due to circumstances. I have some things to share with you and some questions for you all. Please get comfortable and we will begin in just a minute.” I put the boy down with his mother and walked back to my mates. I leaned into Asher to get some comfort and reached out to hold the other two’s hands. I knew they would be behind me on anything I decide.

“Asher will you call your sister to see how many empty cabins and rooms at the pack house we have? Blake can you call the kitchens and get them to make up some food for this pack. If we end up taking them there tomorrow morning I want a big breakfast. If not that same big breakfast can be brought to us here before anything else happens. Asher, will you call see if some of the warriors can come here to either help them move or help them rebuild some of the homes here?” They all nodded yes before walking away. I turned back toward the room and cleared my throat.

“Ok so what I am about to share with you needs to stay within this pack until the time is right or else we may never defeat the vampires and witches.” I looked around and waited to see what they all thought, and they all nodded. “My parents were the king and queen before they met their end. I am Princess Ryder of the Royal Wolves. I have finally hit the 18 mark to start getting packs together and training so that we can take back what is rightfully ours. I am hoping you all with stand with me in this endeavor that is not only good for all shifters but for your families as well.”

Everyone was in shock before getting the biggest smiles on their faces. They began to chatter with an new power behind their voices. I was hoping the next few questions would keep their spirits up and they would want to come back to other pack with me.

“So I know that you all have grown up in this pack and some have families who were here when it was first formed but now all the is left standing is the pack house we are in. I have something to offer and please let me know what you all decide. It needs to be a back decision that will be the best for all of you and not just for a few. My mates are checking what we have available house wise at the other pack and we hope that you all will decide to go back with us and join that pack. This is a chance to start over, stronger than before. I am the Alpha there until my successor takes over when I start visiting other packs. The other options is that we rebuild here but smaller so that way it is easier to defend. I will need to replace someone to take over as alpha because I can’t do that and win a war. Please take some time to talk this over and let me know what you decide.” I nodded my head at them and turned to walk out the door to give them some privacy.

“Wait, please. Alpha we are more than thankful for the offer you have given us but can you answer a question for my sister and I?” I told her yes and she continued, “ My sister and I are omega’s in this pack. We have no rights and our lives pretty much suck.” I caught a few growls that were aimed at the girls and my eyes flashed purple. They shut up pretty quickly. She took that as her cue to finish talking, “I was wondering how your other pack treats Omega’s?”

I hadn’t ever heard of omega’s being treated that way and it infuriated me. “ I am sorry to say that your last pack Alpha was a piece of s**t. Sorry to speak ill of the dead but damn. No one is above anyone else in a pack. There are leaders but at the end of the day they did just as much work as any other pack member. Omegas have just as much say as anyone else and just as many rights. “ I gave a stern look at the guys who had growled at her.

“Really? Then even if the rest of the pack decides to stay we are going with you. Please?” She looked a bit unsure of herself, so I walked over and grabbed them both in a hug. I yelled yes and it made them giggle. My mates had made it back in the room and had me follow them out.

“Already making allies and some enemies, huh?” Asher asked me teasingly. I just nodded yes before shoving him to the side. He laughed at me before pulling me back toward him.
